I've been using a custom ROM but I decided to remove it. While flashing stock ROM I removed the IMEI somehow but I don't realise how I did it. I currently have TWRP installed. My phone is GB and my sim is virgin media if that helps as well as it being G950F. I've tried multiple ways to try and restore it but I've failed every time.

iv tried 3 different roms now and evrytime after the boot the os comes on ok but there is no sim showing i have tried different sims but still no joy what am i doing wrong ?
check if ur IMEI is showing the correct or not.
I also have same problem, the IMEI number is still present
Try this:
1. Have you tried manually searching your network and then registering it?
2. Try the stock firmware.
3. Try removing the IMEI, and them re-adding it.

I had exactly the same issue with a samsung 15800. I tried everything but in the end, I found out the phone was faulty. If youve rooted it, reinstall stock fw and take it back to the shop. Samsung will exchange it. Just make sure you install the proper fw on it. Samsung exchanged my 15800 for a brand new one btw
swap Kernels
how about this... Flash another Kernel. Like if you have fugumod..then try G3Mod.
My experience.. when i flashed Kyrillos 7.0 which has fugumod by default, i do not get any network...no matter what I try.
So I flashed G3 Mod kernel and things were fine.
Try it. Else your phone is just faulty.
Hello, I have successfully flashed a few handsets before so not a total noob, but still pretty inexperienced. I have a problem that I'd really appreciate your help with. I bought a 6mth old immaculate S4. I hated the Samsung crap on it so decided to install a rom. My original attempts to install CWM failed (kept rebooting back to standard recovery and standard rom) but eventually I got PhilZ Touch Recovery on and then installed a custom rom.
I was feeling very pleased with myself until about 4 days later the network connection failed. So I now have a phone that works in every way including wi-fi AND mobile data but can't send receive texts/voice calls. I did send it to Samsung for repair under warranty but they just said it had been damaged by the rom installation and that the warranty was void.
Now I understand I've voided the warranty, but I'm wondering
1) why did it work after the ROM installation (even just for a few days)?
2) Did the ROM installation damage the phone?
3) Is there anyway to correct this problem or is it in fact hardware failure that I will now have to pay to get repaired?
Any help you can give me would be gratefully received. Thanks Jason

Hi ,
is hard to tell what happen, is you have mobile data I assume your imei is ok (Find the IMEI by dialing *#06# on your phone or by checking the sticker underneath the battery)
first thing i would try ( after backing up all my stuff and EFS) would be flashing back a fresh stock rom to make that everything is back to normal and start all over again...

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I can still find my IMEI using *#06#.
I have tried 2 other roms, but both are non-stock.
Everything works except network connection.
I'll look around for stock rom and put that on.

Hi,
you could try differnt modems and so on...but it will take longer go for a stock rom ( Sammobile or from the post i gave you) and see if everything is back to normal and from there start all over
so my nexus 5 screen is completly f***ed up so i had no choice but to switch again to my old i9500 galaxy s4
i didn't used it in a long time and it had a custom rom & root on it and all that good stuff
but when i inserted my sim (which is a new sim btw & worked flawlessly on my nexus 5) i just dont seem to get any reception & when i touch "Mobile networks" option in the settings i get "Insert SIM card to access network services" needless to say that the sim card are obviously inside my phone
i tried so much diffrent methods that i found online & on this forum which non worked unfortunately
tried installing a couple new modems trough odin which non worked
also tried to give premissions to the efs folder & change owner & it didnt worked
i also switched like 2 roms which now im on a stock 4.3 & i wiped all data but i still have the same problem
i hope someone here maybe will know how to fix this S***ty problem...
please if you have any idea id love to hear it
Flash your phone with the latest stock ROM from sammobile.com and retry.

Hi bro first of all thanks for helping me out here but i tried to download a firmware from the site you gave me & its downloading at 15kbps!! It will take too much time to download...
is there any other source i can download it?
+ can you please explain what will be different from the stock 4.3 rom i installed?
Thanks again for helping out, Much appreciated!!
You should flash the latest 5.01 rom, not 4.3.
Try searching for the rom on updato.com.

didnt work unfortunately
i installed this rom : http://updato.com./firmware-archive-select-model?record=BF01B00E1F3711E6949E0CC47A44B7B2 (im from israel)
and i get the same exact problem
also im not 100% sure but i remember i checked the efs folder and it was empty...
am i f***ed or is there still hope?
i have the imei number on the sticker under the battery btw if that helps
Did you flash anything else that could have caused the loss of imei?
The imei should be able to be injected by a cell repair shop via jtag.
Good evening friends, I have a question about a problem that I have not been able to solve. My S4 version 9505 is free from factory and so it has been for 10 months (I bought it used and that's what they told me) and suddenly in a normal restart it gave me a screen before the launcher that says Unblock or continue ... after that It says that I have a simcard with network blocking. Use Lineage 14.1 and go back to lollipop 5.0.1 stock to see if that solved it but it was not like that. I have imei intact but it is blocked by network.
i would be grateful to who can help me
Thank you
You can try to unlock it by flashing a 4.2.2 mode, root, run regionlockaway, flash stock 5.01 ROM, and see if the phone is network unlocked.
You will not be able to use the menu option listed in this thread but there are some helpful posts: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2282683

Hello
Your phone is not locked, the SIM card is. Have you set up a pin for the SIM card and forgotten?.....Try another SIM card in the phone to check.
The message that appears on the original post is the same screen I received with my locked sgh-i337m before I unlocked it using regionlockaway.

Try this: root the phone, install and run regionlockaway, restore the latest stock ROM using Odin, test the phone.

I did it exactly like that, but it did not work
Not sure why it didn't work since other XDA members have had success with the method I outlined.

imei null when flashing modem I9505_XXUAME2_MODEM.tar
I had to flash a stock ROM again and the imei was recovered, but I still have network blocking
The IMEI goes null because you are flashing a 4.2.2 modem onto a phone with a 5.01 bootloader and flashing the latest modem will restore the imei.
If you followed the steps I outlined and the phone is still network locked, you will need to buy and unlock code.
I'm sorry I had not been able to answer for days.
I could unlock the phone as follows: Install via ODIN I9505XXSHQB1_I9505OLBHOH1_I9505XXSHQB1_HOME.tar then install the modem: I9505DVUAMD8_MODEM.tar, then root, and use Galaxy Unlock app.
I thank all those who helped me here and took the trouble to answer my post.
