Please Help!! First time using Odin, clicked nand erase. - Samsung Galaxy Tab E Questions & Answers

Hi, I have a Galaxy pad E SM-T567v that was locked with a password when i bought it from offer up. I tried a hard reset and it told me No. It gave me a reason but it said it fast and rebooted. So i followed a video on YouTube about flashing with Odin? Looks simple but very confusing to someone like me. I followed the video. They clicked something called nand erase and then i opened a tar file to flash it. Now it gets to the Verizon screen and stays there. It still will not let me factory reset the device.. What do i do to fix this problem i made? Thank you for your time.

Install the stock firmware. You've wiped the device. Good luck finding the stock firmware for it though.

[Q] Google Rom on S4 boot problem

Hey guys
So I just received my BRAND NEW S4 (i9505), and decided to root/flash it almost out of the box. (Smart, huh?)
I did exactly what CURSED4EVA mention in the 2 videos on youtube about rooting and flashing. The only difference is, when I need to hit REEBOT NOW (after doing the zip, wipes etc), it asks me: "ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?"
(It doesn't ask HIM that in that video) - Can't link to him, but search: "cursed4eva Galaxy S4 google edition" - and it is the first video about flashing
I tried clicking yes, tried no, tried "avoiding it", tried restore backup and tried all that in both CWM and TWRP.
All in all I end up with the Google colors just looping and looping. Even tried flashing StockDroids Rom, just to see if it was helping.. but no, same problem.
So now I have a brand new phone, DEAD :good:
Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong? It is a i9505 from Denmark.
And and, sorry if this has already been answered. Just coudnt find it anywhere..
Thanks a bunch!

I did the exact same thing and had the same problem! I eventually got it sorted, turned out I forgot to turn on USB Debugging mode before installing CF-Auto-Root. I got stuck at the Nexus loading screen.
I am pretty new to this but thought I would save you the headache, - head over to samersh72's post on unbricking [here], follow the instructions, and you should be just fine, though you'll lose your root and be back at your original stock firmware!
If you need any more help feel free to reply

Dude, thanks man. Will have a look tonight. So basically follow the guide to get back to stock. And after, Awhen Cf auto rooting this time remember to turn on USB debugging mode, right?
Thanks again
well, went back to stock firmware with a perfectly fine phone.
remembered this time enable the usb debugging mode, but problem is still the same. Still stuck at the nexus boot colors.
When I hit reboot now in cwm, it first asks me:
"rom may flash stock recovery on boot. fix"
Then:
"root access possibly lost"

Does not work tried hoosing "no" to both questions
Even if I choose "go back" it's just going to ask next question.
So do I choose "no" to both AFTER a fresh stock firmware install? Maybe try that?

[Q] Help a Noob please? Flashing the Stock ROM won't work

Hello, I am new to these forums as well as owning an Android device, and was directed here from Reddit when I posted my question there. to save time, I'll simply copy/paste my explanation of my predicament from Reddit, but if I seem to be leaving something out, please tell me so I can offer up as much information as I can.
"I've owned a Galaxy S5 for a little over 2 weeks, and for the past 4-5 Days, any time I try to Turn it on, I receive a message that says "Secure Fail: Modem", in red letters at the top left of the screen, and in the middle there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point with the following text underneath "System software unauthorized by verizon has been detected on your device. please shut Down and go to the nearest verizon store" I'm 17, and currently staying at Governor's school, so I didn't have a ride until yesterday when my Dad and Uncle came to help me try to fix my phone. We went to the Verizon store, where they said that it looked at though I had tried to "root" the phone, which I haven't. My theory is that this is the result of a pokemon game I downloaded from the internet for an emulator. We Called tech support who couldn't help us, but after a little Research, I tried downloading Odin and flashing it with the Stock Rom, but every time I do that, I get the same Error message, regardless of whether I wipe the phone first, or Remove the sim card or whatever, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong and thought that maybe reddit could help me."
I've tried to flash the stock rom several times as per the following video: apparently I cannot link to outside content; however, the video is titled "How to Flash Stock Firmware for Galaxy S5 [All Variants] by Odin3" on youtube
if anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Restart your phone in recovery mode by shutting the phone down and then starting it back up by holding the home, volume up and the power keys until you see the blue text at the top of the phone saying recovery booting. When it boots into recovery use the volume key to select wipe cache partition and then press the power key to run that. Then select wipe data/factory reset and run that. When that's done select reboot system and see if it starts normally. If that doesn't work try Odin with the tar and pit file.

I've tried all of that, even the pit file, it's still telling me that it detects system software unauthorized by verizon, and I don't know why or how it would if I've supposedly wiped the phone clear several times over

I use this method and it worked great. I suggest you try it again, to include re downloading the tar file. Follow the straightforward instructions. Leave your phone connected to the computer even after you flash the tar. It will go through the whole reboot process while connected to the computer. If you still have problems, ask mrxtc (op). I see him all over the place and he seems pretty good at helping people fix problems.

everything I downloaded was from the google play store, with the exception of the "pokemon emerald" rom from coolrom.com. I hadn't attempted to root the phone prior, I didn't even know what that meant until I googled the error message. that actually brought me to a thread on this site where somebody had tried to root their S3 and got the same message. as for the model of the phone, all I know is that it's an S5 and that I got it at Verizon.

Other than what I posted in the recovery thread and what I posted a few posts up that's pretty much it. You could try the nand erase all and efs clear options, check the screen shot and make sure your check boxes are correct. Also if you didn't download the files from the thread I posted I suggest you do. Honestly if none of what was already suggested doesn't work I would contact Samsung. I've had and seen your error before and successfully reset my phone before.

i guess my question was how did you try to run the rom? its a long shot but thinkin since technically its a rom file maybe you used it wrong.. also, theres dev edition s5 and retail s5 for vzw so it does matter which model you have and which odin files youre trying to use.. since phone is less than a year old, id contact samsung if you cant get it fixed and theyll send you a return kit and reflash the software for you.. something similar happened to someone with an s5 active on att n samsungs gonna help him.. only reason he needs to send it in however is cuz there is no s5 active tar available yet for him to odin. you should b able to on yours but hard to fix without having the device in hand and u saying uve tried everything

how do I tell the difference between the dev and retail editions?
I'll see about contacting samsung, since I seemed to have bricked it.

theres a soft brick (recoverable) and a hard brick (not recoverable).. normally a hard brick your phone wont come on or go into any mode at all.. soft brick is when it starts up but either bootloops or wont boot at all into the os (like yours).. im just lost as to why it wont work! crazy.. if u got at vzw and dont know what a dev edition is then u most likely have a retail s5 so mister odin guide should work..

Yea man it worked for me too. If you can get to stock recovery or Odin mode you should be able to do it. Factory reset and clear cache a whole bunch of times.
Just wanted to add I had the same error recently and tried everything. Nothing would fix
Seeing this twice in just a few days has me wondering if VZW has something buried in NK2 ...
I just registered because I'm having this same problem and haven't been able to solve it. I've never flashed any of my phones until last night, because of this error. I followed the instructions in Misterxtc's thread, but no dice. Still looking for help.

The only way I can do that is to get the phone to boot, which it will not get past the error stated in this thread: "SECURE FAIL: modem" I just tried to get all of that to work (sorry the late response was at work) and again it's a no go, I'm going to take it to Verizon, but I'm not optimistic about what kind of results I'm going to get there.
The phone came with the NI2 SW to begin with, and I tried to install that with Odin. gets me about half a second of the normal Samsung splash screen then straight back into the error, after that first boot, no splash only the error.
Thanks for the suggestions though.

I'm in the same boat. I've tried everything to get this issue resolved and I'm not having any luck.
Anyone know how I determine which tar file I should be using (NE9, NCG, etc)? I've got a SM-G900V and I think I've pretty much tried all of the tar files via this link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784880.

Samsung Galaxy A8 (A-800I) Stuck on Logo Screen with red Custom Binary blocked by FRP

Hello all!
First of all i want to thank this site (and the people behind it) that makes everything android possible.
I feel privileged to be a member of this forum specially on rough times like what i am facing right now.
I rooted my Galaxy A8-A800i the other day and everything went great. I followed the instructions that i found here. Unfortunately, yesterday i turned off the OEM Unlock on my phone. Now, as the thread title says it. it is stuck on the Logo Screen with the annoying " Custom Binary blocked by FRP Lock ". i read a guide that ashyx made and i felt stupid. I didn't know that turning the OEM Unlock will do that to my Phone.
Right now, I am digging deep on this forums to try and revive my phone that is currently in Brick state.
i am downloading a firmware from sammobile for my phone, the problem i have is... i don't know how to use it. I don't know much about my phone but I do want to learn a lot and i know that this is the right place. I would like to ask assistance on how to use the firmware that I am downloading right now, and also, can i make the Knox Counter go "0" again?
Thanks for everything guys. I highly appreciate everything i've learned here so far.

Thank you!... i downloaded the stock firmware from sammobile. but whenever i extract it there's a rar message saying it is corrupted so i DLed a new one, it has the same result. I haven't tried using it to fix my phone but i will try right now. Ill give an update on how it goes.
Tried flashing the new firmware but Odin can't detect my phone. i have the latest Driver for SAMSUNG and i have the latest Odin. I tried restarting my phone and my computer several times but it still fails. i am really frustrated and our of options right now. Even if Odin detects my phone there's no guarantee that the stock firmware will be installed properly since it always shows corrupt when i extract it from zip

Install the Samsung drivers first, reboot your pc.
Start odin in Admin mode then put your device in download mode, plug in the usb cable. Your device should be detected.
Don't try flashing a corrupt firmware, it will be rejected anyway as it will fail the md5 check.
I suggest you use a different browser to download.

Phone stuck in bootloop after device reset and installing stock rom

The phone of my girlfriend has been stuck in a bootloop for a few days. It happened while she watched a video. Apparently at the same time she got a message that her phone ran out of space. Then it crashed and has been stuck in the loop since then. Her phone is not rooted. She did restore the device to default settings using recovery mode. This didn't do anything however.
I've tried using ODIN 3.12.3 to flash the newest rom from sammobile since her carrier is T-Mobile. I followed a guide from adnroid central since I never had done anything like this before. It all worked as far as ODIN goes but is still stuck in the bootloop. I'd link the guide but I need 10 posts before I can include outside links.
I'm not sure what the next step would be. If I should try an older ODIN version or use a different stock rom. Before the whole incident her android version was 6.0.1 I believe. Also in the download mode the product name is SMG-900T.
I hope someone can point me in the right direction on what to do. Thank you!

Last time I reset my phone it took forever to reset. Try redoing the process but give it plenty of time. Also, don't worry about it heating up.
If you had any message saved on the phone you won't be able to view it after a reset.
Try taking these precautions next time you reinstall firmware:
Make sure you have the right firmware for your country code (it's usually on a sticker on the box or when you go in download mode: power+volume up+bixby)
Make sure you have the latest Samsung Drivers for Mobile installed on your pc, this usually leads to bootloops if not installed before flashing
Ensure you have the original cable that came with the box connected as it has information that's not found on other wires
Make sure you have the most recent version of Odin. I recommend uninstalling anything you have on your pc and reinstalling the files from the beginning so nothing mixes up
These really helped when I got MY phone stuck in a bootloop...twice...
It happened after only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed. but got someone a s8 backup?
