Maybe s10 will have wifi 6 that is previous version had only 866 megabytes of speed whereas in wifi 6 has a speed upto 1.2 gigabytes. And has a more bandwidth coverage supports 2.4 and 5 gigahertz. :fingers-crossed:
WiFi 6 will be faster than a... speeding bullet!

Is it going to need a special router or access point or it would work with the ones I bought an year ago?
Looks like it... here

S9+ has way better wifi reception than S10. When I'm upstairs I reach 30-40mbps with S9 but only 4mbps with S10. Huge difference.
One advantage is S10 switches more quickly to 4G (lte) when signal strength is low.

My old S5 gets much better coverage and occasionally better speeds than the S10, but the S5 does have a slower link. Doesn't really matter when I can't even connect to my home Wi-Fi from 10 meters away when the S5 has good reception to the router.
https://www.sammobile.com/2018/12/18/android-pie-beta-poor-wi-fi-range-vs-oreo
This is the exact issue on all ONE Ui Devices. Strangely there has been no follow up from Sammobile and in my testing it has never been fixed on any One Ui device.
Based on different versions or generally weaker wifi signal? Could be different modems on snapdragon and exynos.. didn't check it.

I know this thread is old but this "problem" still exist.
I have the same device as you (s5 and s10) and my results are absolutely the same as yours.
this is very frustrating... I hope someday we can manage to get an fix about this .. magisky module or something.

Like a freaking BoSS...
At my in-laws place, the network is so weak that with all my earlier phones, be it MiA1 or G6 or U11, I had to go outside to make a call that too at a particular place.
And FORGET about using Mobile data ever.
But then comes Nokia 7 Plus...
I call people from anywhere and everywhere...
I watched Chelsea vs Huddersfield live on Hotstar streaming.
While others suffered with their mobiles...
Freaking BAWSE
I would say that it is awesome. As a comparison my wife and I are on the same network and both of us had the same LTE network bands.
At times my wife's Mate 10 lite / nova 2i would lose signal and mine will still have excellent LTE signal.
But there's only one complaint is that the phone, despite of me selecting manual network, it will then change back to other network. ( I received 2 bands of LTE network at my place one is faster than the other and both have strog signal but it will always go back to the slower one).
Easily goes into 4G+ mode and hence, higher speeds.

Does anyone nokia 7 plus heat up during weak coverage...mine get extremely warm to 45C when coverage is very weak.

That's normal for most if not all phones. To avoid this try locking into a single network like 3G only if 4G is weak
Great signal quality and coverage here as well.
Like some phones( sony and samsung for example) it heats up a bit and use a lot of battery during low signal quality.

The Airtel Network (GSM) on my USA unlocked LG G7's reception signal works nicely even at weak areas. 4G LTE speed sometimes work awesomely even less than 1 bar. Love the LG G7!
I have noted no regression from my P9 Plus, all connectivity and throughput works just fine. Compared LTE network(4G) speed with a friend who has Galaxy S9, we had identical downspeed being in the same place at the same time. 80Mbit/s at the edge of the city, the G7 had slightly faster upspeed of 56Mbit/s vs 50 flat for the S9.
Noticed that i always get 4g signal whenever i go to my work. Which is unusual for my previous iphone. Great cellular strength!

My sprint g7 thinq lte is almost non existent
My Sprint phone, shows LTE all the time. But doesn't mean it actually has it..
My theory is that the flat ribbon signal wires on this phone are not as good as your conventional antennee wires you see in any other phone.
not so good, now i'm with a sony z1 compact because my lg is at service, the sony have 1/2 bars of signal where the lg g7 have no signal
not really seeing much of an improvement in signal strength over the lg g4, doesnt seem to hold 4g or lte any longer when going inside concrete buildings or going further out to camping grounds where i may get no signal. only throughput seems improved able to pull 170mb dl compared to g4 80-90mb dl from the apartment
I have issue with network connectivity. Getting less network for Jio sim and pathetic speed
Ive been on T-Mobile US for years. I've had several Chinese phones of supposed less quality and yet all of them run circles around the T-Mobile LG G7. Wifi works only half the time. Having issues watching videos on youtube connected to the wifi. I thought it was just my router, but it happens at any wireless router I connect to. I was getting better reception on the chinese phones inside and outside of my house!! Needless to say I will never get another LG phone again!!

Yep and LG Fanboys think it's the greatest phone on the planet.
I plan on switching out to a Oukitel K9 or Ulefone Power 6. Going back to reliable phones!

My G7 thinq have so bitter network. I'm getting very slow internet speed & very fewer bars on the screen where I've Nextbit Robin, Mi Note 6 Pro & iPhone 5 SE which works very fine on same network & getting more network bars than my phone.
On the best network in the middle of the city or town centers, I'm getting 2-4 bars. But as soon as I enter a building it can go 1-2. I feel it's not great. I can call, but 4G doesn't move. Falls back to H, 3G and can't even load a website
I wonder if this is an LG thing. I've owned the G3,4,6. I always end up with LG, as galaxy too exp, and LG has the best mix of value. At home I can't get 4G inside the house.
Her Galaxy seems half-1 bar better.

No different to my S10 S10 plus or any other Samsung I've owned.
Perfect wifi throughout
Worst wifi receiver I've ever used
I come from a Note 2, perfect wifi signal receiver.
I decided to change after decades and bought an A71.
Good enough this phone concerning all but the wifi receiver. It is almost frustrating. While my wife's Hw Y7 and my children's old Samsungs do find the wifi signal at 2 dots I do not see any wifi network available even being in the same identical overrided position.
Very bad thing. Also thinking that if it is so poor receptabling for my safeness, while I'm in the same little space together with people with more dangerous devices I even do risk my health..
In few words: I do not appreciate this from Samsung.
I just bought this phone over the weekend, previous phone was Asus Zenfone 3. Wifi in my house and my parents house seems pretty similar, which is disappointing because I wasn't very happy with the Asus's wifi especially 5Ghz speeds. I did speedtests and ran wifi analyzer on both phones at various points in my house, the Asus typically had slightly better signal strength but similar speedtest result. I compared both against my wife's iPhone XR, that was significantly better in all tests. We have 300mbps internet and an AC3200 wifi router in a ~1500 sqft townhouse. The weakest point for wifi is my office because it's on the opposite corner of the house to the router. The midrange android phones were barely getting to 100mbps on either of my 5ghz networks while the iPhone was between 150-200mbps. When testing near the modem, the android phones would top out around 270mbps but the iphone would go over 300mbps for the duration of the test. On this basis, I am considering returning the phone as I've been working from home for the past 5 months and need my phone to have a strong connection.
it's because high end device have 2x2 WiFi (2 antennas) so the theoretical speed will be double (on 5ghz 867Mbps vs 433Mbps). mid range and cheap phones only have 1 antenna

Side by side with my Pixel 3XL I have the same poor 4G indoors and great 4G outdoors.
Nearest 5G signal is a good 5 miles away or so and haven't been able to test that yet

I've been working from home today and been out for a dog walk. No issues. Signal is poor in my new build but I'd say it's exactly the same as my pixel 3xl.
Only get 4g where i live, can't test 5G here
I have little or no signal compared to the same SIM in my Oneplus 6t. I was told by Google Support to change carriers to one that has 5G...
following, especially for posts comparing the 4XL vs the 5.
Mine is being a bit weird, there are 3 band 3 cells all within a 1 miles radius of my house and on all my previous recent phones they have use those and i have had strong signal but for some strange reason my Pixel 5 is handshaking with a band 20 cell that is absolutely miles and miles away
Returned the Pixel 5 after 20 days due to the phone not able to maintain 4G in my office building. H+ speed is not acceptable in 2020.
This is not a network issue as my Note 10 and Pixel 4 don't have this issue in my office.
So for me the Pixel 5 has very bad mobile reception. 0 star since I'm not able to watch video or steam audio, when I can do the same with phones released one year ago.
I have signal strength issues too. I had preinstalled 5g sim and still not as good signal strength as my old oneplus6t. It's not terrible but it's not great either. Will do further testing on the road.
I came from a Pixel 2 XL. I haven't noticed any difference either way.
I'm having problems with signal strength where I'm at too, major let down, I have 2 other devices that are older and they have much better reception than then the p5. IDK what to do at this point.

5g on this phone is trash
I have had this phone for over a month now. I have to say that the network speed on this phone is complete trash.
5G is worse then LTE on other phones.
Here is a screenshot of the S20 FE 5G next to a Tab A, Both from Tmobile, same room.
I disagree... Best antenna I've ever experienced. Beats out the pixel 3a xl, s8, v20, etc.
Speeds I achieved in rural WV...

I'm having an even more severe issue at 7.93 down and 0.21 upload. Making the phone almost unusable when not on wifi. Been troubleshooting with Sprint/T-Moble for a couple of weeks now.
Yeah I wish there was a way to lock out "5G" truly it's worse everyday speeds vs ny one plus 7 pro one Verizon. Not too happy about that at all. I'll stick with 4g lte+ over this slow fake 5g

it is fine for me it might be your ISP throttling your speed
look at this
my understanding as of this week is that there are 3 types of 5G connections / infrastructure. it looks like you are on a mmwave connection @isamahdi which gives the great speeds but requires you to be very close to a tower. the other two types are low band and mid band. low band gives much slower speeds (100 to 200 mbps) but travels much further and mid band is the half way house between the two extremes.
different networks are rolling different versions of 5G.
some people might receive rubbish speeds because the available bandwidth is split between all users until more towers are put up, bit like all being on one Wi-Fi network.
experiences will vary wildly depending on network types, distance and infrastructure work completed before we even get to account for the phone itself.
My S20 FE 5G is really less good at hooking up weak signals in WiFi, 4G and 5G than my Oneplus 8T
