Ah. I see that now. The spam callers were in fact leaving second long voicemails. Any way to stop the texts?

You must have had Verizon Visual voicemail before?
Call Verizon and have them reset your voicemail.
I did. Thanks for your help!

I've found the voice recorder files, and I've been able to get them off the phone, but using Astro I can't seem to find any place obvious where my voicemails (using sprint visual voicemail) are.
I have some voicemails that I would really like to be able to save off the phone.
Any ideas?

I don't have any so I can't check but I believe that smithmicro makes our visual voicemail.
Check: /data/data/com.smithmicro.DM/
But I have no clue if it's actually even stored on the phone. It might not be. Could test that theory by getting a voicemail then restoring the phone and setting up voicemail again and seeing if it's still there. If not then check out the .log and .xml files in that folder and see if they point to a location.
Or the other option would be to tar up your whole /data/ directory, get a new voicemail, tar it up again and then run a diff between the two which might reveal it.
why not just click menu while in voice mail and forward a copy to your email address.

Wow, I'm feeling very dumb right now. (that worked great)
I've even used that feature before, but I thought you could only send it to another users voicemail on the sprint network. I never even thought to put an email address in there.
Wow, from post to 3 replies, including answer.... in 25 minutes!
You all are so awesome. I can't thank you enough for taking time to answer questions like these.
Thanks again!

Your voicemails are in:
/data/data/com.coremobility.app.vnotes/files

@buck are you sure of this? I tried to look for one just a minute ago and didn't see anything in here. Are they an odd extension?

They are on mine at least. They should be named VN-1.AMR, VN-2.AMR, etc. I was never able to find a Linux codec to play them, but my computer does at least recognize them as audio files, and the number/timestamps correspond with my voicemails.
If I missed some MMS message because my phone was off or there was an issue with them is there a way to recover or view them?

I believe after a routine startup sync, you should recieve an alert. I get all my voicemails amd missed texts...not too sure I helped, but im puuuurdy sure that unless something is wrong, you should recieve anything missed upon reboot.
Could a senior confirm?
Well this is a little different I was testing a ROM when I was supposed to get a few messages, I didn't, now I'm running DamageControl with the MMS fix but I don't know if I can get these messages now.
If you're on Sprint, you can see all your sent and received MMS messages online. I'd post the link, but this is my first post. Google Sprint PictureMail.

Visual voice mail receives its updates via sms, if the app is installed it will intercept these and you will never see them ...
If you have VVM setup and no longer have the app on the phone due to a custom rom then you will see these messages ...
Easiest thing to do is grab the VVM cab and re-install it ...

thats certainly very interesting. thank you for that however, wouldnt i need to have gotten a voicemail in order for this situation to occur, if we follow your logic?
i have not hasd a voicemail in quite a few days now. iis this a recurring ping via sms or must it be triggered by an actual voicemail?
thanks a lot,
jason

Yes I do believe it is sort of a "Keep Alive" sort of thing and it may also be a trigger to tell the VVM app to check , or for it to send any changes you have made to the settings ...
i set up vvm, still getting this annoying text. surely i am not the only person to ever get this and surely it must be something?
anyone?
jason
i have gotten these too, ever since i switched to custom roms..... but i've learned to just live with it.... still hoping for a solution though
Weird, I got them Until I setup VVM app, then they went away ...
i get the same thing, almost on a daily basis! i've set up vvm but it still sends me these txt... and for some reason i also get previous txts from my gf with the sim icon next to it as well.
I get them every now and then. I have the stock ROM and did not set up VVM. I learned to ignore them. I don't even delete them anymore.
Anyone having trouble with SMS sending and receiving? Try some of these options:
1. The easiest would be to use Google Voice. It integrates all your messages and solves the SMS fix very easily.
2. Go into CWM > Advanced > Fix Permissions > Reboot (50-50 chance. Some have gotten this to work, others have not)
3. Update PRL (Unlikely to do anything, but worth a shot)
4. If all else fails, try updating your modem (This only applies to those on EC05 or EB13) to EE03. It hasn't been tested to work, but once again, it's worth a shot and it seems that most people on EE03 have gotten SMS to work.
Hope this helps!

uhhh.... wtf? A cell phone service having troubles with making voice calls? Texts I can understand, but voice calls? Really sprint? Really? Thank god I am not having those problems, nor do I rely on my phone for business, even if the issue is only for a couple of hours.
This issue might affect me if I had a device.

Sounds like a 1x issue.
So, I am on call for work and got a few calls overnight. Every other call, it auto-rejected and sent a text saying something like "I am not able to talk try later" or something. How do I make this not happen?
Anyone?
I don't know, but what I've done is delete all the defined Quick Decline Messages in the dialer settings. But it sounds most likely a software issue so report it to Samsung. For the record, I haven't been affected by this.
