For some odd reason, the A9 Pro after the Oreo update was draining a lot of battery with the device management saying that I have about 12 Hours of battery life.
Scouring to the list of apps, the usual suspects of Android System and Android OS came on top with 16% and 13% consumption on my battery respectively. I completely did a reset after the update but after the update the battery drain issue arised.
I completely ruled out battery degradation because my mother who used this before me doesn't charge the phone up to 100%, only charged within the 80% mark with regular charging and not fast charging.
Is there any battery draining factors in Samsung's rendition of Oreo that is hidden in plain sight or its the update broken again? Since this particular update hasn't appeared in updato and Sammobile, plus this update was an Firmware OTA update.

My Nexus 6P is experiencing "slow charging" after April 7.1.2 Update (OTA).
I am using stock Nexus 6P charger, which now shows "charging rapidly" on lockscreen with 5 hours estimated time of full charge but is charging 18-20% in 1 hour.
Anyone else having this issue?
Tried rebooting, no effect. Any other fix?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...t/xthermal-mod-fast-charging-cpu-gpu-t3433784 worked on the latest beta, didn't flash update yet
Same here on my Nexus 5x with slow charging. I also got excessive battery usage by the Android os and Android system. They doubled on battery consumption after the ota update. Driving me nuts. I lost at least 3-4 hours of battery time with this update. What used to be plenty of juice now barely gets me through the day. I tried wiping the cache partition restarting and so forth. I am about to flash back to 7.1.1 but can't justify the burden just yet.

Have you done a backup followed by a full wipe if it happens again? Could also be a misbehaving app

I haven't tried that but if i decide to go down that route, i will probably downgrade back to 7.1.1 while i'm at it.
Slow charging happens pretty frequently, i can say around 7 out of 10 charges. Haven't properly tested yet but seems to happen when charging at battery levels below 10% or so. I usually do not go this low on battery but thanks to the recent update this became a daily thing. I wonder if the frequent deep cycles will degrade the battery faster.
The android system and android os spends 14% and 11% battery respectively on every cycle. Both the battery drain and slow charge started immediately after the 7.1.2 OTA update. I haven't updated my wife's X5 due to this bug and her's is behaving as usual, spending 8% and 6% for the same android system and os.
The reason for the excessive battery usage is that Google is defaulting the kernel to very high performance settings. They eat up the battery and make the phone run warmer and if you aren't rooted and can't flash a custom kernel there's not much you can do about it. I think Google is trying to burn out these phones. I can't think of a legitimate reason they would run the kernel settings so high.
I own a h990n since December and notice since a couple of days that the phone is runing warmer and draining more battery than usual. I never seen such high system battery drain before. Does anyone has a explanation. The phone is stock and unrooted.
Hello I don't know where to ask this, have you notice that the battery 's percentage of this model quickly goes down? I noticed my mobile have excessive consume of battery. I disabled all the background apps anything. the problem I read, depends from firmware. My latest version is B193 {WAS-LX1A}... there's any possibility that the next firmware update they will solve this battery excessive consume? the battery is really a weak point... My old Samsung j5 was much more better.. this huawei p10 lite drain battery in few minutes from 90% to 85%.. in a couple of hours is already at 50% or even less...
Hi,
After upgrading to Oreo (LON-L29 8.0.0.366(C432)) I'm experiencing very heavy battery drain. I would estimate it's somewhere between 30 - 50% worse than the battery performance with Nougat.
According to the android 8 battery usage information, the 'Phone' application (ver 5.0.0.1) is one of the main culprits - it drained from 100% down to 64% in an overnight test environment with no human interaction and all (possible) apps set to not run in the background.
Amazed they released this with a glaring performance drop.
Anyone else experience this poor battery performance?
Has anyone downgraded to Nougat due to this?
cheers

Have the same Firmware on mine and no battery drain.
Sent from my LON-L29 using XDA Labs
Exactly the same issue on Huawei P10 Plus. App "Phone 5.0.0.1" is causing havoc with battery.
Well after a lot of headscratching it seems the issue was that the 'phone' application is buggy when the sim card is installed in slot 2, and slot one is empty.
I had my sim card in slot 2 - moved it to slot 1 and rebooted - battery life is better than ever and the 'phone' application is back to using minimal power.
After Android Pie update on Nokia 6, overall battery life has been reduced drastically. Even keeping the phone edle has caused battery to drain about 20%. Even with adaptive battery ON, there massive battery drainage when compared to oreo in a given time.
Anyone with same issues and any suggestions for fixes or workaround?
I'm facing with quite similar issue as like you, but I haven't able to update my phone, because the battery level stays at 20% even if the phone is on the charger at all day (TA-1021). This problem started 2 days ago. Everithing is official on the device, no mods have made. It's just a year old phone.
