I arrived from the store with my new Oneplus 6T tonight. On the screen it says, "Finish setting up you Oneplus A6013". I decided to look up the A6013 to see what is the difference between the tmobile one and the global one. I discovered that the A6013 is sold as the unlocked global version from the Oneplus site.
The other version is the A6010. From what I gather this is the version sold in the Asian market with a couple of different bands available only in Asia.
It seems only difference is that Tmobile changed the software to cater to their network and lock out second sim capabilities. Can anyone verify this?
There is no difference. That is the way OnePlus has always done it. I have had Chinese OP's with HOS and loaded OOS on it and there were no problems. Right now, I purchased the TMO variant and flashed the International version on it with zero problems.

Have you tried two sims in at once? I see people saying two sim slots show up after flashing, but haven't read of anyone putting in two sims with service.
Are both of your sim slots showing the same IMEI?
They say they get two sims and one IMEI. So that would make it dual sim standby. I guess the ones straight from the Oneplus site have two IMEI and are dual sim dual standby

When I said there is no difference, I meant it. The phone is identical. The only difference is the SIM tray itself. The TMO variant only has one open slot vs the two on the International version. But yes, when flashed two IMEIs show up. There are plenty of other threads/discussions on this page that address this. You should do a search first. Your question would have been answered before you even asked it. This phone has been out since November; all these questions have been asked and answered many times before.

Hey guys, long time Samsung user. Finally making the switch to Oneplus 6t. It's on the way. I ordered it from the Oneplus site. Supposed to arrive in 2 days.
My 6t will be on the Verizon network. I understand that I will need to call Verizon and tell them it is a CDMA - less device. You can't access your Verizon account online and do it yourself?
After I get Verizon to recognize it as LTE, here is what I am looking for in my 6t.
I want to root it and install a custom rom. I am not a fan of google so I am looking to use nanodroid. I read in another thread that people have experienced issues when trying to use lineage and nanodroid (Microg) while on Verizon with 6t.
I have also read that Omni rom plays well with nanodroid. So if I want a custom rom without bloat and without google, is Omni the way to go?
If not Omni, I would like recommendations. Thank you
Hello, fellow Verizon user here. If you activate the SIM using the IMEI of the 6t you shouldn't have to call them. You only have to call them if you are transferring a SIM card. I've never had an issue with Verizon on custom ROMs except that the mobile data indicator is broken, and that breaks some apps (Google Pay). ROMs that I've tried and had no issues with are Havoc OS and Omni. Whichever ROM you choose if your choice.

My current phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 8) still has 2 months before it is eligible for upgrade. After those 2 months I can call Verizon and ask them for the unlock code for my current Sim. Is that correct?
What you were saying about the 6t imei, if I do not want to wait 2 months and use the Sim card from my note 8, I can just get the imei number from my 6t and activate it on Verizon?
I've never activated like that. Can you give me a brief description of how to do that? Thank you
Oh nevermind, I found where the IMEI number is for 6T and went to my verizon account and picked BYOD. Looks like it will work that way. Just dont know yet if I will be able to use my current sim card or if I need to purchase a new one.

Ok thank you.
Another question. How many 6t users on Verizon, are still having text issues. Especially MMS. I noticed several people in older threads who were having issues. Some so bad that they were considering moving away from 6t.
I use AT&T for my carrier.
I'm trying to understand if I can use a brand new OP6T T-mobile version - https://www.oneplus.com/oneplus-6t-tmo?from=6t - on ATT. I had presumed if I follow the guides here to SIM unlock and flash the international version, that would allow me to use ATT (without ever using, talking to, or becoming a customer of Tmobile). Is that the case?
If not, can it be done at all (dual sim tray? 2nd imei?)?
Thanks.
b
If it is Sim unlocked, it should work fine, but why buy a T-Mo phone if you won't be using it there? Instead buy the global version.
I routinely see posts here from folks using the T-Mo version on other carriers and having issues, or troubles from flashing the international OS version.
Also if there is an issue with the unlock and you aren't a TMo customer who knows what the resolution path would be.

T-Mobile OP6T phone is currently on sale on the one plus website for ~$350. I don't believe new global versions are that cheap though I haven't looked yet (was about to). Thanks for your reply.
Trust me. Spend a bit more for the global phone. There are all these issues with converted phone's not passing safety net, Netflix not showing, Google Pay not working depending on what OS version you are on... It isn't worth the savings you might get.

Thanks! I saw commentary on those types of issues and was trying to understand that very concern.

TMobile versions don't have a 2nd IMEI, they only have one. The second sim slot has the same IMEI as the first one.
As per the title, are we still without dual sim support? Killin' me!

Correct, nobody has figured out a way to do it yet. It's possible we never will depending on if the X55 modem will ever play nicely. Nobody has been able to manage to boot the International 7T Pro ROM either, which could be a first step.
I have found people using dual SIMs on the OnePlus 7T. I think you just have to get SIM unlocked from T-Mobile then buy a dual SIM card tray.

Sadly, it's more involved than that. It normally involves switching to the international variant of OxygenOS. The problem: this device is a T-Mobile exclusive, which means there's no variant of the software that'll allow dual SIM without a custom ROM.
First of all I want to thank every great mind that has contributed to the forward movement of the Android system and special thanks to the developers both novice and experienced in sharing much needed answers on topics that helped me take out of brick status to flashing to global firmware.
I have an issue with my TMobile original built OP6T that I flashed to the international rom and everything went smooth except I bought a Sim tray that had dual slots but the phone does not read the Sim card. Before I rack my brain, quit my job, and alienate myself in my man cave with my Zbook , coca cola, peanut m&Ms, and my OP 6t trying to figure this out. Is it even possible to have a 2nd Sim even though I read the post on XDA of the gentleman who used his friends op6 Sim tray after performing the same flash and it read his son but who knows if it was a random fluke because there is onetime after messing with a secret menu and me putting a Verizon and crickesim in both slots and the 2nd Sim was gathering the info from Sim 2 for 30 seconds then haven't been able to get it to work again. Please help, I have a op6t TMobile variant flashed to international variant on OOS 9.1.3. Thank you in advance to the great minds ready to fire away at resolving my issue. Also, since messing with secret menu, my sim card 1 will be active for an hour then go with no bars and no data like as if I put an old SIM in and says emergency calls only. Does anyone know what test I may have entered making it do that active then inactive???
Thought all T mobile variants were only 1 sim anyways. Mine only has one and it's a converted T mobile devices.
True
Yes, you are spot on. The T-Mobile variant is single Sim but 1+ I wouldn't imagine them building 2 identical phones and making one with less hardware just for TMobile. I think if anything that the software was the difference maker in terms of single vs dual. Since I took a tmo and flashed new global software then perhaps both Sims would work, but mine only worked for 10 min max and then cut out. I appreciate your info and reply, thank you!
TMobile 6Ts are not International 6Ts. International 6T are dual SIM and have 2 IMEIs. TMobile 6Ts have only a single IMEI and will assign the same IMEI to both sim slots. This can cause problems when using two sim cards.
I have a TMO converted to international & have been using 2 SIMs successfully for over six months now.

Are you using two different carriers? Lots of people do it. The OP maybe trying to use two SIM cards from the same carrier which can do weird things sometimes. True dual SIM phones have two IMEIs for a reason.
Also keep in mind "same" carrier doesn't mean "same" name, I use a company that use another companies network.
I get you can find deals on TMobile 6Ts just realize those deals may come with headache or two depending on what you are trying to do.

2 SIMs work perfectly well if they connect to different carriers. I have been using a USA t-mobile SIM and a UK GiffGaff SiM in my phone for almost a year now and have never had problems. Here in the USA, the giffgaff SIM connects to AT&T, but if I had a different UK SIM it might connect to T-Mobile and then I'd have problems.
So try to make sure you try 2 SIMs that connect to different carriers - try one first on it's own and see what carrier it connects to. Then try the 2nd SIM on it's own and if it connects to the same carrier as the first SIM, then that might be the cause of your problem - the single carrier won't let the same IMEI register twice on their network.
Read one review that said you can't use Dual SIM in the USA right now? Anyone know if that's true and an ETA/or if It'll eventually come? Can't use my 7Pro with Dual Sim because my work verizon account won't let me switch to "CDMA Less" so when I saw the 8Pro supports CDMA I was excited.........then I read that.
Anyone have any more info?

I'm wondering the same thing. I want to order the unlocked OP8 pro from OP's website tomorrow but if the dual sim is disabled, there's no way to know when they are going to update it to enable dual sim. I want to dual sim out of the box, otherwise it's useless for me. My OP7 currently has two sims in it.
If you buy the carrier versions of this then no you will not have dual SIM, however if you get the unlocked version from OP themselves then you will be able to use dual SIM. Or at least this is how all previous versions have worked. Only caveat I would think is if you are a Verizon customer as I think they need the specific Verizon version.

I am on Verizon but if I wanted 5G, then I need to get the 5G VZW UWB version, is that right? But the only caveat is that they don't offer the Pro with VWZ 5G and only the standard OP8?
My understanding, and maybe I am mistaken, that the pro also comes in that version for Verizon.

Unfortunately it appears Verizon will only offer the non-pro model in the 12 GB RAM configuration for $799 but in two colors.

Straight from OnePlus support today:
"as the device is just out and the first software update/OTA is yet to be released, it is recommended to wait for it rather than doing a reset to the device as the system itself says that it will be fixed on the upcoming update and you can change from single to dual."
Already RMA'ing it up and sending back. When/if it's ever enabled I'll give it another shot.
Borderline deceptive advertising IMHO.

Pretty bummed out. I also ordered directly from OP. My T-Mobile (home) sim is in the first slot, and my work (AT&T) is in the second. I thought it must've been a mistake when I first saw the error, as I've used OnePlus phones ever since the OP5T and haven't seen this *not* work one day 1.
Bummed here too. Got mine today and was looking fwd to popping work and personal SIMs in but SIM2 is a no go. DM'd OP support on Twitter and was told it should work out of the box. I directed them to this thread and screenshots from my device. Crickets.....

I'm seeing in other threads that others seem to have it working (UK users, at least). Have you heard anything back from OP yet? I wonder if removing the second sim and putting it back will trigger something
The response I got was that they, "found that there is an issue with the Dual SIM." and "The team said they will roll out an update which would fix this issue." No ETA given and I didn't respond. I ended up listing and selling my OP8P on Swappa.
ARGH, hope they fix this soon so I can pull the trigger and buy one! Course until then my OP7P will work
Only response I've been able to get from OnePlus is:
This is to inform you that as of now we do not any official information regarding this. We request you to stay tuned to our social media channels for future updates.

I really how no idea what you are talking about. All my OP phones, as far back as the OP3 my son has, has been dual sim. I had zero issue on my last four phones... (five, counting the Axon 7 I had), then this one comes along and it doesn't work. The only thing I can think of is something changed with the switch to 5G.

Deceptive advertising? More like your inability to read. It says on the website that dual sim will be enabled in a future update.
Can we flash an US version with the UK ROM?
Grrrrrrrr. I was really hoping yesterday's update (10.5.6) would've fixed the dual SIM issue, but no. It hasn't. It'll show VoWifi for a sec, then switch back to VoLTE.
At least MMS seems to be working with wifi on. That was broken until this update.
I'm in Germany and I can use dual SIM, but not with 5G enabled. Oneplus is still working on the software on multiple fronts and the US seems to be behind, see screenshot:
