Dinc Battery Life improved with new ROM

Well, like many of us Dinc users...we struggle with battery life. I could barely get my battery to last more than 8-10 hours of light use....even using battery managing apps, etc.
If you haven't tried the MIUI Rom....download the latest and give it a try. I've always loved MIUI...but the latest version added some really cool features. EVEN BETTER...MUCH better battery management. For the last 10 days, my battery has been lasting at least 24 or more hours of light use. 12-13 hours of mod to heavy use. I couldn't believe the difference, but the update to MIUI 1.6.17 is the only thing I've changed.
Hope this is helpful....

Never flashed MIUI because of the Iphone look. Since I use Launcher Pro, though, maybe I'll give it a try today. In any case, thanks for the info on the battery. We'll see........
Been trying MIUI out lately and while it's a great rom, not being able to have the Swipe down opening up my notification bar is a feature I can't go without (case makes it hard to grab the top of notification bar). While I could simply switch to ADW for the feature, I feel using ADW takes away from the feel of MIUI.
In my experience so far with MIUI, the battery life seems the same as it was in CM7 (my daily driver), I average about 14-16 hours with CM7 running incredikernel
One ROM I would recommend is the SkyRaider 4.1 ROM! It has incredible battery life! Lasts me a whole day with 3G on all the time! Definitely check it out!

cm11 based, Battery life.

I've used Touchwiz and CM11 based ROM's however, for some reason the touchwiz roms give far better battery life. Are there any cm11 based roms, or cm11 itself, that have good battery life? I'm talking all day battery good sleep etc. Get at me!

Are you battery nerd? I was

Who the "battery nerd" is? It is a person, who does not care about using a phone, having fun. All he cares is battery life. What should I do to increase my battery life? Why my battery life is so bad? Why people achieve better results than me? Am I battery nerd?
I was.
We will get to that later. Smartphones nowadays are very powerful devices, have very beautiful screens and too many features to count. They are portable, they need energy to run. They need also to be handy and fit to a pocket. How to make them last forever? Tweak your phone. Turn off all features of a smartphone, debloat, install custom rom, remove wakelocks, wakeups, everything. Basically, do not use your phone at all. I went through all of this. Why? To get the best SOT? No, I still can't explain it. I lost my mind and wasn't happy with my phone. People were like - hey, you have Note 4, it's amazing, are you having fun? Do you know, what was I using it for? For the same things that my friends were. Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Youtube, Web browser, Camera and so on. I did not feel better with the N4. Very fast processor, a lot of ram, beautiful screen quality. And that's nothing. Because I used a battery profile settings in my kernel app, task killer to kill all apps in the background and almost black and white screen to get the best battery life. Not to mention that I asked about a hundred guys here asking for help. What my setup looked like? Clean, heavily debloated rom, custom kernel with battery profile, low saturated screen, xposed, greenify, amplify, power nap, appops, intelli3g. Turned off all the features that smartphone has. Black wallpaper, black theme, almost the darkest brightness level possible.
Suddenly one day I woke up at the morning with a feeling that I need to change it. Formatted, wiped and installed a clean, stock rom. Stock I mean Alexandr in my case (N910F). And I did nothing to improve my battery. Then I started to be happy. Be happy to use the smartphone and all of its features. If I need to charge it, I carry a powerbank or a charger.
What about you, are you battery nerd?
I was one for a very small time, but i realised that what i did to get better battery life didn't change anything. Example is greenify, i greenify'd almost everything but it did nothing to get better SOT or better overall battery life.

i used to be......now i just don't care....i charge my phone as many times as i need.

Nougat VS. PL6/PL2 battery life

i cleaned installed nougat, and the battery life is just ****. nothing like when i was on PL6. i want to know what your battery has been like for both or either OS version. I hope the next update fixes battery life, or i'll just have to go back to PL6 or PL2.
i got back to pl2 U firmware
After a week, rebooted and been okay on battery as good as old one, I have been looking at apps that use up battery power and I tune them up from not running so much wasting power. Nougat is so far easy to use, more options into details, so far it lasts me to about 2-3 hours screen time with pixel launcher, I also used samsung disabler app to turn off bunch of apps and use hangouts as primary SMS, MMS app. So far, it's a good build, I'm sure there will be few more tweaks released to soften battery consumption.

ROM for good battery life?

Hey! I am currently running 7.1.1 on my rooted OP5 but I am not satisfied with the battery life... is there any rom that sagnifically improves the battery life of the oneplus 5?
You can try RR unofficial with Blu Spark Kernel. It has an fully working OOS Stock Cam and comes with YouTube Adaway and background player. Also i get 9 hours SOT with the default kernel profile and no heavy multitasking. Or wait for an unreleased ROM, can't say the name yet, cause it's in an Testing Phase.:highfive:
What kind of battery life are you currently getting? Are you running stock OOS with the stock kernel? Switching to a custom ROM to improve battery life seems extreme if you haven't explored any options on your current ROM to improve battery life first. Are you trying to improve SOT? Reduce idle drain? Both?

Yeah, install EX kernel, significantly under-volt and under-frequency it, and install one of these super aggressive EX profiles that put half your cores to sleep. The delete all apps you don't use, particularly system apps, and Greenify everything else, turn off push notifications and location services, and turn down screen brightness to a minimum. While you are at it lock the phone in a volt to keep you from turning on the screen. You will get great battery life alright, but you may not like using the phone :banghead:
I'm running Pure Fusion with blu spark and am getting nearly 9hrs SOT
Great ROM and kernel combo imo
