Is there a way to hide the status bar while keeping the functionality?
Just swipe down from top and boom notification out of no where
if you use a launcher i.e apex, nova etc you can hide the status bar and set a gesture ( i use swipe down) to show notifications

Using Apex myself and must say it's a dream!
The only thing I don't like is that widgets don't stay scaled the same after a reboot. But everything else can be configured.

Take a look at this, it sounds like it might be what you're looking for... http://www.xda-developers.com/android/completely-hide-your-status-bar-while-retaining-functionality/

Is there an option or an app that allows you to swipe down from anywhere on the screen to bring down the notification bar? I know launchers like Nova allow you to do that, but I'm really enjoying TouchWiz this time around, and with my small hands, I'd really like to swipe down anywhere on the screen to get the notification tray. If I'm adjusting my hands and fingers to stretch up to swipe down from the rear fingerprint sensor, I might as well just swipe down from the notification bar.
I've noticed Samsung is blocking this only when it comes to the notifications. In action launcher 3 I can map swipe down to anything other than the notification panel.
I use the "All In One Gestures" app and remapped my back soft key to the notification pulldown on a long press.
Odd. I have this working with Nova on my S8
If you enable the app drawer button instead of just swiping, then you can swipe down from anywhere for notifications.

Are you sure this is true? Did you have to enable that somewhere? Not the fingerprint reader, and on the touchwiz launcher.
Well, I was wrong. I read that adding the app button would allow swiping down from anywhere. Just tested out and it still doesn't work. Sorry.

Finally they've implemented that feature. :good: :good:
Go to:Settings -> Display -> Home screen -> and enable Quick-open notification panel checkbox

Why do Verizon customers not get this version through official channels like the Google Play Store or Samsung Galaxy App Store?

Ok I'm using that one as well. Pretty good. I have Oreo with Substratum and Andromeda installed. Immersive Nav Bar
Anybody know who the dev was for the 0pt.navbar so we could reach out to them possibly?

it's @tytydraco, but he himself still can't make one for Oreo, i don't think it will ever be like 0pt.navbar, at least without root.

I dont with my setup? Theres only ever a black bar when the keyboard pops up. The rest of the time there is zero navbar and I just use gestures. I barely notice I don't have a navbar anymore.

You can adjust the height via the adb. Work perfectly with my swipe gestures. And no useless bar under the keyboard.

Cool✌
Yes you can do it
Just download fluid navigation from play store and through adb make it work. Search google for more
Yes, there are some apps in the playstore that can hide navigation bar. I tested this when I was trying the gesture navbar from xda. Changed back after a day as I am not used to it.
Its about hiding not changing soft button (nav bar)
Through adb you can hide the nav bar without unlocking bootloader or root privileges.
Install system ui tuner. It has that option
So I really like the Gesture Navigation. But the Swipe up to Go Home animation is slow and even slower for Nova launcher. Is there anyway to remove that animation?
I'm using Nova Prime (beta) and haven't seen any speed issues with the home nav gesture. Have you thought about adjusting your animation scales inside the Developer options?

Yes I do have that...are you using gestures? If yes, what's your animation when you swipe from center to go home? And where does the animation end? Middle of the screen or the app you had open?

See that janky animation where it takes you home on swipe up. Its better in OOS where it minimizes to your current app...

Is it janky? I guess the settings on the screen record may be showing it a bit janky but to my eyes it seems rather smooth.
To make it a bit smoother, I increased the animations to 1.5x Instead of 1.0x feels a lot better to my eyes. Try it out.
