notification dot colour or unread count? - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I just switched from IOS to Oneplus, and got so used to the unread count on app icons.
is there any way to get this on Oneplus 6T?
the notification dot is not really helpful, as the colour is auto set to a similiar colour to app icons. i have to put on my reading glasses when checking.
tried nova launcher with teslaunread, it only works sometime on only some apps.
my os ver is 9.0.7
any help would be really appreciated.
thanks,
S.

Latest S8 Update: Navbar colors

Hi guys,
So I've just installed the latest S8 update, which killed the color picker for the navbar and essentially gives you all white colors (Screenshot attached). Even if I use "Apply current theme", it's still white in some apps (e.g. Play Store, Instagram, Snapchat, Whatsapp many more). So I've downloaded "Navbar Apps" and it does the job of getting my navbar to a full black, but only sometimes. Im using a dark theme and have been using black navbars since they existed (why does Samsung even have white ones lolol) and navbar apps doesn't work 50% of the time and doesn't have the "ripple" animation when pressed, so I would really like a stable, solid black navbar. Any ideas? Thanks!
Same thing here...
The best thing would be to make it translucent IMO.

Lol, thanks that actually worked (although I had to sacrifice the ripple animation). Still looking for a more seamless way to fix this though. To anyone interested: here's how I set it up (Screenshot attached). Can't really notice the translucency, but it looks black and that's what I'm going for.
Cheers!

Know of a way to colorize/theme notification icons for second screen?

I picked up an LG V20 recently, and am loving it. I see it lacks an LED notification light, instead relying on the second screen to show notifications when the screen is off. Apps like Textra let me theme the color of its notification, which makes it much easier to identify at a glance. Was wondering if anyone knew of a way to theme or replace (for example WhatsApp or Hangouts notification icons to be a different color. Thank you very much for any suggestions.

I still think it'd be great if there was a way to make the whole 2nd screen flash a solid color at maximum brightness a few times because yeah it grabs your attention more so than a static icon
I found this thread through a search. I am wondering the same thing as I evaluate a V20. The email notification icon on the Second Screen (I use the Stock email app) is very small. Is there any way to make this larger at minimum and best case, flash continuously like a notification LED which the phone otherwise lacks? Just making it the size of the other Second Screen app icons would be a big help. I would prefer not to try rooting/customizing as I am not confident in my skills and am concerned about bricking the unit.

android oreo dynamic/coloured notifications

Quick question, does anyone know if android oreo for the galaxy s8 will come with coloured notification bars for each app in the dropdown notification shade? eg red for youtube, green for whatsapp etc?
If not, would it be difficult to implement at some stage or is it too much work? Currently using material notification shade app on nougat and i've really fallen for the coloured notifications in the shade but I want to flash 8.0 in the next few days.
Thanks,
Barry

Size of text and icons in status bar

Hi,
Does anyone know a way to increase the size of the icons and text in the status bar and possibly change the colour as well?
I know the size can be changed at Settings > Display > View mode, but I find the size quite small even at the largest setting.
The small text and icon size is just made worse by the adaptive colour behaviour, which always sets the hue of the colour the same as the background, (ie. light green for Google Play, light red for Gmail).
As if Huawei was trying to hide what the status bar shows, which kind of defeats the purpose.
Just for comparison, here are some screen-shots from my P10 Plus and from another phone running stock Android (both are on Oreo).
Note that while the stock droid's text and display size is set to Default/Defaullt respectively, the P10 is set to Default/Large (which is as large as it gets for the status bar, since on the P10 plus "text size" has no influence on it).
Any help is appreciated.
Thank You.
Is it really impossible?
Well, from the absolute lack of responses I must conclude, that what I would like is just impossible.
Or am I asking at the wrong place?
Anyone?
Thank You.

If You find any solution or a workaround, please let me know.
I was thinking, that perhaps an app with a widget that can replicate the function and behaviour of the status bar would do the trick, but I could not find one.
(Or perhaps, HUAWEI could just stop being stupid, and make a status/notification bar, that is NOT trying to hide its own content.
Anyone reading XDA from Huawei?)
I agree, it's really hard to see most of the time.

It"s a nice app, but unfortunately it does not solve the problem.
It only lets you select different icons for Wifi, Signal and Battery.
It does not modify the size or colour behaviour of status bar.
But, thanks for the tip, anyway!
Hello,
Please let me know if find any solution for this issue. I am m also facing this issue of small icons in status bar.
Thanks

Still not fixed with EMUI 10
I share the frustrations of people on this thread but was confident that the new release would sort it out. Sadly not
I just updated my P30 Pro to EMUI 10 and ... same. It's not just that it is not configurable but that the only size is so small. Am I really going to have to root this phone just so that I can read the status bar?

The only way to increase the font and icon size is install another Launcher instead of using EMUI. Huawei really lock down the screen option badly. Try Nova launcher or Microsoft launcher (it is free).
I wish it was that simple

Unfortunately, You are wrong.
It's about the status/notification bar. Launchers can't change that.
Besides , EMUI is not the launcher on Huawei devices, it's much more than that.

There was me, hoping EMUI 10.1 would fix it.... Nope
I found a bare app for this issue on my vivo device but not perfect. The "Super status bar" app makes all text lager enough than they are. But this app doesn't work properly for all devices. It didnt work at 1st but i could get it work by trying repeatedly. The accessibility permission couldnt keep switch on and goes off itself. But when i switch on repeatedly many times later it didnt went off and app worked. But after the latest system update the app stopped for me. So if you could get work this app then don't do further update system as it may disable the app.
Also there're some limitations of this status bar app for ex. no data speed indicator. But for that i used another speed indicator app to show net speed on super status bar. Signal indicator shows bit of signal when there is no signal. The signal type G, E, 4G, LTE only shows only when data is switched on. Yet the time, battery and other common text are big enough on super status bar. Sometimes the paid version may better. There're some gestures also in the app for ex you can set call volume etc by sliding through the status bar and tapping status bar can show power manu etc. You can try it...
Unfortunately i cannot mention the link of Super status bar app as it not allowed here. You can search it by name in play store as "Super status bar". A green color app icon..

Huawei Nova 3i

Hello,
Just bought new Nova 3i, 128 Storage 4 gb ram.
I don't like the soft vibrate, When a call is coming it vibrates softly. I missed or late responding many messages.
The notch is annoying
The notifications are not appearing on the top bar like Marsmellow version is.
Is there any tricks to solve above concerns?
Or can I downgrade to lower OS or UI?
Regards,

i know this is late reply.
to enable the notification icons simple go to Settings>Apps & Notifications>Notification Method>Icons or Numbers
Numbers - sums up the total number of notification (this is better since you will know how many notifications are, since in Icons there will be no enough space for the other icons)
Icons - shows the icon of the app that has notification
cant downgrade since android 8.1 is the default OS at launch.

No it is not late
I am a ols fashion individual, prefer to have icons as notification. Number works well I need to used to it.
Is it because of the notch?
Soft Vibration issue, it can't be adjusted ya? I need stronger vinrarion. Because it is hardware, i tried to install vibration apps, but the it still very soft.
So that's why i was asking downgrade possibility.
Or may be there is a launcher or UI i can use? (htc sense, miui,....)
Here is my notif bar
It is only fit woth 4 icons. While I have plenty notification
