[Q]Advice for Nexus 7 grouper fastcharge

Hi all,
my gf has a Nexus 7 wifi 2012 (i think grouper), update to Lollipop 5.0.2 and it has 2 issues:
lollipop is too slow on this device
slow charge issue
For the first problem I thought to root with cf-auto-root and install a rom, I thought about a cyanogen? I don't really care if it's android 4 or 5 the important is that the rom is fast! am I correct?
For the second problem I read a lot and after try to change cable, and charger I thought that the only way to solve this is to change the usb connector...but! Today I read here that someone soveld with a kernel that support the fastcharge feature.
How does this fastcharge works? can you advice me a good rom with this kernel? or if I can install a stable CM è this kernel? and how to activate it?

The kernel fast charging feature some people are talking about only applies to charging from USB (pulling more than 500mA from USB ports that support it). It doesn't have any effect when you are charging from a power adapter.

Fast Charging Issue in Ze550kl Model

Recently i noticed that when i used fast charger in my ze550kl in cm13 or lineage os or any other custom the phone charges quickly but after some time i installed zenui on this model but the phone doesnt charge fast as compared to other stock rom .
According to me fast charging is a hardware so why my phone charges fast in custom rom but not in zenui????

Slow charging issue

I'm on Havoc 2.6. I flashed havoc after being in Stock pie 053 build thinking that the slow charging problem will solve somehow. But in Havoc with stock kernel I was getting around 1400 maH speed. So after a bit of research, I flashed pbh 18 kernel, but that didn't make any changes in the speed. Then I asked on the telegraph group of pbh about my problem. They suggested to flash the 339 firmware. But that also didn't make any change.
Can someone suggest any work around to get a decent charging speed at least?
(I'm using stock charger and stock cable)

Don't use the stock cable.
Use any other cable, i used a spare one i had at home and it fixed the problem for me.

Fast charging seemingly not working after updating to 10.3.5 (from 9)

update: So I know for 100% sure the brick I was using while on oos 9 was fast charging but idk what happened after I updated because I bought a second brick I think it's the same one I got from Amazon but either way the fast charging is working with the new brick maybe the new oos very 10 recognized the old brick wasn't up to par (which it was supposed to be and it was working on oos9)or maybe the brick pooped right after I updated.. idk but it's working now.
So I updated my oneplus 6t from oos 9 to 10.3.5 and I have realized that when plugged in it doesn't say charging rapidly or show the lightning bolt anymore.
I am using the correct brick+ cable as it was working fine on the previous oos version.
Is there a mod that can fix/enable the feature or am I out of luck /have a broken oos install? Im trying to avoid a clean installation if possible.
Any help is appreciated
