Car contact sharing not working - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings,
my father owns a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE (hlte) and we've flashed Lineage OS 14.1 some months ago. The device runs great, but he has issues with the bluetooth car connection.
What works:
connecting the device via BT to his car
playing audio
receiving calls (and probably making calls)
copy phone book (by exporting the contacts list and share the .vcf file via BT)
What does not work:
accessing contacts on the smartphone (without copying them)
incoming calls do not show the callers name in the car display, only the phone number
We've tested everything with two car audio devices of different manufacturers, both of them are unable to access the phone contacts. If I'm hooking up my Pixel (stock Android 9) everything works great, so the problem is clearly caused by LineageOS on the Note 3.
Is this a known bug and is there any way to solve it?
Current installed LOS version is: lineage-14.1-20181209-nightly-hlte-signed
Thanks in advance!

Yes if you read BT has bugs .
FLASH STOCK ROM FOR WORKING BT.
Devs are working on it long time.

Galaxy S phonebook access, call lists etc with Bluetooth car stereo

So I've just bought a JVC KW-AVX 740. Great little unit, comes with bluetooth support built in.
Unfortunately, my Galaxy S doesn't integrate as well as it should. Both the unit and the Galaxy S support PBAP. The unit is capable of accessing dialled/received/missed call lists as well as the phonebook and voice dialling on compatible phones. However when pair/connect up my Galaxy S to the unit, the functionality is quite limited.
I can:
Make calls from the headunit
Receive calls via the headunit, so the handsfree element seems to work just fine. Quality is acceptable.
Send my phonebook across manually either one by one or in one go so it is stored on my headunit's memory (this worked flawlessly and was quick)
Play music from the Galaxy S over bluetooth through the headunit (quality is pretty good with no issues to report although I'm yet to do some more complex tests e.g. see what happens if I receive a call whilst streaming audio at the same time)
However, the unit is unable to:
Voice dial
Access the phonebook of my Galaxy S,
Access the dialled/received/missed calls lists
No SMS alerts
To double check it wasn't my unit playing up, I decided to hook up my Nokia 5130 Xpress Music - result?, it worked flawlessly.... Pairing was instant, as it is with the Galaxy S, except everything worked as it should. I could view the lists on my phone through the headunit and access the 5130s phonebook. Everything sync'd perfectly.
So it's not the headunit, meaning it's either Android or something Samsung have done to Android.
When I pair/connect the Galaxy S I do not get a prompt asking me if I want to grant the bluetooth device access to the phonebook - which is what is supposed to happen (and I've read about other peopel receiving this prompt when connecting their Galaxy S's to other car kits e.g. factory car bluetooth etc). When I check the device options in Bluetooth settings on the Galaxy S, under profiles all it shows is "Phone (use for phone audio)" and "Media (use for media audio)". Both boxes are ticked. Shouldn't it show other profiles like PBAP etc?
Does anyone have a picture of what the prompt looks like on the Galaxy S?
Phone details:
OS ver: Gingerbread 2.3.3 official and totally stock (no root, etc)
Basband: I9000XXJVO
Build num: GINGERBREAD.XXJVO
None of the contacts on my phone are synced up with Gmail/Exchange/Facebook. I added all my contacts by hand into the phone's memory.
Question: What's going on? Or more importantly how do I fix it?
Ok so I've done some more tests with some results I guess could be perceived as positive.
I tried my mum's Galaxy S on stock Orange UK branded 2.1 Eclair and to my delight the phone fully integrated... It disconnected the first time but I reconnected and it seemed to be ok.
I then tried a friends Orange San Francisco (aka Zte Blade) on stock Orange UK branded Eclair also, 2.1 - and this also worked fully!
As soon as either phone connects - both show a prompt stating the connecting device (JVC unit) is asking for phone book access - and when given - the stereo can access all lists and the phonebook.
My phone still doesn't work!
I'm putting the problem down to stupid Gingerbread - so WTF did they break?!

Sprint S5 Bluetooth issue

Hey guys i just got a new vehicle the other day and i am running into an issue with my bluetooth.
The vehicle is recognizing incoming calls right when they come in but when making a phone call the phone tries to connect to the vehicle but the vehicle does not react. Media plays fine using bluetooth as well, only issue i am having is with outgoing calls... From the little bit of research i have done i have come to the conclusion that the issue is the phones Bluetooth modem (not sure if that is the correct terminology).
Things i have done:
I have tested the incoming and outgoing of phone calls with my work phone (blackberry 9930) and i have had no issues at all.
I have also reset the uconnect system and repaired the S5 but not having any luck.
Vehicle.
2015 Wrangler with Uconnect 130 system.
Phone Specs:
Sprint Galaxy S5 (rooted without custom rom)
Android version running is 4.4.2
NOTE: Phone will not alloy me to upgrade due to the root...
All help is appreciated. Bluetooth is kind of a necessity for me during long travels and i would love to get this working 100%
Thank you in advance.

Bluetooth issue i9505

Dear forum,
really looking for some help with the bluetooth connection and/or some pointers into the right direction.
Before anyone asks, yes I have searched the forum(s) and googled days in a row, tried several builds and found a lot of bluetooth questions/issues but not this specific issue nor a solution.
Have a S4 i9505 which has a perfect bluetooth connection with my Renault Carminat system using the stock rom. As I had other issues with the stock rom, I rooted and upgraded the phone to Optimized LineageOS 14.1 (7.1.2). When pairing the phone to the car, it all works fine (it doesn't disconnect - which is a commonly reported issue). media streaming works fine, the car audio system also responds to the phone (and vice versa), contacts are imported etc. The big issue is however that there is no sound (nor receiving nor sending) when a call is received and/or intitiated.
In my quest to resolve this issue I let the dealer upgrade the firmware of the car audio system, tried with at least two different (but similar) S4 i9505 phones on custom roms, tried several other custom builds (from CM12 to CM14), tried an older but also the latest modem/BL for my region (XXSPQA1), tried some nightly builds but in all cases the exact same issue remains. Only when I go back to the stock rom, I have again a perfect bluetooth connection. A S5 (with stock Android 6) can connect to my system without issues as well.
So my thoughts are that the issue lies within custom roms as even a custom rom based on the same Android version as stock rom doesn't work properly.
Any thoughts what I can do more? Is it possible to copy the BT files from the stock rom and copy it to the custom rom? Any ideas? If it can help to post certain logs I will absolutely do so. Phone is on stock rom again now.
Thank you for your support!
I have exactly the same issue on my I9505, every time i connect to bluetooth (previous car, new car bluetooth speaker calling seems to work , but ther is no sound (only the end of call beep. and also, after disabling bluetooth, the sound is still not working ... i have to reboot my mobile to be able to call again. i hope this issue can be resolved
( when connecting to a bluetooth device for playing media blutooth works )
Same here. I hear a distortion sound when a call is made though. Worked fine with 5.X and broken in 8.0 and 8.1. I tried various modems as well. I even changed codecs in the developer options and didn't find one that worked. i9505

I9500: Fixing LineageOS (latest weekly build) & OpenGapps (ARM, 7.1, nano)

Hi,
Installed on S4 I9500 are
- Lineage-OS-14.1-20170811-UNOFICIAL-WEEKLY-ja3gxx
- open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20170812
Problems with the ROM
- I cannot make WhatsApp or Messenger calls with bluetooth ear piece connected (or with bluetooth on and ear piece unconnected) because bluetooth will cause phone to instant crash off every time. After crash off have to re-start to get phone back every time. I can make these calls successfully with bluetooth off.
- Google app cannot hear when I speak. It simply shows the "Listening" screen, but hears nothing.
- NFC functionality not working.
Can I do anything to fix these? or is there a more functional stable other ROM I can use.
I'm pleased with Lineage OS because there is no bloatware, it's stable and it's fast, but I need the functionality I have listed above.
Can anyone help?

1. I used Sony MW-600 Bluetooth Headset, and it's working fine
2. It is known bug on LOS
3. NFC working fine for me either
Same - Lineage-OS-14.1-20170811-UNOFICIAL-WEEKLY-ja3gxx
- open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20170812
installed on my phone
Are there plans to fix this bluetooth bug?
Anyone know why Google app cannot hear my voice?
Training "Ok Google" to my voice does not work either.
Is there a different ROM with nougat or Android 6.0 for i9500 where everything works?
Can I do anything to fix this. Is there a patch?

cannot sync phonebook with the car H918

I am having problem with my LG V20 tmobile version 918. I am unable to sync the BT phonebook with the car. Other phones don't have this problem, but my phone also worked with another car. I did manage to sync the phonebook once after I forced stopped both Bluetooth activities and cleared data/cashe. But it doesn't work any longer.
I purchased phone with 10k installed and yesterday I had it downgraded to 10j. Still no go. I have tried a fair number of things based on online discussions (copy contacts to phone - display only the phone contacts, bluetooth file transfer app) but no success. Any ideas how to deal with this problem?
Bluetooth phonebook seems to do the trick. I may end up rooting the phone to try different kernels to get the phonebook work correctly. Quiet frankly that would be the only reason to root as Immersive view is part of Nougat now (no longer need to have xposed). Any other solutions would be welcomed though... I hate to rely on app to get basic functionality.
