Hello Friends,
I unrooted my S8 yesterday by installing the latest stock firmware. One reason was, that Netflix didn't play any video on the device.
Now I can't even install Netflix from the Playstore due to incompatibility.
I downloaded the APK directliy from the Netflix help page, but If i want to start the app it says the App is not compatible to my device.
Is that because of the broken knox? Is there any workaround?
Any help appreciated, i dont want to buy a new phone because of one app.
Thanks
Apks from uptodown working

So after seeing that the transformer got netflix i went and tried the solution with out any changes.
*I take no credit for these files or figuring this out. I was just the lucky guy who decided to flash this first
1. Download both files
2. Install the netflix apk
3. Reboot Recovery
4. Install GT10.1Netflix_patch.zip via CWM
5. Reboot System
6. Enjoy
*************************
What the patch is doing is renaming the libnvomx.so in the /system/lib/ to a .bak
Then placeing then new one into /system/lib/
If there are any problems then you can use the libnvomx.so.bak so go back to default.
The libnvomx.so file is from a Xoom. Which does seem to work for our devices

So there it is folks... if you like it and it works well for you just tap the "Thanks" button for me
Pardon my ignorance, but how is this any different than just installing the APK file from yesterday? Who was this not working for (ie - what rom?)
Really no need to go through that much trouble. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1177969
The difference is that this should work with the Netflix updates to the app. So that you will not have to wait for a modded apk every time
What is in this patch file exactly?
Netflix up and running
I installed Netflix on my SGT today. Works perfectly. Didn't realize how many TV shows they offer (besides movies). For two bucks a week, it's worth it.
Does anyone know how to get this to work on the tab outside the US?

Thanks a bunch. Once I updated to UX I'd been having issues with my old .apk not working. Great! Now if I can finally get wifi tether working I'll be a happy "tabber".
Is there a problem that you are having?
Also is netflix in your country?
Should this fix my 12001 error I keep getting? The patched 1.3 does not work for me. I keep getting the same error.
I'm not sure about anyone else, but I've had the stock APK running just fine on HC 3.1 since I got my tablet last week.
I'm not rooted or anything, running nothing but the latest ROM update from Samsung, which is 3.1 of Honeycomb and I installed the offical APK of Netflix 1.3 and it has worked just fine, other than a lack of having video in correct HD settings.
I know this will take care of the 12001 error issue.. As for the HD issue. It did help me and a few others. I haven't had many people say anything about it. But that if you would like to try as well that would help me see if i can do anything about it, (if there is an issue).
The patch.zip simply renames the former file to a .bak just in case of any negative issues
Okay. So I have the stock apk installed and it runs well. My only issue is that I don't get full hd. Has this update fixed the hd issue for anyone?
Also, if/when Netflix launches official support for the GT is there any way to undo this? (if necessary)
Be aware that the "stock" apk is not working on the LTE version. It will open but gives an unable to communicate with server error.

You have to get a account from Strong Vpn.
I am paying 7,5 usd a month.
When you have the account from Strong , setup your device to use a vpn, and all your traffic will go thru that vpn. The ip address of the vpn will be an us one, and and netflix will allow you to sign in.

Correct, very annoying. So does this patch fix that problem? Has anyone confirmed?

As soon as there's a posting of a positive way to root I'd be glad to try as rooting this thing is also a different process.

Thats part of the beauty of this... its takes the original libnvomx.so file and renames it libnvomx.so.bak and then places the new file there. so that when the Offical app comes out you can simply revert back.. when that comes out i will add another zip to revert back to make it simple on everyone...
I am looking into the HD problem as we speak....
Hi, the reason i ask is because when i sideload apps from my n7 to my xperia play, they install fine. When i try to do it to my brothers phone (its not the best of phones tbh) it always says app not installed.
So i just wondered what the reason could be? And could this be overcome by rooting and manually installing it?
Thanks
Not yet. Android Jelly Bean 4.2 will though. Read about it on google.
I mean check hardware specs ect, not the actual app for malware
I know this is a bit off topic.. But some apps will soon be verified by your device id. This is the same id that google wallet uses. It will make it so when you but a app on one device you can NOT install it on another.Ti Backup already has a built in way to help with this during back up restore.
The above is only from what i have read and is likely not totally true as its not implemented yet so who really knows .

It's because the phone is not compatible with what you are trying to install (either in hardware or minimum Android OS version).
Is the app you are trying to install offered to the phone on the official Google marketplace? If not, then there is a reason why.....

Nope, its not offered, but sometimes they can work when not offered.
I was just wondering if that was simply the reason, or if the apps generally cant install on a phone without specific specs, i.e android version X or multitouch
Thanks for the answer
i forgot about this.. I have used aptoide to side load a few apps that i know work on nexus 7 but in the play store show not compatible..This is not meant to Pirate apps.. I used this to install a messenger app that would not install and a few games that i have purchased...
Hi
Can anyone help me to run this app on my note3?
the app name is EF Efekta Corporate, available on tablet play store only.
I downloaded the extracted apk from the internet and install it to my note3 and of course didn't work.
the message i got is : unsupported device, need to have 7 inch or larger display.
I have rooted note 3
stock rom 4.4.2
Help me if there is any solution? xposed, custom rom?
Thank you in advance.

UPDATE:
I have tried one xposed module called TabletMetrics!
on this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/27-tabletmetrics-report-screen-7-v2-2-t2596603
but no success after install it! i got same message!
That's odd, I've never had a tablet app tell me it's incompatible when I use the .apk...
It's likely the app itself has a specifications check that does this. If so, there is nothing to be done about it to my knowledge.
I recently installed AICP Nougat. Great ROM. However, I am unable to find apps like Netflix and Mario Run on the Play Store. I am unable to even install Netflix with an APK that I downloaded. Any ideas what would be causing this? I am in the USA, running X727 on Cricket (AT&T). I'm about to try Omni to see if that has the issue as well, but figured I would check here first.
Thanks.
Using latest Omni, can't find Netflix on Play. Maybe it has something to do with Android version and Netflix not supporting it.
I have the same issue with Omnirom. Downloaded Netflix app from Apk4fun and it runs fine; so it must be a Play Store issue.

Your link got me to a version I could install. Thanks!
Im facing the same issue!
I have AOSP Extended v4.4 i.e. android Nougat 7.1.1. The app i noticed missing was Monument Valley, I seriously thought of buying apps from now on to support devs but seriously this brings me back to pirating
Is there any method other than apk? Even GTA V manual is not supported in my phone!
It may be region related. I have Omnirom and I can install Netflix and Monument Valley. I live in Eastern Europe. I had problem when google store said that some game was not available in my region.
Do those ROMs fail SafetyNet? You might have to use Magisk or something. This is why I don't bother with custom ROMs or root anymore, unfortunately. My gaming apps search for SafetyNet and root, and it's a pain to get SafetyNet working every few months after an app detects any SafetyNet bypasses.
It's just because you are root...
I have root with Magisk and I can install Netflix and the rest on the latest Omnirom.
Got my new phone today.
It had the most recent update ready and I installed.
I know there has been several updates recently. Would all the prior updates have already be installed on the phone or do I need to get them from somewhere.
If I recall I have to load the essential camera app from the play store
THanks for your help
If your phone says no more updates are available then everything is current.
You ca't get the Google camera app from the Play Store, you'll need to download it from the camera thread in this same section and install it yourself.
OK thanks.

the stock essential camera app version is 0.1.078. If you dont have this version then you should get an update notification soon from the app store, as well as de the essential resourses app and another essential app.
