In title. I tried NEMESIS but it says incorrect PIN and the encryption entry box UI crashes every 2 seconds after encryption (with boot image reset to stock). Do any even support it?

Hi everyone!
We've got three Redmi Pro in our family (two 3/64 GB and one 4/128 GB) - and unfortunately, two of them have the very same MAC-Adress. And this causes constant WiFi-Problems!
I tried almost every App and the Engeneer Mode to change the WLAN-MAC-Adress on my Redmi Pro Exclusive 4/128 GB (MIUI 8.3 from xiaomi.eu, TWRP 3.1.1, SuperSu 2.82, Xposed Framework, BusyBox, SELinux Toggler,....) - but nothing worked.
In another thread somebody with a Redmi Note 4 (MTK X20) succeded with changing SELinux to permissive and then using ChameleMAC and/or Engeneer Mode. This made me optimistic, because the CPU is quite similar to our MTK X25....
But ChameleMAC says "Device not supported" and in Engeneer Mode, I can't change the adress either (also I "write" a new MAC-Adress several times...)
Any ideas or solutions? Every help is greatly appreciated!
UPDATE!
I could install the SELinux Toggler by flashing the ZIP with TWRP... and could finally change the WLAN-MAC-Adress (after a few attempts) with SELinux set to permissive and writing a new MAC-Adress within the Engeneer Mode...
The only strange thing is, that after the first reboot the MAC-Adress changed again to a completely new one. But since then, it stays the same so far...
If you haven't already, try a MAC spoofer - it won't change your mac permanently, but will temporarily change it to something else. Here's a tutorial.

Thanks for the tipp - but none of the MAC spoofers worked either...
But somehow I managed to change my WLAN-MAC-Adress with SELinux changed to permissive and writing a new MAC-Adress within the Engeneer Mode...
The only thing that is strange is, that after a reboot, I have a different (complete new) MAC-Adress...!?

Hi,
I have a S4 GT-I9505 running lineage_jfltexx Version 20190912 nightly.
After a few days, I was not able to unlock the screen with my pin.
When I entered the correct Pin, the unlock screen appeared again after a few seconds.
Entering a wrong pin gave an error message - wrong pin entered.
The current fix I'm using is:
Setting screen-lock-mode to 2 (instead of 0) in /data/system/profiles.xml
This disables the screen lock altogehter.
I found out a work around by creating a new user and a new profile with a lock-screen feature.
When I use the lock-screen feature profile, I cannot unlock as primary user (infinity loop).
Switching to the new user, I can unlock the phone, switch to a profile without lock and
switch to the primary user again.
So there has to be a problem with the user profile of the primary user.
How can I reset this profile for the system settings?
I tried clearing the system settings cache, but this did not work.
Thanks.
Hi fkno,
Same issue for me.
Do you succeed to deal with this issue in a better way?
Thanks

Not yet.
I tried to track the problem. Changing the pin / trying to unlock the phone and
see, which sections in the user profile got a new timestamp.
For me, it looks like it is in the com.google.android.gms section of the user profile.
I'm not sure, wether I can delete or overwrite this directory while the phone is running.
And if I delete this section, wether it will be recreated when rebooting the phone.
Hi,
Why don't you move to Lineage OS 17.1 ? It is awesome thanks to JDC team and LOS teams.

FYI, I have the same identical problem on LOS 17.1 but on a different device (marmite). This is an Android issue, not something related to this or that LOS version.
For starters, ive been using the same lockscreen pin on ALL of my devices for the past3 years, I know im using the right one. I recently installed the Evolution ROM and set it up with fingerprint and PIN. Fingerprint was working just fine, I rebooted the phone after installing a magisk module and now its telling me the pin for the lockscreen and TWRP is wrong. Again, I only use ONE pin and its telling me its wrong. Tried deleting the locksettings.db file to take off the screen lock and that worked but now phone just stays on "Phone is starting" and TWRP is still excrypted but lets me see all of my files, correct storage amount, and install zips.
When you installed did you format data?
I know this says Lineage, but it works for most custom ROMs, post #2 has the cliff notes version: [Guide]Installing Lineage
As for the locksettings.db, this isn't like older Android devices. You can't just do that, it doesn't fix the problem here.
Hi all,
Is there any Custom ROM running Android 11, with encryption working. I tried PE11 and Crdroid 7.4 and Arrow11.
All are going to boot loop, if encryption is initiated.
I'm looking for a ROM which can do encryption (for work purpose). It will be helpful, if someone can share working custom ROM tested.
Also is this some kernel issue or TWRP settings which is causing encryption to fail?
I would also love encryption. This is one of the persistent issues I have with custom ROMs and why I'm moving to a real Linux phone once they get a bit better.
Hi, after attempting to enable encryption I get an infinite boot loop animation, and after I force a hard reset (keeping the power button pressed) the phone boots back to normal as if nothing happened. This means that encryption was not even started (otherwise it would be needed to format partition again if the process was interrupted).
What are my options here? On previous Android versions, whenever I came across a Rom that didn't support encryption, I would just flash a stock recovery image alongside the custom rom and try encrypting again, successfully. However, there are no Android 11 stock recovery images for this device (it got abandoned in Android 8.1 I believe), so this isn't an option anymore.
Unfortunately this ROM doesn't seem to have a dedicated thread here on XDA and people on their Telegram channel have not been able to provide guidance so far...
Any tips are appreciated!
ROM: PixelExperience Plus 11 (Android 11) version 2021.05.14
Device: Moto G5 Plus (potter, XT1685)
Recovery image: TWRP 3.5.2_9-0-potter
I have found no v11 or v10 roms which work with encryption (even when they say they do). I have not tried many v9; Your answer is to go back to stock 8.1 and everything will work again (but you'll be on v8):
[Oreo][Stock][Rom] TWRP Flashable Stock Builds
About this project This project provides repackaged Stock Oreo roms that can be flashed by TWRP. Modifications from stock are listed below. As we are now moving into the Oreo world, I've decided that now is a good time to make a few changes...

edit: note that i'm on xt1687 (usa) model of potter
edit2: I just tried Arrow v10(official) and it encrypts (after a number of reboots; give it time)

hi, in the case of PE+ 11, it just goes to reboot the first time and stays in loading android screen forever (waited a couple hours last time), so I think "giving it more time" wouldn't solve it.
Good to know there's some Rom compatible with encryption though, although it's android 10... I also got a hint that crDroid 11 may be compatible with encryption on potter.
