Which problems exactly?
Too dim or bright? Flickering? Problems with the auto brightness?
At least a few informations about the issues should be included when creating a new thread.

Go to Settings>Brightness or whatever its called in english, try manually lowest and highest brightness.
If it works > delete this widget, use better coded ones.
If the screen goes off > hardware issues.

i just try manually lowest and highest brightness. and my screen goes off =(
For brightness, I use LUX app, I manually set brightness levels according to light level!
Asking for help is asking a question so please post threads like this here in Q&A in future. Also try to be as descriptive as possible to help people help you.
Thanks
AvRS
my brightness slider doesn't work at all, tried the lux program, only subzero works but from zero to backlight its the same, no dim to turn off display.
i backed up and reformated and the brightness does work now, my one was stuck at 50%, it broke some time ago, maybe updating to 4.1.2 or developer animations disabled.
i will occur again soon, hopefully google releases another update.
Hi there,
I'm using Google Cardboard quite a bit. In the latest NucleaRom (Nougat 7.1/CM 14.1) I have come across the following:
-- DPI is set to 420 via Nuclear Tweaks
-- in Google Cardboard, the view area is somehow scaled down to a fraction (full screen before, now it's about 1/4 of the screen) of what it used to be? => see as well the vid of somebody else with the same problem: http://youtu.be/UPJoNlolF0o
Anybody else had that problem and could fix it?
Many thanks in advance for any help/hints/suggestions
You must set it to 400 DPI.

Thank you for the answer, but that didn't do anything.
Can you please confirm, that it works on your device with NucleaRom 7.1?
Thank you

I had that same issue with cm14 and that seemed to do the trick, I hadn't tried cardboard yet so I didn't know about this issue and exactly the same has happened to me with Nuclear 7.1 . After using an app called vr calibration for cardboard and trying to calibrate it seemed that increasing screen to lens distance seemed to do the trick. Try it out and tell me how it works for you.
Edit: After editing the profile and trying it out with another app it is still the same so I guess it will stay like that whatsoever. We'll have to tell to Nuclear devs.

Well, in the mean time I went to https://vr.google.com/cardboard/viewerprofilegenerator/ and created my own 'viewer' by exaggerating the "Screen to lens distance" and the "Inter-lens distance". => Trial and Error

you want to use Google Chrome browser. Then, once called the above mentioned URL, you can "Save or Load Viewer Parameters". There you can paste following URL: http://google.com/cardboard/cfg?p=C...CAABIQgAASEIAAEhCWAE1KVwPPToICtcjPArXIzxQAGAA
Those are settings for the "Homido Mini" device (please keep in mind theyr'e counter compensating the screen resolution).
After pasting the settings URL, you need to click on the blue "Generate Profile" button. This will give you a DataMatix, that you need to scan via Cardboard as a new viewer (the same for Street View, btw.)
best regards
This method works on Oxygen OS Oreo ( Stable 5 and beta 19/29 ) are confirmed to be working. This currently only works on rear camera and only if the subject is a human or a pet. Also HDR + works without any issues.
Steps -
1. Download this apk.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZwqW9cxta6mh56-QmcrnA06xPq1B0v-n/view
2. If you already have a conflicting app installed, first uunistall t then install this to be on the safe side.
3. Open the app, set the proper config and done.
( I'll later share the video showinf everything step by step and the best configuration too. )
Just a heads up that I can't upload a sample picture of portrait mode as I don't want to reveal my identity here but after trying it in a bunch of situations I found out that it works alomst as good as the original pixel 2 but only for human subjects, i.e you need to have human face in the viewfinder.
Configuration -
P.S - I'm not the developer of the app, in this thread I just intend to share the version that works best for me along with a configuration.

For AR stickers ( confirmed working on OP3T OB20 only)
Download and install the modified ar apps and then flash this zip in recovery.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pBDMgsIQWcz6qgWL09yG6ppT7bsTDy1J/view
As suggested the @thes3usa
After testing with many subjects in bright lighting, portrait mode works only with Humans and sometimes pets as mentioned in OP. Does not work with objects.
Face Retouching works.
HDR+ works
60FPS recording works
Slow-mo still broken
AR stickers works.
Only work on rear cam
to be deleted..

It's the same. But you have to read through the posts. Arnova is the dev of this mod. His work is based on BSG gcam Port. Last gcam version 1.4 has portrait mode. Just enable it in the advanced settings in the app. As I've mentioned... Read through the thread

Instead of searching multiple threads and comments for which version of an app is the best for Exynos Note 9, I wanted to make this thread as a collection, and as updated as possible. Every good confirmed app I will add to the first post. I will only link to official links. I'm not a developer. Lets keep each other informed in the comments about performance of apps, better versions, ...
Here we go:
1. Gcam for Oreo. Source: celsoazevedo.com
- Arnova & BSG: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gca...va-based_v.1.3c_fix_TlnNeun_xcam_5_beta11.apk
This is the most recent version. Allmost all modes work, error now and then. Includes Nightshift and working Portrait mode. No Root
- Arnova & BSG: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-based_v.1.3d_TlnNeun_2.apk
This was suggested in an other thread, but I got very bad perfermance on this. No Root
- IDan: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/GCam_5.1.018.177470874.41362666_IDan_N6_4.1_fix.apk
Stable but older version. No nightshift. No Root
installation:
1. Uninstall previous versions of Gcam
2. Clean Storage/cache from Device maintenance settings or via widget
3. Install .apk
This thread is a work in progress..

Unfortunately I've tried every possible combination of libs+model+exposure and can't seem to find one that produces images as good as IDan one in the OP. Yes its based on the 5.1 version but portrait works, exposure works, HDR+ works. 6.1 the modes do work...but you get bleach white images, not my style, probably a minimalist filter

This is what I did and it works.
1 if you have a Gcam installed, uninstall.
2 go to settings > device maintenance > storage > clean now
3 install APK from first link, the beta 11 version
4 open the app
5 don't change any settings!
6 then go to "more" > Night Sight
7 ..
I'm on Oreo btw

On my note 9 the 3.5 version does not work. I find another apk that works quite good: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mf..._yUAqD7zupjNnC7jOj3o92-nscuo5tJiT9aTGyQV8UXt8
This app works for the Samsung Galaxy s9 Exynos, running One UI with Android Pie, ALSO with the latest security patch ( 1.1.2019 ). I can confirm this after a brief testing for about 1 hr.
The settings which gave me beautiful shots in the day and in the night are these...
Correction of auto-exposure hdr+ - sure shutter
HDR+ Parameters - 24 bursts
Lock HDR+ Frames - turned on
HDR+ under exposure multiplier - 75 Percent
Inside the HDR+ settings sub menu-
Denoise multiplier 160/170
Highlight saturation 1.3
Shadow saturation 1.8
Antibanding mode - auto / 60 hz
In the developer options sub menu check mark these

Thank you for this recommendation! It is really the first version working for me. The only disatvantage is lack of NightSight mode. Do anybody has it working in any compilation on Exynos and Pie?
I'm using GCAM 7.0.009 and with some adjustments for mi9 it's working fine on Syberia ROM.
If you wanna try, restore my titaniumbackup:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/11R0ImK-x7Acpu3MCRJXub0wa0IcQDvhq/view?usp=drivesdk
I've found only one thing could be better, the sharpness is a bit too low and there's no setting.
May be there's a developer who knows how to get more sharpness it would be fine to tell us how.
Today I've recognized that sharpness is only a bit too low in dark scenes. In daylight it's perfect.
Slomo is crashing but every other functions are pretty fine.
I'm now happy with gcam 7.02.10

Hi to all
Did someone tried the gcam 7 ?
For me this version is very good with a bit higher quality as the lower gcam versions. Only slomo isn't working but it's useless for me and I'll think also for a lot of others.
I've recognized if you use advanced settings for focus tracking then you can't make a video, if you disable tracking then it works.
