Web pages doesn't load on Oneplus 5 - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Greetings,
So web pages doesn't load on certain apps like Google chrome stable, DuckDuckGo browser, Gmail (the loading circle keeps on spinning forever), and Inbox. The blue circle keeps spinning forever. Even the video ads don't load.
Though internet works just fine on apps like Youtube, Reddit, Firefox (Stable and Nightly), Chrome Dev, etc.
I have a rooted Oneplus 5 and this issue started after upgrading to Pie Open beta 22 yesterday.
I have tried:
Factory reset
Dirty Flashing
Reinstalling
Changing Wifi's
Mobile Data
Clearing app caches, cookies, and storage data
Please help me. Thank you.
Edit: Play store works fine for me.
Edit2: Completely uninstalling chrome from system and reinstalling as a system app works for chrome. But, this still doesn't work for Inbox, Gmail, and DuckDuckGo.
Edit3: Okay chrome stopped working again. Making it a system app disable webview app and makes Chrome the default app for implementation. So, it has stopped working again.
Edit 3: Okay either shell hide or magisk prop config modules from magisk were the problem. Removing them fixed it. Thank you everyone for your time.

Try Stable OOS
It happened to me too, try flashing previous ROM and it should work fine. But problem with Google Play Store Continues

But Play Store and Photos works fine for me. But searches from assistant or through Google Now don't work.

Weird, web pages are working fine for me. I'm using ob22, rooted and I deleted the compatibility zip.
YouTube isn't working for me though. Trying to find a fix. I can still go to YouTube.com though, just the app is broken

Have you updated your Android system web view app? Most apps are using this to load their content and be more light weight.

Go into Developer options and look for the Webview setting. Make sure something is selected. (As you have Chrome installed, select that).

I updated my WebView app. Still no luck. Tried completely uninstalling the app from system and reinstalling it. Didn't work.
Tried changing the WebView implementation from Webview to Chrome from developer options. Still nothing.

The Webview app was selected before, I tried changing it to chrome but still the same. Somehow uninstalling chrome completely from system and reinstalling works. But that still doesn't work for Gmail, Inbox, and DuckDuckGo. I tried all possoble combinations with Webview, Chrome, and Chrome Dev.
Edit: Okay changing chrome to system app brings back the problem.

The same thing literally just happened to me an hour ago except it happened with chrome. Did you reboot after warping data? That worked for me after willing data alone didn't.
Happens to me to on multiple android devices on chrome. Stock browser works OK.
Have the same issue with naked browser pro but only on xda,no other sites. Wiped data and rebooted which didn't help
This happens to me of all places here on xda with Chrome. Switching over to Firefox dose it for me.
Try this, Go to settings and sign with your gmail account and start browsing. Profit?
Press thank if I helped you. :good:

Can't install downloaded apk's

The first thing I did when I got this phone (Verizon XT1585) a couple months ago was to upgrade it to the latest (25.226.5) stock ROM, then factory reset. I then disabled a bunch of the stock apps, of which I will provide a list below. I enabled unknown sources, under security in settings, and was able to install downloaded apk's such as an old version of Google camera (I like the photo sphere function) and Seven Adclear. In fact, it was in trying to run the update that Adclear keeps bugging me about that I discovered this issue.
The behavior is essentially that I cannot tap the install button when trying to install downloaded apk's. The button is not greyed out, just won't accept clicks. Clicking cancel works fine. I have ruled out any touchscreen issues with that and any other region of the screen.
I have tried clearing cached data from the storage item under settings, as well as wiping the cache partition under settings. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be any option for dalvik cache anywhere.
Any ideas?
List of disabled apps:
Amazon
Amazon Kindle
Android Pay
Audible
Caller name ID
Cloud
Cloud print
Connect
Email
Google play movies and TV
Google play music
Hangouts
Imdb
Message+
My Verizon
Nfl mobile
Slacker radio
Support and protection
Vz navigator
YouTube
there is an app that is causing an overlay problem. Many times apps that assist with brightness settings will not allow you to install apps while they are running. Like Lux, Darker, etc.
Lux! That was it!!!

Awesome. yeah I had that same problem for awhile.

Text in chrome is disappearing.

Hey I have pretty strange problem with my Galaxy Note 4. From some time when I browse websites in Chrome text are starting to disappear/glitch. After you scroll up and down several times everything is ok (in most cases). I tried removing cache, data, uninstalling all updates and installing them again and no luck.
Did you try other browsers like Firefox or Samsung Internet?
I resolved my issue by using Chrome Canary.
Works like a charm.
@raul6 the default browser is ok. Didn't try Firefox. @IficanUcan2 this issue is that I don't want another browser

Adaway + Chrome = Still seeing Google Ads w/o WiFi

Adaway + Chrome = Still seeing Google Ads w/o WiFI
Chrome Datasaver is off.
The webpage I'm using to reproduce this behaviour is: https://www.20minutos.es
When I'm on WiFi Google Ads won't show, if I go back to data and refresh they appear.
I'm suspicious this is happening because Google Chrome comes as an installed app system level, although Chrome Beta has the same behaviour.
Trying to reproduce this in any other browser won't show the Google ads or any kind of ad in the same page under the same conditions.
Any ideas?
Reboot? I see no and with adaway
Nice thanks

Try the Energized Protection Magisk Module.

Yeah I always reboot after applying adaway.
Did clean install of latest oxygen OS version (9.0.10) still can see ONLY Google Ads. Other kind of ads are successfully removed.
This only happens in chrome browsers only when using data
Other browsers don't show any kind of ads either in WiFi or data.
Have you tried the above link and didn't see any when using data?
I have 2 other phones and couldn't replicate. The only difference I see is that the other phones don't have chrome installed by default (system level) and OOS has it.

Thank you for the suggestion.
Downloaded it through Magisk search and those ads are still there.
Considering to move to firefox focus.
I'm not rooted, but, I use Adguard, and that site shows no ads for me.

Suddenly apps crashing; wipe storage to fix... seems to be Google issue

Hi folks,
I've got a stock 6013, fully up to date on Android 10, never rooted or anything, and suddenly the Gmail app started crashing. Every time I would open it, it would crash within a second. At first I thought it was just that app. I wiped storage for Gmail, and things seemed back to normal. Then I noticed certain other apps... but ONLY CERTAIN APPS... started doing the same thing. Wiping their storage restored them. Even going into the Google Search bar results in a crash within a second or two.
It's not a hardware fault... I just finished a half an hour of Angry Birds 2 ( ) with no problems. But now Gmail is acting up again. Tapatalk was a problem once, but clearing its storage restored it and it seems stable.
Anybody else seeing very weird repeated app crashes that happen within a second or so of starting said app?
Marc
I'm having the exact same problem. This started 4-5 hours ago. Before noon PDT, a game I was playing worked fine, but by 1pm, I saw the same symptoms. Gmail is also crashing for me, as well as Oxygen Updater and the Amazon Shopping app.
Clear system cache.
Try using factory load for gmail and Google Play Services. Clear the latter's data.
Delete Google account and recreate if the above doesn't work.
Google Play Services is probably the culprit.

Thanks. Did that and went through https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/9037938?hl=en as well. Once that was done, uninstalling and reinstalling the offending apps seems to get them working. It was definitely Google Play Services throwing a huge tantrum. I haven't messed with Gmail yet, but Pocket Casts and Amazon shopping are back up after uninstall/reinstall. Thanks!

Doesn't hurt anything to clear Google Play Services data, I do it weekly.
I also package block it except as needed like for Gmail.
Disable Google Firebase if you don't use it; data miner and a resource hog.

Not good
I rarely update OS's anymore, even with app updates I keep backup copies of the older version(s) if needed.
Since Q, Google has been on a downward spiral with Android. I'm not impressed.
As long as I have a fast, stable platform that fullfills its mission, I leave it be.
Even a malware forced factory reset be less time consuming then trying to adapt to Google's concept of "improvement".
Thanks folks. It was the issue @meowingtv cited. Last night I found a temporary fix was to roll back the Android System Web Viewer app, which I did. This morning I saw the all-clear that it was ok to re-update it and Chrome at the same time. All good now, but this was a SERIOUS CLUSTER.
