Hi friends i updated my mi a1 to pie, done hard reset after update and set my phone from beginning with pie update. But having a problem no mater what i do i can't get weather to show near at glance, just show date and no weather. I can ask assistant for weather and it tells me but thats it. If that is the case that i can't make weather icon to show near at glance i would rather to completely remove at glance! Is that possible and how? Regards
You can try by resetting Google discover preferences in Google now settings.
That worked for me.

In your case it should be under "Your Feed".
Feed is renamed to Discover by Google recently.
I thought that you did get that update.
Disabling and reenabling google app helps it, works it's show weather until next time weather needs to be refreshed then disappears and appears at wil. Cant find the catch, and if someone knows on which time interval google refreshes weather widget. tnx everyone

The workaround or "catch" , as you say, for me at least is to turn WiFi on.
When I'm on mobile data weather just don't refresh itself.
Tried everything else, but this is what works always.

Can confirm it works on Evil Alex, but not sure if I get the audio notifications yet.
I was also under the assumption, a pop-up card would appear when near a point of interest.

I think that it takes a few days for it to gather data. Then, when it has enough, and sees a pattern it will start to present you with the cards.
I haven't had it long enough to take, so I don't show cards yet either. But from what I've read that's the deal.

for talkback you need to click the little settings icon in bottom right corner of google now...a whole bunch of settings come up, go to places and set as you like. also check use google.com instead of native to get images with the results cards,.
the google now will recognize after a few days that you leave to go to a certain place each day, then ask if you wanna set it as your place of work, it then starts to give you updates as to when you should leave to arrive on time and such.

That is because of the drawable settings , I noticed this also and I'm trying to fix it , I'm close to solution.
EDIT:
Here you go , this one deletes voicesearch.apk also and installs the Google_Now.apk (Velvet) modded so it only shows a Search icon and mic icon in left corner and not the 2 google icons.
Flash with cwm , it should work on G100W / A500 and A501
This is how it looks now.

I get the same but weirdly I have a gap between the card and search results which, iirc, was where the slider used to be?
i see google updated 'google search' and google now on feb 14 with 'new' weather cards and other updates. looks like they took this feature away. dammit i have 'eye in the sky' weather but it galls me to always have to go to 3rd party apps for something as simple and elegant as the hourly slider to see the weather. i ride bikes alot during the day and used that to help gauge when it is raining and not to get a riding window in.

I miss this feature a lot!!! They really took away from Google Now by doing this IMO.
Google Now used to open the browser. you can do this yourself, but it sucks that Google Now is not integrated in the same way.
if you open chrome and in the address bar type 'weather' it will take you to the same screen that Google Now used to.
Same issue, sucks that slider was dope.
You can just go to Google in Chrome but I liked it better the way it was before.

The problem is tapping the weather card used to send "weather" as a url to the browser, but now it sends it to search. You can get the old card by typing weather in the browser until they fix it.

This started happening with my Nexus 7 months ago and I didn't know why it suddenly stopped. I was happy that it was still being displayed on my Nexus 4, but that just stopped as well in the last couple of weeks.
I noticed that you can still get the slider without having to manually type "weather" into the omnibox. Just:
i) scroll down then up and you should see a scrollable menu pop up at the bottom of the content window.
ii) Swipe from right to left on that menu and you should see a "phone" icon.
iii) Click on that, you'll get the option of searching weather again and some links will be displayed. Just click the Google Search link and it will show the results with the old slider.
This is a lot more cumbersome and annoying, so I hope they fix this soon.

Usually you click it once and it's gone for good.
Some apps still don't display correctly such as Microsoft Remote Desktop when you tap for entire screen.
Pretty annoying really
Add me to the list of people who find this really irritating! I get it on all my (Nova Launcher) home screens, and in a selection of apps (haven't figured out yet why some apps show it and others don't).
Subscribing to the thread in the hope that somebody will figure out a way to make it go away!
This is quite simple actually:
Go to Settings, then display, then full screen and then toggle all apps to full screen and, voila!

But I don't want the apps full screen, and I have actually toggled them all to OFF in that setting.
Hence I'm annoyed at constantly getting a useless message on my screen.

I am not worried about those... Again some apps do not display correctly in full screen so therefore I don't want to place them in full screen but instead I'm pestered to do it, what was wrong with the bubble notification that came up before?
tap here to fill entire screen
same problem with google phone dialer as it doesnt support full screen...plz help..!how to get rid of tap here to fill entire screen.
For me it just disappears after a minute. For example kodi get stretched if using fullscreen and if I disable fullscreen it disappears.
hope that somebody found the solution
It only appears at new installed apps that are opend for the first time.. after clicking it it never reappears

Yes, this is definitley annoying to be constantly there, and for video apps that aren't optimized for full screen. Like MLB At Bat games are shifted to the left side of the screen with one black bar on the right and it just looks weird. I'd rather have black bars on both sides or at least be able to stretch it out to full screen.

I think the problem is that some apps will not show correctly in full screen mode so anytime I use the app in normal mode there will be a line show " Tap here to fill the entire screen "
Add me also here !!! so annoyed ! !
Add me too
So I am having this issue in Chrome which essentially gives you no back button when browsing. How stupid. So I just figured out that if I scroll to the bottom of a sight, sort of like the opposite of dragging a screen down to refresh, you drag it up from the bottom and you get a black semi circle thing show up. Click on it somehow while it appears and then you get the menu back, but it says double click the dot on the left to make it locked in.
And... it seems to have fixed it across all of my apps, not just Chrome! That's all I have for now.. hope it helps

Noice I did feel it being faster
got one ui 2.1 update in Pakistan...fingerprint feels hella fast than before....firmware is off course availabile on sam mobile...try it out...definitely u ll feel difference in fingerprint
What i did:
i recorded one finger a bit over 50%, then i use the same finger of the other hand to fill it up to 100%.
This procedure i repeated twice for another two fingers.
It doesn´t make it that faster, but it´s much more comfortable, because i can use 6 instead of 3 fingers.

I logged into my android head unit using my google account (gsuite) and was forced to setup a screen pin lock.
Now every time I start the car it boots into the Lock Screen and there is no way to remove it, I removed the account and it still shows there.
Even when I disable google smart lock and find my device it gets automatically enabled after reboot.
Anyone know how I can get the screen lock menu again it doesn’t show in settings/security but it disappeared.
I hope someone can help

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm having the exact same issue.
Yes i removed it in the end
from the play store download shortcut maker, you can create a shortcut for anything on your android device or search all the plugins and modules.
Search for pin or passcode or screen lock and it will show you all the apps that have that word in the menu including System settings.
Create the shortcut, and keep trying until you find it.
Once you find the right menu run it and you will get that menu again and disable it.
the shortcut maker application will let you find hidden menus that you can’t access on your screen
if you are still stuck I’ll send you a photo of the shortcut I created
Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting it fixed using a similar method.
I used Nova Launcher to create an Android activity shortcut/widget on the desktop.
It took a lot of scrolling and trial and error, but in the end the activity that got it done was called .password.ScreenLockSuggestionActivity.
Thanks!

I just figured out how to fix this, and deleting Credentials and disabling through the regular settings menu does not work. I downloaded an app from the Play Store called Android Settings X. There you can reach the hidden settings. Choose "Choose screen lock (SetupChooseLockGeneric)" to remove the Screen Lock. Bam, fixed!

If that option doesn't work there is another one, 2 options down, called "Settings (ScreenLockSuggestion)". This is the only way I know of that actually removes the Lock Screen and will not revert back.
My issue with screensaver is when I first start the unit the first time I use a SWC it turns the screensaver on! Only does it once and then it is fine and SWC function as intended until next time the unit is restarted. I dont think it is an issue on android end as I have the screensaver turned off in there and when turned on it looks different, I think it has something to do whatever settings there is in the headunit as it has an option for screen saver to be: screen off or customize (which is a clock but no options to customize...)
I cant find any information on how to fix this issue anywhere and it seams I may have bought a strange android stereo (B200?) as I find all information I find is irrelevent and looks different to how mine is.
