My H990DS has started losing its GPS connection every few minutes, which makes Google Maps navigation quite tricky. Has anyone else had any problems with maintaining a GPS signal?
As odd as it sounds, if you have PowerSaver on, try GPS with PowerSaver shut off. I had that issue on the Samsung S6 with GPS and that oddly was the issue.
Thanks.
I now think its an aerial problem as wifi is also not available. Where do I find the aerial on this phone?

I am using Oddesey Mobile and a bluetooth GPS but it loses connection at random times like when I lose phone signal especially if I have beam turned off. Never had a problem with my Wizard set up the same way though. Any thoughts ??? Set to com port 6 under Nav software and external GPS.cpl, not a secure port. Bauld rate at 34400. Could it be a problem relating to the WIFI issue with pages not loading in the browser even though you are connected or something similar?? Any help would be much appreciated.
First, I apologize if this question has been covered before. I've searched extensively but sometimes I miss the obvious.
I'm trying to find a way to have my phone automatically disconnect itself from my router when the signal is weak without turning off the wifi radio. I've found apps that automatically turn off the radio when the signal is weak, then intermittently turn it back on to see if the signal has improved, but this isn't exactly what I'm looking for.
There are certain areas in my house (and backyard) where my phone still sees the router, but the signal is so poor the 3G is actually (significantly) faster. But Android doesn't switch you over to 3G until the wifi signal is actually lost.
I know if you leave the range of your router but leave the radio on, the 3G takes over automatically and the wifi radio runs in the background, silently searching for a connection. So is there any way to use this functionality to tell your phone to disconnect the wifi automatically if the signal is incredibly weak (but still connected)?
My first thought was to set up a Tasker profile of some kind, but I haven't had any luck. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately connecting/disconnecting wifi using Tasker is not possible.
when I owed droid X I had the same issue, I flashed custom baseband and it helped
My AT&T Note 3 started to have GPS problems (likely when switching from 3G/4G/LTE during drive)
While there seems to be no good fix for this issue, I've found that simply turning off GPS and on will restore GPS instantly.
So I thought I'd use Tasker to do this:
whenever "GPS Signal LOST" restart GPS.
Problem is I'm not sure if there is a function/variable to flag "GPS signal lost".
Can anyone advise?
Thanks
Requisite "I did the search clause": So I did a google search for Audio Path, and audio path resetting when connecting to Wi-Fi, and I'm getting hopelessly unhelpful results. So I'm coming here in the hopes that someone has seen this before.
Hi all!
So I have a strange, and WILDLY annoying issue. You know how there's that "audio path" drop down in the navbar pull down? The moment I saw that, I was so excited. Unfortunately, it's become a major hassle.
Here's the scenario:
So I have my LG Bluetooth headset, or my car stereo, connected to my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Snapdragon, from T-Mobile. If the device automatically connects or disconnects from a Wi-Fi AP, the phone immediately switches to the speakers in the phone. It doesn't actually disconnect from the bluetooth device, but I have to switch it back to the headset to fix it. The second the wifi connection bounces, it does it again. This happens whether it bounces because I lose signal, get within range of an AP, or manually toggle wifi. If there's nothing connected, and I toggle wifi, nothing happens. It's as if the action of connecting to a wifi access point or disconnecting is causing the issue. I'm literally having my phone suddenly blare my music at work, (cubicle is in a wifi low coverage zone) and it's driving me nuts.
I did do a factory reset, and it seemed to have fixed it temporarily, but now it's back.
Please tell me one of you has seen this happen and knows a fix? I'm praying you do. Lol.
Having the same issue here and it was hard to find something useful on Google.
I have the Exynos variant of the S7 Edge.
Interesting. It still happens from time to time with me and I have a snapdragon. Here's a question, do you have netflix installed?
Wife and I recently applied the Nougat update that was pushed out. However, now both our phones have GPS issues. We use apps that require a GPS connection. Up until now, those apps worked from our home and our workplace. However, since the update, the apps keep giving us GPS errors.
I notice that Google Maps also can's show me where I'm actually at. Sometimes it works, but only for a few minutes. I downloaded GPS Status and Toolbox and it can't get a lock from my desk.
Is there any fixes out there that address the GPS signal strength, post Android 7.0?
Thank you!
Having no GPS problems on my Sprint S7
Under the Location settings I have "Locating Method" set to "High accuracy" and both "Wi-Fi scanning" and "Bluetooth scanning" disabled under "Improve accuracy"
Have you tried factory reset?
That seems to fix some of the various issues that people are having through the Nougat update.
I'll try turning those off and see how it goes.
No, didn't want to do a factory reset, if I didn't have to... Such a pain in the arse.
Thank you!
Any luck with this? The factory reset didn't work for me on my Sprint S7, I still have GPS issues and now I've lost app data to Runtastic and ToMarket GPS settings are the same as DankNuts.
Since the nougat update, It happens every time I use Runtastic (every other day). When it happens, I notice that Maps is also showing the wrong location (anywhere from where I'm at to a mile away). I've tried the app GPS Test (clearing and updating AGPS) and numerous phone restarts. At first those seemed to work. Now I try clearing the cache of apps that use GPS and that has worked long enough for my 90 minute run.
One thing that I just realized now, is that when I start Waze or navigation I don't seem to have the problem. I may need to test with a combination of those and Runtastic.
satellite problem
I installed gps statua software and it says 0/0 satellites. Gps essentials software says location provider cell.
For me it seems that the gps module would not somehow "turn on"
Edit: if i change in samsumg setting 'location method' to 'device only' gps essentials says location provider "unknown"

Click to collapse
did you solve it? I think tomorrow I'll go to samsung assistance..
better gps solution
Goto settings; location; then top-right scanning, switch off wifi scanning and also bluetooth
Because there is a conflict with wifi and gps.
Help with several devices.
