Hello!
I have successfully installed nightly for i9505 (jfltexx).
Checking the phone settings I can see that this Baseband-Version is installed:
I9505XXUBMGA
I checked for other modem files in order to adapt to my local 3G service provider (Vodafone DE) and found this file I9505XXUHOF2_I9505VFRHOF3_VD2.
Question:
Is it recommended to replace modem file (=Baseband-Version)?
If yes, how do I have to proceed?
If no, why not?
I have already tried to flash "I9505XXUHOF2_I9505VFRHOF3_VD2.rar" using Odin 3.10, but then I ended up in bootloop with Samsung FW.

You are not in the right place. You need to move to general section.
@Yousvel: He's in Q&A, which is the correct place. General is for tutorials and similar stuff, not questions.
@c.monty: Changing the baseband to an Android 5.x version may help improve signal over a 4.x baseband. Other than that, changing the baseband won't "adjust" the phone to be more compatible with the carrier, so don't bother.

Ok my friend. When I wrote this it was in development section. Mod moved it .
Gotcha. Should have realized that.
I changed to a carrier specific modem (also Vodafone) and it didn't do crap. Same data speed, same signal strength, same everything.
Even if there were any changes, they are very small and unnoticeable.
You don't flash it as .rar. The modem files should have .tar extension. And you put it in CP field if I'm not mistaken
If you do want to flash a modem then check out the thread in the general section. Or search for the latest S4 lollipop baseband and download it.
OK.
My first attempt to flash another modem file failed.
I did some further investigation and found a firmware including a modem file fitting to my carrier and country: I9505XXUFNC4_I9505XEGFNC2_XEG
According to this instruction guide I unzipped the file and then extracted file "modem.bin" from this file I9505XXUFNC4_I9505XEGFNC2_I9505XXUFNC4_HOME.tar.md5
After this a installed modem.bin with Odin 3.09 and this succeeded w/o error.
However, when I reboot the phone and check the settings, I get this:
Baseband-Version I9505XXUBMGA
This indicates to me that the modem.bin from I9505XXUFNC4 was not flashed.
So, what went wrong?

Here is the modem file of N9108V latest 5.1.1 rom.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/43585946/note 4 n9108v modem N9108VCHM1CPF2.rar
However, possibly you will not be able to load it to the N910F phone, unless you are a wizard and will do magic stuff
I was trying to do the opposite, to load to N9108V the modem file of N910F but no success...
thank you for the file
just tried to flash it via twrp backup, replace and rename the modem file and restore. twrp showed succesfully flashing but it didn't flash.
I looked with a hex editor at the file and realized the 9108 has a MDM9225 modem and the 910F has a 9235 modem... sadly
Hi, Installed a custom rom but it didn't detect my sim so i flashed a 6.0 EU modem but i forgot to backup... I tried installing other ROMS but no sim on either of them which has worked before. So i flashed the out of the box stock firmware through adb and reset everything but no sim detection on stock either... How do i get my connection back?
I have a GT-i9500.
When I flashed the official 4.4.2 firmware (not for my country), it was showing Baseband version as unknown and null imei. I then flashed a modem.bin file, got it from the link provided in description of a YouTube video. Now I'm able to see my contacts, baseband version and IMEI too. But when I attempt to make a call it says not registered on network. I tried manually selecting my network but that didn't work. Isn't there any method without flashing my stock rom using odin as my Internet speed sucks so can't download it?
Any fix????
Note: I didn't downgrade my device but came from a perfectly working 4.4.2 custom ROM(SIM worked too) to stock 4.4.2 for some reasons.
I reverted to the latest stock firmware from my region and carrier with odin and it doesn't even detect my sim card. I tried restoring radio and efs from a previous rom I had, but it still doesn't work. I even had to manually flash the csc files because they didn't exist. It still shows "baseband unknown".
Try flashing Custom rom
