After rooting my SM-J730F with Magisk my SIM card is no longer detected and i get no service. I installed a stock 8.1 android rom and my phone was working fine. I installed twrp and my phone was working fine but after flashing Magisk via twrp my phone no longer detects my SIM card. I've tried the 17.1 and 17.3 version but it's the same result each time. The root is working fine though. What can I do here?
Edit: I cleared cache after rooting and it seems to have fixed my problem!
Please help me if I am having the same problem!

My phone was working fine and it was rooted but i wanted to give out a try to xposed for nougat so i installed but it was so unstable i decided to uninstall it, but since then my phone keeps telling me that it cannot detect root, so i formatted my phone and installed b19 using miflash then supersu 2.79 which was the one i was using previously with no hassle at all but it keeps telling me same crap over and over i do not know what to do :/ any help would be appreciated thanks
I am assuming you installed twrp right? Did you use toolkit or did you follow traditional process?
As the title states, is there any way to achieve root on the newest build for the US996 unlocked version? I have the bootloader already unlocked, but unfortunately it had already been updated to the latest software, I can get TWRP to install just fine but when I try to install Magisk after wiping data in twrp, I keep getting the same problem on bootup where it says "Encryption unsuccessful" and the only way I can get around that is by flashing back to 100% stock and factory resetting. Am I missing something? Is there any way to get around that problem? I also tried installing a custom rom based on stock (alpha rom) but that didn't work either, any help is appreciated.
well for anyone wondering, I was able to get root and a custom ROM installed. Instead of wiping data like so many guides say to do, I put magisk and the alpha ROM file on an external SD card, skipped decryption in TWRP, mounted the SD card, and installed the ROM and magisk. Didn't have to bother with encryption or anything weird. I made sure to do it after a clean install to minimize any problems that may arise from not wiping. I haven't found a way to do it without an external SD card sadly.
@rusty815, thanks for following up on your own thread with the solution. I just cancelled a purchase for an H918 after reading too late that it won't take the dirtycow root exploit after H91810j, and just bought a US996 instead. I don't know what update the US996 will be on, so if I do end up with US99610n, your post will be very helpful.

Hi.
I've just received a brand new Nubia Z17S and have found a problem when trying to flash Magisk.
I've been able to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP. Then, after formatting data and rebooting again, I've flashed Magisk 16.0, since I had the zip file on a flash drive. My idea was to update to the latest Magisk release later from Magisk Manager.
Magisk 16.0 appears to flash correctly, and the superuser feature works fine, but Magisk log shows a mount error and Magisk isn't activated. So I have a rooted phone, but I can't pass SafetyNet check. If I try to flash the universal Safetynet module, Magisk throws an error and from TWRP it says Magisk sisn't installed, which is right (it's installed but unable to activate).
To check if a newer version solves the issue, I've tried to upgrade to Magisk 17.1 from Magisk Manager. It seems to install fine, but then the phone only boots into fastboot mode, over and over again, and never gets to start Android. I've had to flash a stock rom from the emergency recovery mode, flash TWRP and Magisk 16.0 again. Now I have a rooted phone but Magisk stays unusable.
Has anyone here been able to make Magisk 17.1 work on Z17S? Or should I stick to 16.0 until a fixed version is released?
Thanks.
Hi, I forgot to mention I was finally able to flash Magisk 17.3.
In order to do so, I had to wipe everything and revert to the latest stock rom, v 1.11, and then I flashed TWRP again and flashed Magisk 17.3 from there. The first time the phone booted, it got stuck on the "Be yourself" message. But then, after wiping data, the phone finally booted, and Magisk is working fine. The phone is rooted and I pass the SafetyNet check.

After I updated to 10.0.1 from 10.0.0 via TWRP the phone would not detect my sim card
EDIT: Fixed it by reflashing the update

I installed lineage OS 16.0 and all seemed ok but then when I put in my SIM card it recognises the name but there is no signal, no network. I then tried crdroid custom ROM. Same thing.
I thought maybe because I was on Oreo stock ROM prior to all this that I needed to update it to latest stock ROM so everything works ok. Tried to flash to stock ROM latest and won't let me do that either.
How do I get a SIM card to work?
