When set to automatic, night mode has been randomly not turning off after sunrise. In another case, it didn't turn on at sunset. In both cases, there was a buffer of several hours.
Same here, oos 9.0.6, night mode set to auto from sunset to sunrise, and it always turn on.
This just happened to me now for the first time. Nightmode set to go on automatically but it didn't activate for some reason.
I'm on stock TMO firmware and at times nigh mode turns off after sunset.

same for me, night mode behavior is erratic. I have to manually deactivate it quite often.
No probs here. I set it to specific times. Never had a problem with it, nor did i need to manually turn it on or off..
On 9.0.6
No problems here, using with automatic sunset and sunrise.

Now in the morning it didn't deactivate when it should have. I filed a bug report with oneplus.

So I set the WiFi sleep policy to "Never when plugged in".
I.e. screen off = wifi off (on battery), and screen off = wifi on (on charge/plugged in).
Just want to save battery, even though battery life is already pretty good, especially coming from my 'charge every night' HTC Desire!
Problem is, it decides to change itself to "Never", even if I am not using the tablet. (checked by going back into the setting and finding the "Never" radio checked.) Can anyone else verify if they have the same issue?
Mine sticks.

same here, no problem setting up a different policy
Thanks for the reply.
For me it seems to change by itself after quite a while. (like overnight)
So, have you always had yours on a policy other than 'Never'?
So I've decided to set mine to the same setting and my setting sticks. However when mine does go to sleep on battery and I wake it up, sometimes it never reconnects to the wifi or rescans. So I am forced to turn off wifi manually and backon for it to reconnect.
Anyone else ever have that issue?

I occasionally experience the same issue... I also have a thunderbolt which never had the problem and neither did my XOOM...

you need to set your wifi setting to Static IP instead of DHCP. This will resolve your issue. I had the same issue and now its fixed.

Seems to be a common problem for any device with a Broadcom 4330.
Broadcom's policy towards open source has always sucked, and crap like this is the result.
I leave the WIFI open all the time...
I have the same issue. Wifi sleep policy changes by itself to "Never", draining the battery in just a couple of hours.

Turning off WiFi in sleep mode doesn't work
My 10.1 will not turn off WiFi when the tablet goes to sleep, per my selection to turn WiFi off wen the screen turns off. WiFi remains on when the tablet is in sleep mode--I can ping it successfully from another computer in my home network anytime. I want to disconnect whenever the screen turns off for a couple of reasons: 1) to cut down on WiFi traffic overall (I have a limited monthly data allowance) and 2) to keep some of the snoop sites from gathering information from my tablet.
3.2, rooted, kernel 2.6.36.4-cyanogenmod+ [email protected] #1 (overclocked)
Any suggestions?
Put it in airplane mode when you aren't using it. I have a button on the home screen to turn on airplane mode. Disables all radios, and really saves battery.
Airplane mode did it. The app I installed is Auto Airplane Mode. It simply puts it in airplane mode when I press the on/off button to turn the screen off (sleep) and takes it right out, usually by the time I swipe the screen, when I turn it on again. Works every time, no problems. This is much better than trying to debug the original problem, which sounds like it must be common to a lot of phones and tablets.
Thanks, Dave

Nice, I didn't know there was an app for that. Will save me a press when I sleep the tab!
i have read an old thread with a similar, not solved, problem, but i didn't wanted to write in a so old thread...
so...
when the wifi radio is on, my iconia a500 suddendly turns on the screen and it stays on also for various minutes, sometimes i guess also until the battery is completely finished (i have found more than once the tablet off because of battery drained in the morning, so i guess it was with screen on all night long)
this happens also if i set wifi to go off when display is off.
i have tried many different roms (taboonay, lightspeed ... and now i have thor rom 14.2, installed yesterday) but the problem is always here.
if i manually turn off wifi, this seems to never happen... or at least it never happened while i was watching the tablet during the last months
does anybody knows a solution, a hint... or anything that could be helpful to make this issue less annoying?
thanks!

You might have a program installed that is constantly calling for wifi access?
That's the only thing I can think of?
On my Rom, I haven't ever experienced that problem.
My settings are as follows:
Airplane mode on
Wifi On
Wifi disconnect policy: when screen turns off.
also when i just turn it on it happens, even with no services or program needing wifi...
but you gave a me a good idea to try...
i will put airplane mode on and check what happens now
and anyway, i'll check again my programs

If airplane mode is turned on doesn't that over ride the wifi on setting?
So if airplane mode is on wifi will always be off so the disconnect setting has no bearing.
Can someone please confirm above or explain..
thanks
no, you can put airplane mode and then turn on wifi
and seems like it is working well... but i don't want to talk too early...
Airplane mode is for tablet/phones with data connections. Airplane mode just turns that off

Yes, but for some strange reason it helps with the wake up problem some have
That's what I was getting at - when airplane mode is turned on it overrides all other settings and wifi can not be engaged in any way until it (airplane mode)is turned off.
Yup I was just answering Spud
Airplane mode only refers to the 3g/4g cell radio (so it turns off wireless network data/phone calls/texts etc.). You can still turn on wifi and use it when airplane mode is on because this is a different radio (well in the a500 there is no 3g radio). After all many airplanes now have wifi on board, however you're still supposed to have it airplane mode.
Thanks.
I haven't been able to turn in wifi with airplane mode on - it takes a longer push (hold) on the wifi button to engage.
I now have wifi on with airplane mode on - didn't realize airplane didn't also disable wifi.

Incorrect! You turn Airplane Mode on, which turns off wifi, then turn on wifi with Airplane Mode still turned on (and airplane mode stays on with wifi turned on as well).
after some days trying i have noticed that putting in airplane mode solves the problem...
but not always the tablet turns off wifi and stay in airplane mode when i turn off the display, it is surely some annoying app (or widget) that makes this happen.
i'm trying to understand which one

The only way to do that is process of elimination. Knocking out the variables one by one until you find the culprit, which has the potential to be a long, painstaking process. Start by uninstalling, one by one your apps that require internet access, and wait a couple days In between each one to see how your tab reacts. Then again, it may be an app that you wouldn't think needs wifi access to work, but in the background is calling for access.
Good luck with it!

Well there you have it.
All stock based ROMs allow it to be done.
Seems many having various wifi issues and also seems not a lot of fixes. So here goes.
Running EOS JB, and Morfic kernal. I want the wifi to shut down when ever I close my case / or when the screen goes blank (i.e. sleep). I'm sure there a various levels of sleep, but read on:
Setting in advanced to shut wifi down when sleeping, it does. BUT, it wakes up every few minutes. This has to kill the battery. I've turned off every updating I can find but that does not help. When it is asleep, it should stay asleep!
I installed Llama - I use this on my Maxx with perfection. I set the advanced settings wifi to stay on always - then set up Llama to turn it off when screen goes blank, and then back on again when screen comes on. Works perfectly! No through the night updates. BUT - when I'm USING the device, I'll lose wifi completely for no apparent reason!!! I look at Llama event log, no entries there. It is just shutting off. I have to cycle the toggle off then on again for it to restart.
So I removed Llama - it's back to "working" but still updating constantly.
Any one have any ideas on how to control this beast?
Can llama put your tab in airplane mode instead of switching WiFi off? Might be worth a try if so. I use tasker to do a very similar thing...puts tab in airplane mode 2 mins after screen off and cancels it on screen unlock.

that is another option I hadn't thought of. I've gone into advanced settings and told the wifi to stay on ALWAYS - and I'm using Llama/screen to see if works. So far so good. The problem I'm trying to solve now it seems, is keeping it on when awake. I like the airplane option an an alternative. I'll update as I go along here.
Thank you!
It turns off sRBG every time it completely reboots, and now I have noticed it doing it after just being left idle overnight (just one time, last night). Is this a known bug?

It won't survive a reboot, but I haven't seen it just turn itself off from a lengthy idle. Perhaps your phone had a random reboot?
Is not surviving a reboot intended?

No it's a bug affecting some users. My first 6P did this. My subsequent doesn't.

I've seen various theories about it being related to having secure startup set, but this is the first I've heard about a bug. Just did a search and came up with nothing. Do you have a link? I'd like to read more on this. Thanks.
Mine reverts back to 'normal' mode when I enter developer options. I have to toggle the switch back to sRGB mode on before exiting out of developer options. Other than that it remains in sRGB mode whatever I do.
Hello everyone, English is not my mother tongue so i hope you understand what i say. So, 4 days ago i bought the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 and so far so good with it but in the past 2 days the watch does not automatically turn on night mode and in the first 2 days of using it, the watch was enabling the night mode by itself but for the past 2 days that hasn't been the case anymore. I of course have enabled night mode in the Mi Fit app and still nothing, i changed the setting from automatically turning on after sunset and even put schedules on when to turn on but still nothing is working so far.
Is there a setting that's somehow interfering with night mode? Do i need GPS enabled on my phone for the sunset thingy to work? If so then the scheduled setting should've worked without GPS so what's the issue here?
Any help would be appreciated!
