I got my device a few days ago and I expected about 7-8hrs of screen on time.
I used to get only 5-6 hrs of screen on time then I installed Naptime and Greenify(rootless) to extend battery life.
Now I am getting about 7-8 hrs which is still less for a phone with sd636 and 5000mah battery.
I noticed that wynk music was more battery than it should and it is always running. (After greenifying it its battery consumption had decreased a lot)
I am on the latest firmware(337 maybe) and I own a 6gb ram variant.

Please don't use greenify agressive doze mode or naptime(naptime i m bot tested)
When you off agressive doze you will get good battery backup.
I personally getting same battery issue, but when i off gereenify agressive doze mode i get good battery backup as well as ideal draining issue solve.

Let me try Doze mode again with off auto Hibernation mode.

I'm having somewhat higher than expected idle drain. After 7 hours of sleep, my battery has drained down to 93% from a full charge. The last Android I owned was the HTC One M7, and then had the iPhone 6 and the 6S the past 1.5 years and neither of the phones experienced this high of idle drain. Always on display and night clock are disabled.
I enabled aggressive doze mode within Greenify (I did not hibernate any apps) and also turned on notifications for when and how long doze was activated for. Even after 7 hours of laying flat on the table next to my bed, nothing. In my week of owning this phone, I've only ever seen the doze notification from Greenify ONCE, and it only dozed for ~3 minutes within the hour of laying still.
Screenshot of battery usage overnight (plus some use during breakfast) and also the Greenify settings. Surprise, high Android System use.

Does anyone else feel that the doze feature of Android 6.0 is not working as intended on the S7?

Have you tried without Greenify? On my 6P I found that having Greenify active actually drained more battery than having it inactive... Not sure why though.

I'll disable greenify tonight and test it out. FYI, I'm not hibernating any apps. I just installed greenify to enable aggressive Doze mode
Aggressive doze is an experimental feature, it may just not detect doze correctly, because of changes made by Samsung and just eat more juice by checking and trying to trigger doze. But that's just a wild guess.

Doesn't it need root for aggressive doze? I've also had problems on my 6P with Greenify and other doze-modification apps actually causing more harm than good, causing doze not to initialize.

No, Aggressive doze in Greenify doesnt need root.
I tested last night by disabling Tmobile apps, FB Messenger, and Pushbullet and aggressive doze worked!
This morning I reenabled FB Messenger and Pushbullet and left the Tmobile apps disabled - Doze still activated. I reenabled tmobile - doze did not activate.
TLDR: I believe Tmobile app is causing crazy wakelocks and doze will not activate.
If you want to test this, install Greenify, enable aggressive doze mode and notifications. Start off by keeping tmobile app enabled. Let your phone sit on a desk for 10 minutes, see theres any Doze notification.

Mine will doze with the T-Mobile app active, but I also have pr.adapt active, I read that if you disable it, and have the T-Mobile app active, you may have issues.
I will try disabling both. but I got 22 dose cycles today totaling 5hr 31min, with both active today.

How do you know you got 22 cycles with Samsungs crappy battery visualizations?
Greenify messes up the doze function big time.

Dont use Sammys battery visualization. I use GSAM, under the wake locks you can see the Doze sessions and under the graphs it shows as well.

GSAM looks good. Thanks.
Greenify definitely forces the phone into the doze mode and it works. From my testing, it definitely activates doze mode more often than not. Aside from installing Greenify, i haven't played with any of the settings aside from turning Aggressive doze mode on. One thing i have noticed is that if you use AOD or Night Mode, the phone won't go into doze mode, with or without Greenify. I have verified with GSam. Hopefully its a bug cause otherwise those 2 functions are useless unless you have the phone plugged in. Hope this post helps.

If my samsung devices isn't root, will i see the doze sessions in GSAM ?
What steps do you guys take to optimize battery life without compromising any performance?
I'm on NMF26O, Franco R6, TWRP, root
Greenify
Wifi & Bluetooth off when not in use
Brightness low
Do you leave adaptive brightness, screen saver or ambient display on?
Install Greenify as a system App (System/Priv-App) and it will work as Root + Privilaged Mode ( make sure to change the permissions to -777)
Doze in my opinion isn't nearly as optimized to my liking so I go ahead and install Doze Settings Editor and change some of the parameters.
I have doze start as soon as I hit the power button and disable motion so nothing wakes it up. I have it wake up every 30 min and then go back to sleep.
Just waiting on Xposed so I can use other mods to further reduce drain. I remember at some point I would get a 1% battery drain on my old HTC M7.

I just downloaded Naptime to take advantage of doze
I don't need to. This phone has gotten me through a full day, every day so far. I don't do any crazy heavy gaming, but constant 5+ hours of SON, and still about 5-10% left when I go to bed at night.
Yep, same here. 5 hours is the average SoT it seems, that is with half an hour or more gaming. Franco kernel I have heard takes care of the unnecessary battery usage. I never used battery savings modules like Greenify and sorts, and no way I am gonna install them on this phone.
Running pure nexus 7.1.2 with ex kernel and glasscannon profile. I have naptime greenify amplify installed.im getting 11% battery drain over night. I don thave facebook or messenger installed just whatsapp and viber. I do have a magisk module that charges my batt till 80% or any set value (magic charging switch). I leave wifi on at night. I dont use mobile data. I only use bluetooth as needed. Can someone help me diagnose where my huge batt drain is coming from a d eliminate it?

What is the battery drain when you were on a stock ROM? First test your battery with Accubattery, then use a battery drain app like BBS or GSam.

Uhm.. well sir ive never ran this stock out of the box. Once i got it, i rooted immediantly. It has been sitting for almost 2 years since purchase until i had the screen replaced. Since posting this, i have reflashed my rom of choice and kernel clean. Going on day 1 right now with very light usage. (Attachment)
Running pure nexus 7.1.2 latest elemental kernel with glasscannon profile stock values installed via aroma. Only change readhead value to 1024. Gpu at performance profile incase i wanna game on the fly. Which happens only when im bored. I never tried accubattery but magic charging switch does have a command for checking the status of the batt ( see attachment) will get up on BBS to and will post results after a full charge.
Edit:might i add yes the wifi on whole time, yes i did use this to work light browsing and messaging during break. Yes i did listen to music via headphones and via bluetooth car audio. Phone was charged the night before around 11pm- woke up to 98% which was better than what i initially started with. "AAAANNND i did tasker sync to turn on only 15 mins for the whole day before i sleep. Sync being off from midnight till 1145pm, repeat.

Can you show some BBS stat's for wakelocks after you charge to 100% and don't use it at all and leave it over night and send the stat's soon as you wake the device.

Didnt my last post contain screenshots of partial and kernel wakelocks? Sorry if it was insufficient.
This is now showing up. (see attachment)
Qpnp-smbcharger-17 seems to be drainig 1.2% per hour. How can i mitigate this?

I just need to see the stats without the phone being used, that's why charge to 100% the let it go into standby (unplugged) when you sleep and then when you wake up. Take a picture of the stat's and The kernel wakelocks can be fixed with custom kernel only.

Ok. Will do.
Using multiple battery savings apps like Greenify and Naptime doesn't really make a lot of sense and can actually cause battery drain. I use Naptime, Better Battery Stats and a Magisk module that allows Google Play Services to Doze with the rest of the phone. I leave WiFi and Location High Accuracy on all the time and I get 2% battery drain overnight. I also use a battery charging alarm to keep my phone charged between 40%-80% rather than a Tasker profile but I'm not sure if either method is more efficient in terms of battery drain.
battery drain is far worse !!!
30% drains in 7-8 hrs
tried every rom/settings
temporary solution : if i turn on aeroplane mode before sleeping its draining 1%
ps : Already tried Greenify & Naptime buddy
any solution
Use viper os Oreo. No such battery drain.
In Superior OS overnight drain is 1-2% for me(aeroplane mode is off)
I still have your same problem, the only solution i found is turning off data connection and it drains like 15% overnight. Greenify didn't helped me and my deep sleep isn't working
Battary Drain fix

I have also faced High battery drain issue but i fixed it by using Kernelauditor app
My current Rom is Nitrogen-OS released on November built 2018
In my case the CPU Scaling governor was in Performance mode. I changed it to interactive which fixed the issue now i am getting more than a day in a single charge.
i used CPU-Z to check my CPU scaling governor which showed performance mode.
then i used kernelauditor under CPU we can change to interactive.
Try Yuka kernel , Deep sleep works good on it
Why you dont turn off phone while sleep?
Try updating your MIUI firmware. May this helps you.
Its hardware problem!!
Hi everyone!
In my case, AOD drains 3.2-3.6% battery per hour, and I was curious if the consumption can be lower.
How much battery does AOD drain for others, especially on stock OOS?
I'm currently using Evolution X. For the sake of experiment, I keep my system clean (pretty much no apps besides the pre-installed ones) and measure consumption overnight - just keep my phone still for 9 hours. With AOD off, the battery consumption is only 0.2% per hour. I tried turning on Airplane Mode and Idle Manager, and flashing different kernels, but the battery drain stays same.
That seems very high. Any cloud or other apps running in the background?

Nope, and the phone actually stays in deep sleep for most of time. The battery drain is related to Always-On Display.

I don't know what's normal for that phone.
The stats you're showing if on my N10+'s indicate what I said. Typically always on AOD uses >1%@hr on my devices and even better with tap on.
Maybe the firmware it's self... or maybe it got corrupted. SEUs are rare but do happen. Clear caches and/or data if possible.
If you have a tap on AOD option, try that.
