I use substratem to theme to black, or you can use any number of other Gmail compatible apps that do black mode.

There are a number of email apps that will sync with gmail. I am sure that a black mode will be coming to gmail. Google has already updated several of their apps recently to include a dark mode.

I'm tired of my grey Android! So, How can I add my own picture or sync it w/ facebook?

i would like to know as well. The stock rom did it, but i think that was because of Facebook for sense. I don't even have the android, i just have a grey square in messages.
any solution? I've set my phone number in settings, added myself as a contact that matches my facebook, synced facebook, etc etc. I got a grey android for 2 days then back to a grey square. really irritating.

You need to put your picture in your contact on your device.
The reason it's not syncing your facebook photo is you don't have yourself as a friend on facebook. I don't think if you can do that either.
Also, you may have to reset your number if/whenever you reboot. Sometimes just going into call setting/additional settings/my phone number will cause it to re-recognize the number.
As the name suggests, ive configured my gmail account to work with the stock samsung email app...I get a sound notif but ive seen it disappear without me checking it...
Any solutions...its like an alien is reading my mail

I noticed since I got my 6P lightflow doesn't override Google apps such as Google messenger and Gmail. Gmail turns yellow led and messenger just white. I'm wondering if it's just me, and if not, if there's any workaround.. Thanks
working fine here, can set any desired color for those specific apps (have then set as red and blue).
Any idea how I can get GMail to reliably sync and give me notifications on my OnePlus 5? Usually I could go into the Optimize Apps section under Settings - Battery, but GMail doesn't show up in this list.

Hi, as mention in my tittle, my settings keep reverting to default as if the changes don't get saved. For e.g. Assessibility, I have changed setting to enable apps with gestures to have access but after a few hrs. It request for the same permission. The same occurs with Google play games and I can't access it in battery saver mode? Is this a bug or something? Currently using JOYUI, most updated version.

Google Calendar not syncing {option does not even appear}
When I look into permission manager or battery management, I always allow "googleCalendarSync" and all other google services to be check. Especially for autostart features. However, I just can't seem to get the calendars to sync. When I look it over under accounts> google> calendar does not appear at all. I have contacts, play services etc but not for calendar? Does anyone know what is wrong with it ? or has a fix assuming its googleCalendarSync issue?

its not on demo mode, I own a xiao mi mi 6 so I am familar with the battery management features and auto-start permission to allow notifications from telegram, email and whatsapp. All works except calendar where under SYNC, google, calendar does not appear at all. I also can't add other calendars under the default calendar app. Any updates fixing this?
You can fix the calendar sync issue by first uninstalling rhe google calendar sync in apps list, then install google calendar from play store.
Once that is done, the other calendar accounts will appear in your calendars app
