Snapchat won't open after rooting. - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted and installed an Android 9 ROM and ever since then, I can't sign into Snapchat. I get an error message saying, "Oh no! Your login temporarily failed, so please try again later." I've waited two days at this point, by the way. The message tells me to go to Snapchat's support website, so I do. On the website, it reads, "One common cause [of login error] is if you've rooted your Android device. Un-rooting your Android device, removing other third-party apps and plug-ins, and reinstalling Snapchat are all ways to try and resolve this issue." I have tried reinstalling Snapchat, which didn't work. I have also tried resetting my password, and have even gone so far as to create a new account to test my regular account status. I really do not want to un-root my phone, so does anybody have any solution(s) to log into my account?
EDIT: I figured it out. For anyone who is wondering, I unrooted my phone, logged into Snapchat, and rerooted. Thanks to anyone who gave suggestions!

It doesn't work on uncertified/tampered/rooted devices.

Use Magisk to root and then "hide" Snapchat from root.

Lost Google Play Services access don't know what to do at this point.

Hello, lovelies of XDA. I'm looking from some advice from those who better understand what they're doing, as I (like a true novice) have reached what seems to be a "point of no return" with my phone.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S4 that I have rooted and updated to Lollipop using the methods described in these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/guide-odin-to-stock-updating-rooting-t2926642
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...to-root-i337ucufnj4-4-4-4-11-13-2014-t2939553
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-to-update-to-i337oc3-5-0-1-keeproot-t3075814
I went from Lollipop 5.0.1, to KitKat 4.4.4, got root access, then updated to Lollipop again via the KeepRoot thread. This took me forever, but everything seemingly worked fine. Until I messed it all up. I used TitaniumBackup to remove apps that were on the safelists on this forum after creating backups. However, I started receiving an "Unfortunately, Google Play Services have stopped." error message every time I tried to add a new Google account in my phone's settings. In my efforts to attempt to fix this, I managed to delete the Google account that was working on the phone, and now I have no access to Google Play at all. Whenever I try to launch anything involving Play or Google accounts, I get the "...Play Services has stopped." error. I was hoping to maybe start fresh, but I don't even know where to begin. I was thinking I could reflash using the method in the "Update to I337_OC3 - 5.0.1 and KeepRoot" thread, but I have no way to get the FlashFire app on my phone as it can no longer access the Play store. When I try to install it wirelessly from my computer, it thinks that the app is already Installed, even though there's no Google account (or Play access) on my phone. What is my next logical step to try to get things working again?
Thanks in advance for your attention and efforts.
I'm sure there's an apk of flashfire app somewhere on the internet.
Do you have a custom recovery? If so you could try flashing a gapps package and see if it works.

Snapchat no longer letting me sign in

I have a G935A. Snapchat was working fine, then i rooted and it was still working fine. When i installed xposed it stopped working. I read its a common problem with snapchat, so i uninstalled xposed and it still didnt work. I tried restoring the phone 3 times and nothing has worked. All it says is my login failed. I can sign into the account on an iPhone and i can make a new account on my S7, but i cant sign into my regular account. Any suggestions?
Did you remove xposed app or uninstall xposed ? You must flash xposed uninstaller via TWRP.
Happened to me once on a different phone after xposed was installed.
Two methods are:
1. Flash Xposed uninstalled with TWRP - login to snapchat, installed xposed frameworks again.
2. Have another rooted device (no xposed) - sign into snapchat, use Titanium backup to backup snapchat, Make sure u CLEAR the data for snapchat on that phone or delete the app, don't log out!, Use titanium backup on your root S7 Edge phone (with or withour xposed) and restore that file.
You should be automatically logged in.

Yes uninstalling the app directly from your phone just stops u from controlling xposed u have to Uninstall the framework with flashfire or TWRP.. If you have already tried that I had this same problem the other day.. I actually heard that snapchat is now checking for actual just root as well.. I Uninstalled root completely logged in then re rooted and re installed xposed. Sounds like a lot but it's worth it. Only takes 10 minutes.
if you have a backup like titanium backup of the snapchat app AFTER you've logged into it, i think you should be able to restore it without having to uninstall xposed..

I've tried flashing the uninstall package multiple times, the Xposed app says no framework is installed. I've also reflashed the stock firmware multiple times trying to fix this issue and NOTHING is working. I tried backing up snapchat on another rooted phone and restoring it on the s7 and that didn't work either. This is extremely frustrating

Did you clean up and fully unroot your phone? Root is now being checked for
FIX
ONLY FOR THOSE WITH SUPERSU ROOT
Facedthe same problem today mate this is how i did it and just takes you couple of minutes
just temporaily unroot your phone with your SuperSU app if it still does'nt work. if you uninstalled xposed.
you will see that you are gonna be able to snapchat right the moment you are unrooted.
login
grab yourself a flashable zip of supersu to re-root your phone and flash it with TWRP
you should be logged in and have you root
make sure to get titanium backup right away if you didnt have it already and BACKUP your snapchat app + data.
saves you from doing this all over again if you ever should be logged out of snapchat.
for the new roms with magisk v7
i cant figure out how to do since since we cant en/disable our root anymore (correct me if am wrong cause i dont know how to do it with the new magisk manager )
automagisk wont do the trick so i dont know
hit thanks if this helped you.

log in with your unrooted phone

get yourself a backup of the app with titanium backup
please let me know if this worked for you
Hello,
I've got a question about snapchat.
I'm sorry if im posting this in the wrong place, im new here!
I want to use snapchat 9.3.1.0 so i can use snapprefs.
I'm rooted and have xposed framework installed.
I am currently logged in in the newest snapchat version.
I made a backup of my snapchat with TB, deleted the new version of snapchat, installed snapchat 9.3.1.0, opened titanium backup and restored 'DATA ONLY'.
When i open snapchat, the app says: There are no snaps, and it says i've got no friends (which makes me sad). Any idea how i can fix this?
Thank you!
Lorenzo

Hi mate,
I wanna do what you did, as in full unroot then login then re-root. I just wanted to ask do I need to have any custom recovery software installed before doing this? I rooted my phone with ODIN. I DONT have XPOSED installed contrary to what EVERYONE in this forum keeps saying that i only have to uninsall xposed lol.
I have a rooted s5 too so could I potentially login on snapchat on that then create a titanium backup of the app+data then transfer across to me s7edge? That is how I initially remained logged in on snapchat when switching from the s5 to the s7 edge.
Please help! everyone else is just being vague!!

You could just fully unroot within the supersu app re login and then use Odin to re root. .. Or use your s5 to log in and back it up and transfer to your s7.. But you'd have to unroot your s5 if you did it thst way.

Thanks mate. I did it the s5 way and created a back up to restore on s7 edge device. Could have just done it the s7 unroot reroot. Would have been easier lol. Thank you.

Ah yes... I don't have xposed installed? I want to install but I'm still unsure in the process to install it. Do you have a link to installing it on the s5? I'll trial with that before i try to on the s7 edge.

I'm not sure it's been a while since I had a s5 lol but I did a Google search xposed on s5 and it was the first link.. I'd paste the link but the xda app won't let me for some reason.

I've used casper and its cool because u can view story's without them noticing.. But I didn't like how it looked it needs appearance updates.. BTW don't try to login to casper after you've already logged into snapp chat.. It'll log u back out

I love casper for that function exactly, you can watch peoples stories (stalk) without them knowing. The root session used to keep me logged in on both but I think SC have found a way to detect root use of a third part app which is a shame. Not sure if anyone knows how to mask casper from SC at all on here?

I never thought about that. But yes casper was nice for that. And if I could mask it I would again use it.

How to use Snapchat with root nougat?

I'm in a custom rom 7.0 and with root, whenever I try to get into the snapchat it's error, I would like to know how to use it with root and without xposed, as it does not yet exist for android N
@lukasth
Your situation is strange because i use LineageOS 14.1 (Unnoficial, with OMS) with native root and dont have problems to use snapchat, try a clean install and see if this happen again

You need to disable root access before signing in.
After you sign in, you can enable.
I can't login too.
Snapchat blocks devices that are rooted. The workaround to this is:
Be unrooted
Install snapchat
Sign in to Snapchat
THEN root your device.
The app should open fine as long as you've logged in prior to rooting.

Root breaks Snapchat login but once you're logged in, you can root and it will continue working. Unfortunately though, since you're already rooted, you can try to use something like RootCloak (no idea if that works with Snapchat) to hide the fact you're rooted or else unroot, login and then re-root.
@treela is correct.
I am on Nougat (NPJ25.93-14).
What I did - Rooted my phone using Magisk and enabled Magisk Hide.
Snapchat logs in even after rooting.

I'm confused what version of Xposed should I install? Arm, Arm64, or x86? I need Xposed before I get root cloak.
phh's superuser works fine with SnapChat. SuperSU does not in my experience.
Although, the foolproof way is to, on another device, install Snapchat, log in, THEN root, and install Titanium Backup and make a backup. After that, copy the files from your /storage/emulated/0/TitaniumBackup or whatever other directory (there should be a couple gzip files), and transfer those to an SDcard. On your new device, pop in the SD (or usb-otg), install Titanium Backup, transfer the files and then restore DATA ONLY. Just make a backup once and you shouldn't have to do it ever again.

Snapchat on rooted LG V20

I am trying to login to Snapchat but it keeps saying there's an error with the login and I found out it is because I am rooted. A fix I found involves full unroot and I don't want to do that. Can anyone help me?
Snapchat
Ive used snapchat rooted. On mutiple roms.
Snapchat for some devices (like the v20 now) is checking for root. It's hit or miss really. On my VS995 Snapchat wouldn't work till I did suhide. So you'll have to most likely use Magisk or SU-Hide or some kind of root hiding thing to get past it.
Just install Snapchat on a other device, log in, make a backup with Titanium Backup and load it on your main device.
This worked for my rooted S5 KLTE

Personally i feel option 2 is easiest but not all kernels like it.
I wish these things could be put in to roms so when we flash them, there's no alternate flashing needed that could cause issues.. I had nothing but issues tryna get both of those options to work, but again it was probably kernel related so I just gave up on it..

Actually, the Stock deOdexed US996 ROM has them built into it, also allows for hotspot provisioning without having to edit anything. I've been running it for a few months now, and been flawless on every aspect, other than it disables the ability to use MyVerizon apps, and Verizon's visual voicemail.
