I decided to try to see just how far I could push this micro-sd port that is claimed to be "for power only". Turns out, pretty far. And without even using all that specific gear - just some random junk I wasn't using for anything else.

I already had the following:
A Unitek USB 3.0 Hub + Gbit ethernet (not powered)
A media remote with full qwerty keyboard, and it's dongle
A 64GB microSD card with a USB adapter
I recently bought a microSD OTG connector with a power-passthrough.
Everything is working, even without any additional power connection (the USB hub doesn't take one). I haven't tested the actual speed, but I'm just happy to have ethernet just free up more Wifi B/W for others. It was insanely plug and play - I went into Settings > Network and it was like "you're already plugged in Jack. Disconnect if you want to go back ti Wifi"

Hi,
i was thinking how i can fix a cabel for USB host for the HD2
i came to this idea: a USB Female To Female adapter,
what will happen if you connect your data cable to 1 side, and a USB Stick in the other side? will it work?
here's a pic:

Doesn't work mate. The HD2 does not work as a USB host.

then i thing you should see this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=638201
and see your Register on your HD2..
OR google it,
Hey Mitchell,
Unfortunately this would not work directly since the HD2 does not power the external devices currently, you would need to create a modified wire that connects the power lines from the external usb device to some other power source (maybe a pc usb socket)
but this connector could be useful in allowing you to create this wire without having to hack up a hd2 usb cable itself.

As above .
There is also the problem I didn't mention that Cotulla never released the driver for this and since Cotulla has not been around for a while now it seems that this project is suspended indefinitely.
Will we be unable to do HDMI out and use a controller since they use the same ports?

HDMI out is MHL; controllers are USB OTG. I believe it's a hardware limitation that the two can't be used together, unfortunately. But nothing stopping you from using a wireless one (if there's one that works).

Yes that's what I meant with this only apply to GSII. I guess only a bluetooth controller would work though.
I think that the MHL-adapter will have an micro-USB port on it. It looks like it will on these pictures as well:

But I don't really have any reliable source to that.
The Micro USB port on the side of the adapter lets you charge your phone while in use.
Hello people!
I own a Samsung Galaxy S2 (I9100) and I've been fantasizing with a very particular MOD.
I've seen this Blutooth Sliding Keyboard cases:

}
But I would like to get it working thorugh OTG, and take advantage of the extra height o add a USB port for USB DRIVES using an integrated USB hub.
This way I wouldnt need to carry around an OTG cable, and wouldnt have the constant drain beause of the BT pairing.
My main roadblock at this time is wether I could get the keyboard working through USB (bypass the bluetooth interface) so it could get recognized by the phone.
Once I can sort this out, the rest of the mod should be quite straightforward.
I dont own the keyboard case yet, so If anyone has some previous modding experience could shed some light on the bluetooth matter, it would be of tremendous help!
Thanks a lot in advance.
I don't have the first idea how to do this but I am very interested!
I like a physical keyboard and I've had to import from the US or stick with very outdated phones....
Hi everyone.
For some odd reason... I couldn't get JDS Labs C5D ( portable amp/dac ) to work with my Nexus 6P... :T ( The owner sent me USB C to Mini USB OTG cable )
My phone does not recognize the usb/amp. I also tried playing my music through USB audio player pro app as suggested here but it didn't work. In dev opt, I set usb config to MTP... am I doing something wrong?

Kernel: ElementalX
Help please. T_T
Edit: This is the USB C to Mini USB OTG cable that was provided.
I don't know if you got it working by now. But have you tried swiping down from the status bar, then selecting USB for file transfer?
My schiit stack work on stock marshmallow on 6P using USB C to A otg.
Recently purchased both Tread+ and Peloton bike, and I was able to install APKs via adb on the bike. However, the bike will only run one app at a time. So I can watch netflix, but can't run the overlay of the peloton app. I even was able to install the custom navigation, but no luck on the split screen.
The bigger issue is not being able to sideload apks onto the tread+. The tread+ doesn't have a micro usb, but rather usb to usb. I have usb data cable but nothing happens when I try to connect my pc. Developer mode is enabled. I attempted to connect via wifi using adb commands as well. I am not very skilled at any of this, but I am willing to try. Ideas would be appreciated. I need to watch netflix when I run
Thanks!
I think the microusb port of the Tread+ may be on the back, where the display connects to the treadmill.

Confirmed - you can just pop the plastic top off the screen connector, and then pull the back off. There is a micro usb port back there.
