Let's use this thread to keep a track of any news on EMUI 9 for HONOR 8 PRO
So far just beta testing ongoing for the Chinese V9 variant.
https://www.theandroidsoul.com/huawei-honor-v9-update/
Looks like Beta testing is starting for European variant
Thanks for the updates. Hopefully it will hit the Asian markets as well. It's a flagship phone ffs
My guess is we'll be given the Pie update somewhere in Q2 2019.
Yep. You don't go through beta testing for nothing. I now firmly believe its coming. Only if my patience gets the better of me. ?
I guess this is as official as it gets
Honor 8 Pro might be getting EMUI 9

It seems that the beta doesn't allow third party launchers, just like the Chinese EMUI.
I managed to uninstall stock emui launcher .. and install Nova launcher as default .. disabled the stock navigation bar and enabled fluid Navigation bar .. Now it works flawlessly the only drawback is you don't get Android pie Transition in task manager it is like Android 8. But it is fine for me since I love this one.
But no news for the DUK-L09?
Hopefully Pie will arrive soon, although the security patch is on December, and that is more important then getting Pie.

Does fluid navigation Gestures drains lot of battery life?. Just check battery backup with and without it please and let me know.
Officially, the final version is likely to be out in April '19.
So I guess we can add another two months to that timeline.

Some users have leaked Mate 7 Android 6.0 Marshmallow screenshots on Huawei official Chinese forum .
It seems like they had connected their Mate 7 to HiSuite and received the B506 update there.
But apparently, Huawei is only planning to start Mate 7 user testings of Android 6.0 on 22nd November with limited users on its official Chinese forum.
So it is unclear whether there has been a fault of releasing the B506 version early.
As a new user, I am not able to post pictures here. Screenshots can be found on the Huawei official Chinese forum within the Mate 7 thread. :fingers-crossed:
Testing has begun...and year later we'll be on b589 and counting....
I`am counting on the first quarter of 2016 :good:
I won't update to LP and just use KK untill MM is out and tested.
From official Huawei forum:
New SMS menu, new battery icon(u can change from few) , new multitasking , also you can change dpi from settings
Build is dated October 31 - Closed beta starts November 22
What about tl09 or it's for gold version only?

No. Use the search function, this has been discussed to death. The mods will lock this thread when they see it.
Looks like it could be, same in EN version: http://www.hihonor.com/uk/support/details/?DOC_ID=77509
Especially when you see: "Updated date:2016-03-29" but we need confirmation.
Edit: Yes, looks like it is official: https://twitter.com/HonorEU/status/715194619080941568

I dont see where this has been discussed to death when it was only uploaded yesterday by Honor. I do think that is likely the full final firmware, if not what is it?
From what I see there was one other threat where someone posted that link, which I found actually very helpful. What I didnt find helpful was for it to be closed. No idea why that one was closed because if this is in fact the final i reckon a lot of people were also waiting for that. I dont think it makes sense to burry something that important on page x of some B330 beta threat but whatever.
Edit: it is the final and Honor says you can use it if you are on B180 but you should not use it if you are on B320. In this case you should wait for the OTA. I also read on another forum that people who updated from B180 got an error during installation but everything is working fine.
And 330 beta users, we can update?
it is the final version, i'm using it now but it's a total crap
lots of features and settings missing plus apk installation manager GUI is back to stock android
in fact it's not worth the update and i recommend u stay at B170 or B180

Saw "bluetooth good" caught my eye.
What's the story on the hoops needed to install that rom?
I'm kind of a "stock" rom kind of person, but if it doesn't have the
"bloat" apps that usually come with the stock roms, then I might give
it a go.
I use to be a rom-a-holic back in my HTC phone/PDA days, but since the
dawn of smartphones, kind of got away from it.

Phone has to be on stock Nougat before flashing KangVIP577. Just flash the files in the order mentioned in the below link.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71225409&postcount=3768
This ROM is pre-rooted and Root is very stable.
It has few bloat apps but those can be removed easily using system app remover.
Once you do that you can enjoy the awesome performance. :good::good::good::good::good::good:

Well, I haven't received the nougat yet from Huawei. I "JUST" got the first update since I bought the phone in
early November a couple weeks ago from L29C185B180 to L29C185B321.
If Huawei is as "fast" as they were when I had the Mate2, they said then, the Lollipop 5 rom would be available
by the first half of 2015, and they were good on their word LOL. I got it June 30th, 2015, the LAST day of the
first half of 2015
Since Huawei said Nougat was suppose to be "made available" to Mate 8 by the first quarter of 2016, they've
got til the 31st of March. LOL

Just got Mi A1 today and it says an update is available. I thought it was the Oreo update they announced a few days earlier but it's not. They call it "Transition version for Android O".
Reading here and on Xiaomi forums I found out that both this update and Oreo have a lot of problems so now I don't know what to do? Install this update or wait for a stable 8.0 version?
I didn't have any problems with the update you mention.
I'm also not having any problems with Oreo.
You won't be getting the update to Oreo that everyone else updated to, it's been pulled so you would end up with this December update, then would have to wait for the next Oreo update.

yes oreo is not stable.
I don't understand why 1GB update is needed to go from Android 7.1.2 to 7.1.2 again with just this changelog:
1. D2Acontinuous annoying sharp Sound problem in A1
2. D2A is transferred to 112 when the local emergency number is called in the Czech Republic
3. Transition version for Android O

Same here. No issues at all apart from the well known Bluetooth battery statistics issue. I didn't do factory reset after the upgrade.
No issues with Oreo, works as good as Nougat did!
Only a minor cosmetic issue with battery stats.

Yes, you should absolutely install 7.12.19 as it is a security update. This is still Android Nougat (version 7).
The update is stable on my phone and actually improved some performance aspects (e.g. the time lag of the fingerprint reader is gone).
For Android Oreo (version 8) you should absolutely wait another month or two.
