VS995 weak or no signal in Europe - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hello. I have unlocked Verizon V20 VS995 and I am in Europe. In the urban areas phone works fine with all frequencies, also 4G B3 and B20 frequency, but when I go just outside town it looses network. Any sugestions?

CDMA LGV20 will suffer with those issues in Europe. So just switching to a native LTE/GSM device is the only way...

But I can't understand why the sognal is so weak when phone supports all the frequencies in my country. I even changed antennas (plastic bumpers) but still the same result.

Simple explanation - it is not a HW issue - the root cause is combination of your modem firmware and stock ROM you are using as the LTE/GSM band usage is set to be with lower priority and the modem constantly searches for the CDMA signal firstly...

So, is there anything to fix this? Maybe flash another rom or modem, if I find somehow to root stock Oreo.

If you are in VS995 really (and please check the sticker indication under your battery for that it should state VS995 only without Sat the end) you can roll back to Nougat via kdz flash and unlock the bootloader via DirtySanta, flash custom recovery and flash afterwards AOSP/LOS based roms.

I think I have VS995 because before ota upgrade to Oreo I have installed few KDZ's from the link without any problem. Can you tell me how can I check ARB version of Oreo?

All Verizon ROMS including Oreo are ARB00
Also you might try flashing Oreo Alpha Omega Hybrid ROM firstly and if not happy than try RR roms...

Tried Alpha Omega ans Lineage 15.1 and the situation is the same. Poor signal strenght.

Signal problems after MM update on Unlocked AT&T

Hi there, I would like to know if other people are having signal problems after the MM update. I am on Tmobile on a AT&T Unlocked Priv that WAS working perfect (signal strength wise) when it was on Lollipop. Since I upgraded by OTA to MM using a friends Simcard my signal is a mess. It cycle between LTE , 4G, 3G, EDGE all the way to GSM (G). And when I hit the road it stay in EDGE most of the time. That didn't happen in Lollipop and have never happened in my Nexus 6 and Nexus 6P. So is no TMO signal, is something that AT&T or Blackberry change on the modem firmware.
I tried to flash the old modem (lollipop) but it won't boot and told me the data was encrypted and corrupted and needed to wipe my phone. I flashed back the MM modem and booted. I flashed the TMo modem and I don't think it is sticked or maybe is it just the same one. Can you reply with your baseband numbers. Mine is MPSS.BO.2.6.2.c2-0007-M8994FAAAANAZM-1.55185.2
Any help will be very appreciated.

No LTE anymore with A2005

Hey guys, i've read a lot here and i think my problem is kind of mysterious.
I got an A2005 with stock Rom and LTE was working only on Band7. In germany i need Band20, which the A2005 originally doesn't support.
Then i flashed RR Rom and tried to unlock additional Bands as mentioned in several Threads.
Now i can't get any LTE Signal.
This is what i already did:
deleted the whole phone, flashed stock oxygen OS 3.6.0. No lte.
What can i do now?
I've just updated to 3.6.0 and i no longer get LTE on my signal meter. I get 4G all the time but I am on a network that supports superfast LTE so I have no idea if I'm actually getting those speeds still.
I did see a thread about band unlocking but I don't wanna risk killing my daily driver.

LTE not working on A2017G with Resurrection Remix - switched from Dutch carrier

Hi everyone,
After switching from the Dutch provider KPN to Vodafone I lost the ability to connect to LTE/4G networks. On KPN in both Stock and RR remix LTE was working perfectly without any problems.
What can be the problem? My first thought is that Vodafone is using different bands than KPN, witch are not supported by the Axon 7. But all the Vodafone bands should be supported.
Is there a frequency band or channel that is somehow blocked a custom rom? Also my device is listed as a A2017U instead of a A2017G, is this an issue? Looking on this forum it seems not really of an issue. I flashed the right Modem in TWRP before installing the ROM.
Is there anyone that knows how to fix this issue?
Hey Maxhuisman,
A few months ago i switched from stock 6.0.1 MM rom to RR Nougat and after that Darkrom and a few others. No matter which kind of bootloaders/bootstacks/modems i flashed, the 4G/LTE data service from Vodafone NL just did not work even even after making sure the right LTE bands were enabled in the free app Network Guru. After asking for advise in a few other treads i was told to go back to a stock or near stock rom.
I am currently on Sl1m's B08 Nougat rom where my 4G+ worked instantly after flashing. I am not going to try other roms for now until i'm 100% sure that vodafone LTE works on those roms.

Really? That's too bad to hear
Thanks for your reply, I guess I have to go back to stock or to Sl!m then. Very strange that it is not working with Vodafone.

flashing wrong carrier build?

Is it a big deal? I bought this phone second hand, I don't feel like figuring out where it came from. Does it matter which build a flash? Let's say I flash the PH1 Build Image NMI81C (Sprint & Telus), but I'm actually with freedom mobile, should I just download the PH1 Build Image NMJ32F (All other carriers)? It's running the Oreo 8.1 beta, I just want to revert back to the non beta nougat firmware

Boot into bootloader it will say either sprint or openus to find out, but either way just download the all other carriers.
The 8.1 beta is rock solid with great battery life better scrolling and better reception.
The choice is yours. you can put whatever you want on it but use the most current 7.1 if you want the improvements and latest patches.
I am struggling with UMTS band 4 on freedom mobile. I tried all the preferred Networks settings, can't seem to get a reliable signal. Was kind of hoping reverting might help.... Most stable setting is LTE/UMTS auto (prl)

This device has very poor band 4 performance, both LTE and hspa. This is why it is so poor on TMobile but not bad on Sprint or other carriers that don't use band 4. It's on average -9 to -15 dBm weaker on this band than my previous devices (Honor 8 and Le Pro3).

How to enable Volte on LineageOS LG V20 910?

I tried changing the default network technology to LTE only meaning GSM and WCDMA is turned off. I lost cell phone service until I swapped it back. How do I I enable enable Volte on LineageOS LG V20 910?
This is quite a serious issue. Anyone know anything on the subject?
VoLTE doesn't work on LineageOS.

unfortunetly volte will most likely never work on any rom due to its required drivers being locked down by lg.

Your best option is to install Stock Oreo 8.0 and debloat. I have been working on debloating Stock Oreo for awhile now and I finally got it. I made a twrp flashable file you can just flash and it will debloat the phone, it's called Auto_Debloat. You just flash after you have flashed Stock Oreo, Magisk and twrp ect. In the case of the H910, you only have to flash two files to install Oreo and debloat. I want to preserve such an iconic phone for the future.
Debloat the Lgv20 H910 and install Stock Oreo Rooted & Debloat ALL Lgv20 Phones Stock Oreo
After installing Stock Oreo and Debloating you may have to Call your provider and have them enable VoLTE and Wif-Calling.
