Stuck on white Google logo, and undiscoverable by PC - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Issues so far:
1. Tried to install StatixOS 16 (Pie) on rooted (Magisk) unlocked N6P (running 8.0.1) using TWRP.
2. Phone got as far as the G logo and said Powered By Android. A small, almost invisible grey progress bar thing was moving along. I left the phone for several hours, still the same thing.
3. Used TWRP to wipe the cache etc.
4. Tried to install the factory image by Fastboot, for some reason it stuffed up at the system image, did the first file then decided not to go any further.
5. Phone now has no TWRP recovery (stock bootloader and recovery are accessible) and gets to the white Google logo and that's as far as it goes.
6. Cannot connect phone to ADB or Fastboot any longer, so cannot send new images to the phone.
If anyone can find a solution to this, I would be eternally grateful, otherwise it is going to cost me a lot of money to get sorted! Thanks in advance for any advice.

Same thing here. I flashed a new CM. Did a full wipe including cache then flashed a new GAPPS, and now I'm stuck at the Google screen. I can get into fast boot, recovery etc but cannot get my phone to boot. Any ideas?
1. wipe factory
2. wipe dalvik
3. wipe cache
4. flash cm then gapps then kernel
Thanks zephiK. Problem is I don't have a ROM on my sdcard mount. How can I copy a ROM to my phone without getting into android? Thanks for any help!
If you can get into recovery (CWM) then you can use ADB to push the file. Look through some of the PINNED threads for the commands. Very helpful info.
I found that my data partition was not able to MOUNT once and nothing I could do via ADB shell would change to it to R/W so I just locked and unlocked my bootloader and all was well again.
you can either use fastboot to push the files to your phone or flash stock. if you dont know how to use fastboot try wugs toolkit

Help! Asus ZenPad 10 Z300 series stuck on logo screen

Hi, my wife got an Asus Zenpad 10 (Z300 series) tablet not too long ago, and recently it seemed to be acting up. It didn't seem to know what its battery level was so it'd suddenly shut down and would rarely stay on for a few hours if that.
I've been reading these forums and Google searching every evening for days now to no avail.
The the other day when i turned it on, it was in a bootloop. I had this happen on my own tablet so I was aware of using ADB and the recovery menu to wipe the davlik cache.
Except, that this Asus tablet only has fastboot screen (which I'd not seen before - my Samsung went to a different recovery mode), so I've been researching that more recently.
I got ADB and Fastboot working, erased the cache via Fastboot which stopped the bootloop, but it would only go as far as the logo with the little spinner circle. After messing around with fastboot trying to do a factory reset and put a custom recovery on it (TWRP) it now will only boot to the Asus logo and not even have a spinner anymore!
The flashing of anything - recovery, stock rom from ASUS (this file as I found elsewhere on these forums: UL-P01M-WW-3.3.8.0-user.zip -- although I'm not entirely sure i'm flashing correctly).
Anyway, I'm stuck with only an Asus logo or fastboot mode screen and am not that good with fastboot/adb since I only had to delve into it once to fix my own tablet over a year ago.
If anyone can help that'd be very much appreciated! :good:
[update]
OK so after failing to flash any zips (or anything!) to the device, I left it on in fastboot mode while I went to work. Now upon coming home the tablet is just a black screen! The laptop recognises it because Windows makes that chime sound when its plugged in via USB. But other than that, I can't get a response out of it Button combinations don't seem to help so now I'm not sure what to do!
Can anyone help me please? :crying:
Unless the bootloader is locked, you may have made a mistake trying to flash the ROM and trying to install a custom recovery. Anyways, if you hadn't made any changes yet to the system, I would have said check the battery first because it may be malfunctioning and not the phone it's self. I know from experience that it may have been the battery considering the way you said it was not reading the battery percentage right and shutting down. And that "bootloop", this was probably happening because it didn't have any power to start up the device as this is exactly what my device did when I had a faulty battery. My best bet is to 1 try to get a new battery, and then 2 see if your system is still intact otherwise try and reflash with the stock ROM (through adb or any computer to android debugger) and then reinstalling the right recovery that goes with the device or that of which is c-o-m-p-a-t-a-b-l-e.
Using CM12.1 on my SGH-T999
I exactly got the same issue, nothing I particularly have done as far I know, my tablet suddenly rebooted and now is stuck on Asus logo with the little circle that keeps turning.
I tried to let it go till my tablet get completely discharged and also tried to charge it completely, nothing change.
And when I wanna access to the recovery, I just get the green android mascot with the message "ERROR!". So I can't even access the recovery to reset my tablet :crying:
Edit: Tried a fastboot erase userdata and an erase cache, still bootlooping
Sorted
The only way I fixed this was by returning it to the shop and having the device replaced! Not the ideal solution, but it worked. :good:

Asus has the firmware (Nougat) for this Z300M but I've no idea how you would get this loaded. Something to learn but as long as the OS is available you should be able to get back stock, latest OS............

Soft Bricked Device - I've tried every suggestion on every thread

So, about 6mos ago, my Nexus 10 stopped working and I couldn't get it back working...eventually moved onto a new tablet, which now I hate....
Anyway, I figured I'd head back to my N10 because I loved it. However, one of the reasons I left it was because it was stuck in bootloop and I was pretty sure it was bricked.
The bad news, I have followed MANY, if not ALL, of the suggestions on getting it back, I just cannot get it to boot. The good news, fastboot connects with the tablet. So, some specifics:
The tablet WILL boot into fastboot and I can send commands and the tablet is unlocked (also, I believe someone said they had issues because they had an older version of ADB and Fastboot. I'm pretty sure I downloaded the 'most current' version 1.4.3). So, with that, I was able to do the fastboot erase functions, such as cache, userdata, system, etc... and then also load the bootloader (mantafm01) and also send the stock .zip file (image-mantaray-....) and the tablet appears to load everything fine. Thumbs up, right? However, when it reboots it stops at the 'erasing' android bot and will not pass that. I left the tablet in that state for a few minutes all the way up to 3 days...no success.
I also tried the above using Wugfresh only to have the same thing occur. So, basically, I am stuck at 'erasing' and I don't know what to do. I feel confident that the tablet has the ability to be brought back to life, I just cannot figure out how/why all of the attempts lead to the same issue.
What I can also tell you is that while fastboot 'sees' the tablet, the tablet does not appear as a device in "My Computer" like it normally did when connecting via USB. I am using the original USB cable and have tried on multiple computers, all to no avail. I've downloaded/installed the drivers, as instructed on many links. Also, while I can get to the 'Recovery Mode' by pressing Power, Volume Up, Volume Down, if I choose "Recovery Mode" on the tablet, it reboots and goes to the 'erasing' screen. I have tried flashing TWRP on the tablet using fastboot as well. And, sometimes, not all the time, the TWRP blue/black screen appears but it will not progress past that screen (i.e., it doesn't go into recovery).
So, if you can, please help. I believe I have followed all of the instructions, but I have to be missing something or not following something correctly. I'm stoked that it looks like it's only soft-bricked, I just can't get it un-bricked.
Thanks in advance!
Looks like you are trying hard to find a solution. I think it may be helpful if you try to manually install the o/s rather that using Wugfresh and report back any errors. See
https://androidforums.com/threads/guide-how-to-flash-a-nexus-factory-image-manually.706533/ At step 11 I would flash the individual image files and also follow the instructions re erasing and flashing userdata.
AFAIK you will not see an Android device when using Fastboot - Android hasn't loaded at this stage.
Thanks peterk-1. Unfortunately, this does not work. I followed the steps, with the exception of the radio file as my Nexus 10 is wi-fi only. It goes through the stock image update perfectly fine and reboots itself. At that point, it's back to the moving android at the 'erasing' screen.
One thing to note with the link you provided; no where does it indicate flashing a recovery, stock or custom. Now, I've tried flashing stock, TWRP and CWM and none seem to work. TWRP comes closest with the black/blue splash screen, but will not open further.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
You did go to the posted link? I quote:
Step 8: We now want to wipe the device. Use the following commands in order:
........
fastboot erase recovery
............
Step 11: We will now flash the system, boot, and recovery ..........................................
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Unfortunately, same result...

[PROBLEM] MI A1 Black Screen Image after boot Image

Hello, it is my first time trying to write a post on xda so excuse me if I do something wrong.
I've been playing with Roms a lot of time, installing, uninstalling, bricking and unbricking phones. so have a pretty good idea of how it works but now I just don't know what I did wrong and my phone is just ... in a black screen after boot image.
I was currently on DP5 android 9 by @joeyhuab and everything worked perfectly. Today was released android Pie and I just want to try it. So, I made the steps for DP5 to PR1 and everything runs well until I reboot from TWRP to the system. Now when I turn the phone on. it just appears the boot logo and later a black screen.
I can't restart the phone pressing the power button after some seconds but it goes to the boot image and later the black image screen (of the dead) appears.
1. I can't go to TWRP. (power+ Vol+)
2. I can't go to Fastboot. (power+ Vol-)
3. Charge Image is not displaying.
Windows sounds when i connected on the black screen state but fastboot don't.
This is my first time dealing with this kind of problem. I just don't know what would be the next step to try, Mi A1 is one of the best phones and I don't want to lose it.
Thank you for reading XDA, You are the best

I also had this issue I think it is because of any xposed modules or magisk modules.
When I flashed xposed uninstaller, the phone revived

I am not able to do that I can't go to twrp mode here also same black black screen.I can go to fastboot mode but I am not enabled usb debugging mode and system is not recognising mobile.
Help me how can I solve this..
Thanks in advance. ?
Install 'scrcpy' in your PC. Try to flash twrp from PC using fastboot and adb method. (I hope fastboot shows up on your phone) if u can boot to twrp via PC then go ahead and install any other rom. If u can't then connect your phone to PC and open scrcpy.exe here you can control your screen. (Most custom roms come with usb debugging enabled, if not try " AEX V.6.1 rom)
Usb debugging is compulsory. Thanks a lot for the information I will try this.
So i had this exact same issue. It was booting to twrp but screen was just blank.
i was trying to root the devive so i flashed the zip file by following command through adb
adb shell twrp install /sdcard/Magisk-v23.0.zip
it flashed the magisk and it was done. Similarly you can flash any zip file. If zip file is not copied to internal memory you can copy it using following command
adb push Magisk-v23.0.zip /sdcard/
I hope it helps someone in need.
Thanks.
Hi similar problem. Phone was locked in bootloop. I use reset pin and flash latest fw, flash successful in 220sec. Then screen stays black. Holding any combination will power up phone with black screen... wonder if it burn resistor or it is a flash issue. Trying to reflash again, however it stays 1000sec and still flashing.
Hi have mine FIXED.
Tried again to flash with android 9. Not able to finish flash in 4hrs. Then disconnect. Screen show battery 100%, then again only black screen but powered. Also 3 buttons are lighting. So I start pushing them and the screen, got some feedback and sound from touching the screen. Then the phone restart, screen ON. Show the normal white screen and ENCRYPTING storage screen that should come after flash. Then again reboot itself and start installing android (just taking a lot of time). Now all work on android 9, not giving option for OEM update to android 10, however afraid to flash again... good enough for my son (either way will break it in an year).
p.s
Im Samsung S class user for 10 years, so it is quite unfriendly phone... (need debugging on to connect to PC, for file transfer )
At last I found a way to run TWRP on tissot correctly without black screen.
Just install oreo 3.2.1-2 on Mi A1 (tissot).
This file (recovery-3.2.1-2-oreo.img) is working well.
Download it from this site:

Nexus 10 boot stuck on google logo... bootloader ok, but recovery does same thing.

I replaced my GNEX10 battery last january. Aside from the battery calibration being off... (which eventually corrected itself!) it's been working fine. As of late it had rebooted itself while I was using it a few times. A few days ago, it had enough battery such that I left it on overnight. I picked it up the next morning and the notification lamp was flashing so I knew it was still on. I tried to wake it up without success. Usually a quick tap on the power button should do it. Nothing. So I rebooted... and on the google logo it stuck. I knew that a factory reset was probably in order since I didn't do it when I replaced the batter... I got it into the recovery screen... but I could not get the menu. I likely didn't press the right volume rocker. Then I tried again... booted to the bootloader, and selected recovery. This time, and since, only the google logo comes up. No andy on his back with "no command". It just tries to boot into something. I can't do a factory reset this way.
I tried the Nexus Root Toolkit. I can only get it to recognize the device if it's in the bootloader... when I try to use it to boot to recovery, same thing and the NRT says waiting for device... and gets no further. I tried to use it to flash (stock?) recovery but the N10 just sits there on the twrp logo screen and nothing more after temporarily booting into twrp. Just keeps saying "waiting for device"
Anyone have any suggestions! Getting seriously bummed!
So one more data point... I manually rebooted into the bootloader after trying to flash the stock recovery using the NRT. Then it appeared to flash the recovery image.... here is the bit of the log where it ended up:
Checking Fastboot Connectivity
fastboot devices
R32CB04GHGT fastboot
+ Fastboot Device Connected
Flashing Stock Recovery to RECOVERY partition...
fastboot flash recovery "C:\usr\NRT\data\Recovery_Stock\recovery_stock_mantaray_5.1.1_LMY49J.img"
Temporarily Booting TWRP...
fastboot boot "C:\usr\NRT\data\Recovery_Custom\TWRP\twrp-3.0.2-0-manta.img"
Flashing 'undo-perm-recovery-signed.zip'...
Waiting for your device...
That's where it ended up... not getting any further. Once again, attempting to boot into recovery gets it stuck on the Google logo.
How screwed am I? Is there a thread somewhere in the forum anyone can point me at?
Well, in spite of the crickets... I understand. I've managed to resurrect my Nexus 10. Alas there are no good contemporary replacements. The last so-called nexus table google put out there was too damn expensive in the first place and they seem to have abandoned the tablet market to others.
So the key question here: So long as I can get this tablet into the bootloader is it generally possible to reflash a stock image? I'd like to know of any types of caveats etc. The mystery I have still though is: How or why did my N10 get into this state (of of only being able to get to the Google screen) in the first place? I didn't have any questionable apps installed etc. I was totally on stock. One thing that did happen a week or two prior to my tablet going belly up... was somehow the thing lost my google account info and gmail had none of my accounts in place... it was very odd.
I did have to wipe the system because evidently you can't flash anything onto a locked bootloader (the Nexus Root Toolkit by wugfresh is up to date so far as the N10 is concerned at least). I know I could have resorted to using fastboot.exe and the adb directly but this was a touch easier. Alas the backup options for it say you need an unlocked bootloader which seems to be a chicken/egg issue if you've always been on stock.... so it goes.
