SM-900W8 Won't Boot - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a note 3 that has always worked flawlessly until today. The phone has a stock ROM, is rooted and has a custom recovery. I am selling the phone so I wanted to go into recovery and clean the phone for sale.
When I tried to go into recovery, the phone looked like it was going in, but after a minute or so, the phone rebooted. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 logo appears and on the upper left corner it says, "Recovery Booting, Set Warranty Bit: recovery", then it reboots.
I installed Samsung USB drivers, went into download mode to flash the original ROM, but Odin doesn't recognize the phone. There isn't any sim in the phone, but I doubt that makes a difference.
Any help would be great, thanks,
Ian

Tried using different usb cables and usb ports?
Where did you get the custom bootloader?

What model Note 3 ??

Sorry, I meant to say the phone has a custom recovery (TWRP) and it's been on the phone a couple of years. I used the phone up until February when the screen cracked and I got a new digitizer for it. it's been sitting since. Yes, I tried 2 different cables and 2 different USB ports

SM-N900W8, the phone was bought from Telus, but has been unlocked.

If Odin doesn't recognize the phone, there is no way I know of to flash a stock ROM.
Is it possible the USB port is damaged?

I replaced the USB port, just in case. I think it's the mainboard though. The phone will only turn on if I plug the USB cable in, then it goes through the recovery then shutoff routine again. The battery measures 4.3 volts, is this too low? Maybe the battery is too low and when it is plugged in it starts to boot, but shuts down due to a low battery? How can I charge the battery if when I plug the phone in it turns on and wont charge?

The phone will not charge in recovery mode or download mode so it could be a battery problem. The battery voltage may be too low. Do you have access to another battery to try?

[Q] How to return to stock recovery and rom without USB

Hi guys,
Im actually using samsung galaxy s GT-9001 and have recently ran into a serious problem. actually two
Problem 1 : Usb cable malfuction
Im unable to connect my phone to pc, windows reports unrecognised device (was able before, tried few PC, cables) , furthermore im unable to charge my device unless i remove the battery, connect the charger then put the battery back up. Also noticed if i just put the charger on turned off device it boots instantly (skiping the option to charged as turned off), it does charge over USB, but does not recognise it.
Problem 2 : How to return to stock recovery and rom without USB
In regards to my problem number 1 , i have decided to give a shot at warranty, unfortunately cannot get rid of my CWM and custom ROM without ODIN. Any ideas how i could go back to stock rom + stock recovery without USB cable?
ps: Only created this thread as my last resort, after countless hours of browsing and testing. Please help
furthermore im unable to charge my device unless i remove the battery, connect the charger then put the battery back up. [/QUOTE]

Phone charging when usb unplugged (4.4.2)

Flashed the KitKat like everyone did and now my computer does not detect my phone... And phone shows that it's being charged even after i plug out my usb cable... :'(
I have reflashed the firmware multiple times...
(EDIT)
I did flashed the 4.4 bootloader ... My phone did not boot without flashing the boot loader... I'm now certain that something is wrong with my firmware... Because odin detects my phone pretty well...
- I have few problems now my phone does not detect when i plug it in the usb wall plug , means doesn't show that it is charging
- Or it shows that the device is charging even when the usb is not connected...
- PC does not recognize it

Trouble fixing up my Samsung SG-9006V hard bricked

Hello to everybody. I hope, you can understand me, because my english is terrible. I flashed the bootloader of my phone with a wrong image and I did a hard bricked, but my phone is not dead at all, so I have some hope to get it back. The first signal is that when I prees the power bottom a soft white bright appear on the left side of display, passed a second this light turn off and after turn up, and do this cyclically. The other sign is when I press the combination volume up+menu+power buttoms and appear a menu with three option, normal boot, recovery boot, fastboot, I must press volume down to ok, but when I press it dont work, dont work with any bottom I press. Well I saw in other post the sd card class 10 method to boot my phone but it didnt work. Today I dismantling it, I found 4 pins (RDX1, RDX2) (TXD1, TXD2). I assumed it was the serial port signal so, with a rs232 integrated circuit did something to connect to my pc with a usb-serial port cable, but it didnt work, odin and ADB not recognized my phone. Is there some software that work with DOS OS?. Somebody with more experience know something more?. I thinked to use a BOX software that they work with COM port but I dont know if it will work. Thank
Does Volume Down & Home & Power take you to download mode?
If yes, flash TWRP, and then the correct bootloader from TWRP recovery
Or just try flashing a full stock ROM with ODIN from download mode

Hard bricked is hardware bricked.
Soft bricked is software bricked.
You say you have signs of life so it's not the hardware......
If the download mode button combination doesn't work, buy a USB jig off eBay.....They cost pocket change....
Plugging it into the usb socket in your phone will force the phone into download mode.....even if it's powered off.
Then you can flash the correct software.

The micro usb socket 'form' (shape/design) is standard right across the Galaxy range....I've used a Galaxy W, a Galaxy S2, a Galaxy S4, a Galaxy S5 and a Note 4......They all use the same usb socket.....
The difference between usb 2 and 3 is purely data transfer speed......
In all other respects, usb 3 is backwards compatible with usb 2.......
The jig WILL work......If anything does....

What do you mean it didn't work?
I know ebay deliver fairly quickly, but last time I checked, they weren't offering a same day delivery service....so unless you already had one, there is no way on earth you could have tried it....

Apologies, but I I thought you didnt read the post carefully, I thought you read very quickly. But I think my english is very bad, sorry for that it wasnt my intention to offend.
I didnt buy the jig I did it. It´s easy to do, I saw information in the net. It comes a resistance of 300Kohm between pin 4 and 5. I had in my home the plug and the resistances

Galaxy S5 Bootloops after cable remove

Hi guys
I have a Galaxy S5 and when i remove the charging cable it restart and goes into bootloop. The only way to get the phone in work condition is to plug it in charge.
Any idea?I didnt wipe the phone yet because is my fathers daily driver.
I flash new rom and recovery(twrp) but the issue still exists.
Thank you very much!
I had a phone do that. The usb on the bottom was shorting out and not working properly. And every time it shorted the phone killed power as a safety feature. It might need to go into a shop.

Heeelp Please!!

I installed this rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138 on the same ROM but rooted now my phone does not support turbo charging and if I plug my phone to the pc is not displayed, before that clean the micro usb port of my phone, I do not know if it damaged it or does not support turbo charge for having flashed wrong.
Could you tell me what the problem is? if it is wrong flashed as I flash it back if I can not connect it to the pc? or is it the micro usb port and do I have to change it?

No rom affects turbo charging in any way. Check the temperature of your phone and the connection/cable. Reflashing may be an option to.
@megasjuan turbo charging is hardware feature and has nothing effect even of wrong flash (many one did wrong flashing and lost one imei of slot-2 and with model number, in your case it seems to be fine, right? )
You said you cleaned usb port, it may be damaged that while, or may be not.
Turn your phone off and plug it to charging, then see what that charging screen says.
For computer connection, try updating driver / remove and install again / change usb cable or different usb slot of computer.
Then you can conclude what's wrong.
Thaks
