I'm getting great battery on mine!
... Errrr, that was a dream I had last night. No edge for me yet.
Well i dont have the phone yet so i cant say to much.
but its only about 220mah less then the note 4.
It is newer tech tho and has a better battery saver then the note 3.
So my guess is the battery would last about as long as the note 3.
If the sidebar is able to display notifications/marquis stuff with the main panel off, then it would seem to make sense that during the course of a day you'd likely have a little less screen time, resulting in slightly better battery performance... thoughts?

True.
Just like how dark backgrounds give you better battery then light one.
This would be just a small part the the screen lite vs the full.
But to truly find out we needs hands on.
Samsung announced that battery charging is only 30 minutes For 50%
whether it applies when ON or OFF? since we know that charging while ON and OFF are different, while on its faster charging.
Current condition note 3 off charging at about 2 hours for charging 100%, and when phone on, a bit faster (do not know exactly) ..
how long charging to 100% while on and off for note 4?
but it was great news for 30m for 50%

You'll only want to do this occasionally if you want the battery to last long.

Yup, I think so. I prefer charging while phone off, because the battery last longer. But sometimes quick charging in a hurry really helpful, doesn't it?
What difference does the phone being on or off make on longevity ? Never heard of one.
And im pretty sure they mean while off. Unless the phone can be on at 0% lol. 30 mins 0-50% 99mins 0-full.

Hey guys, How you all doing ?
First of all, I recently got in hands a Nexus 6p! Bought It used (8 months of use), and its perfect, everything os ok.
Then, I rooted It and now i'm using the Android O ROM, with franco kernel.
But, I've been noticed that the battery sometimes drains 2%-3% too quickly. And yesterday my phone shutdown at 18%!
I was experiencing the 2-3% drain on 7.1.2, but not the shutdown.
I dont get that bad SOT, like 3h-4:30 is still a thing for me.
What do you guys think ? Is It bad battery or software related problem ?
Should I consider doing this trick and go back to Android N ? https://www.google.com.br/amp/s/for...-6p/help/nougat-battery-bug-fix-t3559250/amp/
Here is one print from my screen on time and accubattery.

First of all, going "back" to anything is not going to help you. Android 8.0 is not the issue, it may be a degraded battery, especially if you are having early shutdowns. Please open the Health page (Saúde) and post it. That is where you will find your estimated battery capacity relative to a new battery. You should have a few full charges before this percentage stabilizes. Try draining it as low as you can go (or when it shuts off), and then let the phone charge fully until Accubattery tells you your phone is fully charged NOT the phone reporting 100%. It's common for the phone to continue charging 45-60 minutes beyond the phone reporting 100% and you need to keep it on the charger until completely full to get an accurate capacity estimate. Hope this helps. Boa sorte!
Okay. I went back to 7.1.2, early shutdowns got resolved, but the 2℅ drain not.
I followed all the steps of the guide I posted, changed governator, etc..
It have seen to got a little better. Will report back after a few days of usage with accubattery health status.
Thanks!
Hello
I have a A5 2016 (A510F) that has been under Android 7.0 for a while. A few days ago, it prompted me to do an update. I didn't check what it did, and installed it ; the version number is now "NRD90M.A510FXXU4CQL7".
After the update, the battery was dropping alarmingly fast, literaly 1% per minute while the screen was on.
I "re-calibrated" the battery by letting it drop to 10% and charging it back to 100%. Since then it's better, but I feel that it hasn't gotten up to its previous battery life. Before the update I remember using my phone normally for about 2 days without charging it, but yesterday it has dropped from 100 to 0% in one day for the first time ever, without my usage changing.
So my questions are :
- is it normal, has anyone else encountered the same problem ?
- can the battery life climb back up ?
- is the update responsible for the battery life drop, or am I imagining it ?
- if it is because of the update, is it possible to revert the firmware to a previous version ? I have found downloadables at "samsung-firmware.org", is it safe to grab them there ?
Thanks for your help !
Is there another way in which we can calibrate the battery? I know of the normal route of letting it drain to 0%, but it isn't possible on my Pure. The phone will go dead somewhere between 35% and 45% and will not turn back on until I plug a charger into it. It does the same thing again if I unplug it without letting it fully charge. It will not let me get to 0%.
Any help is appreciated.
Battery calibration is a myth. Your battery is failing, plain and simple.
Typically calibrating software should be minimal but with modem electronics and phones, it is pretty much a useless venture. If your phone is cutting off at any level in the double digits and not coming on until some charging, your battery is failing as stated already.
Battery Calibration is a myth... corrupt configurations and information files is not. Several people who have had this who then perform a full factory reset see the "early shutdown" issue go away but the battery rarely lasts any longer after a few days.
The device and battery inside are 3+ years old... either replace the battery with a quality OEM one or move to a new device, either option will correct the problem.
If your willing to pay for it, which I already have done. Pixel 2 xl. Had it for a week. SOT well above 7 hours. Couldn't hold out for the pixel 3 do to MXP complete failure. Only thing I miss is Moto Actions. MXP was an awesome phone, from sound quality, phone reception, screen quality but the battery was a failure. Lenovo went the wrong direction with the X4 and now axed the moto x line completely. Pixel 2 xl to me was a good choice second was the Z2 but lack of support and Verizon locking it up. I will admit the slight blue is still there , but now I don't even notice it. Literally have to angle the phone to less than 45 degrees to notice. Any ways its time to move on.

time to change the battery! I tried everything from recalibrating to battery stats reset to force doze etc. I live in Iran and Motorola parts are really hard to find. finally, I was able to get a new FX30 battery for MXPE and now I only have to charge my phone once! never charge your phone overnight. If you want to keep the phone I strongly recommend battery change, the difference is day and night!
Thanks for all of the tips guys. More than likely I'm moving on instead of trying to change the battery. Now to decide what I move to.
hello friends ,i got a new battery (it seems original) and installed it but i have weird problems with the percentage that the phone shows .
-the battery lasts for 9h sot even with some benchmarks on latest pie ob ,so its definitely not bad
-the problem is that when it gets to 10% then it goes 9 8 7.. till 0% in about 5 minutes and then shuts off with a dead battery screen .
-i noticed that the phone still charges when it reaches 100% charges at 1 amp and gets to 0 amps after 20 minutes ,i also noticed that the idle/screen off drain is very very low ,it probably has to do something with the battery calibration
i tried:
going full stock with stock recovery but the issue persists,
doing some all night power off charges to 100%
searched most of the threads everywhere ,but no one has an exact answer .
is there any way i can access the discharging algorithm so i can tweak it ,or if is a way to teach it be more precise?
thanks so much for everyone willing to help ,sory for the long post ,i wanted to be as precise as possible i can provide everything you ask for to fix it .
p.s. i study electrical engineering so be free to use scientific terms.

Not a solution, but just keep the battery level above 10%
9h sot is very good with a battery you don't know if it's original or not

it was 9 sot hours with 3 hours of geekbench battery test (about 14%/hour lost) without any tweaks at all , completely stock ... that's the reason i am trying to fix this issue, the performance is insane ..(every calibration app shows at least 99% health,it even recharges way faster that the old one ,3.8A 10 to 100 in 45 minutes) if it wasn't that i would swap it back with the stock ..

Technically you want to avoid the battery dropping below 20% anyway (If you believe the words from Samsung) so it shouldn't really be an issue.
One thing you can try though is to install L Speed from the play store (require root) and use the battery calibration tool to see if that helps. Outside of this I cant really think of any thing else other than to just deal with it as is.
i figured it out guys...the thermistor in the battery was dead , i though a solution for anyone face the same problem ,desolder the control board from the original battery then solder it to the new one ,the cells are healthier so the battery will be good as new ?
