So I turned off battery optimization in battery - advanced optimization and also turned off optimization for specific apps having issue.. still some apps are not sending any notifications after couple of hours and widgets are also not refreshing the data... Once I open the app, they will send notifications for next 1 or so and then stop sending them again..
Hi! This is a known issue. There's a workaround for this.

I use the Gmail app with my phone, and notice that when a new email comes in, it takes the v20 5 to 10 minutes before the Gmail notification is on the status bar.
With other phones tested it was borderline instant. With the v20 sometimes I'd have the unlock the phone before the Gmail notification pops up.
Is there a fix for this?

1st,ensure sync is turned on for G-Mail in the account settings.
Next, check your per-app doze settings & ensure doze is not enabled for any app where this is occurring.
(Settings > Battery & Power Saving > Battery Usage)
Scroll down until you see Battery Optimizations & select the apps that may be adversely affected by doze.
Hi there
I have this issue again where I don't receive notifications with Google Inbox app when I receive email.
I had this issue before on my s6 and it was related to power saving. There was a way to fix this and only for a specific app. But now I can't find it even did Google Search.
Also tried to look into it via S8 settings everywhere but can't find it and I don't want to shut off power savings mode.
Any idea how I can disable it just for specific apps?
you'll need to set Inbox to "Apps not optimized"
in battery usage (device maint. > battery > battery usage > 3 dots > optimized apps )
choose All apps then turn off toggle for Inbox.
I've been having this kind of problem with WhatsApp. I see the notification icon arrive but it doesn't really notify me with sound until after a couple of minutes.
Hopefully what @crayonyes wrote is what I needed. Thanks in advance!
Thanks. I did that. Unfortunately still doesn't work. I checked everything, all notifications & sync is on. I even put Inbox as high priority app. Still no notifications.
I've had so many problems with Google Inbox & notifications on my previous Galaxy and now again. Just really annoying it persists.
Not sure what to do now.

Try clearing data for Gmail. This has worked for a few people.
Hi!
Like a lot of people, I've had problems with push notifications which seem to have been at least partially solved by exempting specific apps from battery optimization. The other issue I'm seeing with notifications is that they are not cleared or have a long delay. For example, if I delete an email in gmail on my computer, the phone notification will take at least two minutes to clear. This sometimes happen in reverse - I'll delete/read an email on my phone, and the gmail web will still show the email as unread.
Also, if I get a notification from facebook, if I clear it on my computer it won't be cleared on the phone. This I suspect might be a Nova launcher problem, but I'm not sure as I've had so much trouble with notifications even before I switched to Nova.
Can anyone help sort out the notification clearing problems?
Anyone?
Hi, i wanna ask about delay notifications. I'm using my phone for work, so i need real time notifications for every message that i got from gmail and another applications.
The problem are :
1. Delay notifications, the delay notifications solved when i turn off some applications from battery optimization.
But it's only solved the problems when the screen on
2. Delay notifications when screen off.
I've already change the Doze to disable from Adb [adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable], it's solved in the first time i tried. but never success after restart until now. Every time I set the Doze Disable from Adb for now, and when i check it from CPU Spy, there's always got deep sleep (Doze). Never success again for disable the Doze
any solutions?
You can try the delay notifications like this :
1. Let the screen turn off, and waiting 5-10 minutes
2. Better there's no any notification from SMS, Phone Call or Whatsapp etc arround 5-10 minutes
3. Send some Gmail message into your Samsung S10 Plus from another account and another Devices
4. You'll never received the email until you turn on the screen
That's my problems :crying:

I've already 3 times reset. Still have some problems
Hi,
Even I am also facing the similar problem.. But for whatsapp I found one work around.
Go to setting - - > Notification - - > Messages.
You'll find pop up notification there.. You can set it as 'only when screen off'. Please check the attached screenshot.
Then.. You'll get the notifications on lock screen..

For whatsapp i've no any problems from the first time. But for another apps like indonesian marketplace and gmail, but i've solved my problems for now.
I've install 2 application for turn on the CPU in the background, so there's no any delay and no any deep sleep for my phone for now.
@LoGaY how did you solve it?
Hi,
I have a redmi k20 on Chinese ROM. I receive no whatsapp notifications at all. I had this problem on miui 10 and it persists in miui 11. This issue is driving me insane.
I have granted all permissions for whatsapp, disabled battery saver, enabled notifications and locked the app in memory. I have also cleared app data and reinstalled whatsapp multiple times. It's very weird. When I open whatsapp, any new received messages appear. Also, if I'm in a whatsapp chat and I receive a message from a different conversation, it closes the chat I'm in and I lose whatever I was typing.
Any advice?

MIUI always close apps that use too much memory, you need an AOSP ROM to "fix" this
Put the original theme.
or test various themes until it works.
themes don't work well with lookscreen

How to fix MIUI push notifications in 2019
MIUI has come a long way in the last two years. And while the interface has received a much-needed facelift and a trove of new features, it still has a few lingering issues. Push notifications continue to be a significant problem in MIUI thanks to Xiaomi's aggressive memory management, but there is a workaround. Here's how to fix push notifications in MIUI 10.
Open Settings from the home screen.
Scroll down to the Apps sub-menu.
Select Permissions.
How to fix push notifications in MIUI 10
Tap Autostart.
Choose the apps that aren't sending push notifications.
Toggle the slider to ensure the apps always start in the background.
How to fix push notifications in MIUI 10
If you don't see a particular app listed in autostart or are still facing issues with notifications, you should disable the built-in battery optimization. Doing so will ensure that the app isn't being restricted by MIUI's memory management.
Open Settings from the home screen.
Scroll down to the System & Device sub-menu.
Select Battery & performance
How to fix push notifications in MIUI 10
Tap Choose apps.
Select the app that isn't showing notifications.
Choose No restrictions.
How to fix push notifications in MIUI 10
Choosing the No restrictions mode is the best way to prevent MIUI from killing off an app running in the background. This is also the method that has worked for me over the years with Gmail and Slack. So if you're having problems with push notifications, this is the best way to get around the issue.

Interesting question but is the sound set ON for the notifications? Just curious because some of the apps on my phone had it muted and set to vibrate only so I had to go to Notifications section find the needed app and set the sound ON.
And the other thing is that Whatsup is blocked in China maybe Chinese ROM is missing some service required by Whatsup or preventing it to work properly, no clue can't say.
