How to get boot sounds - Essential Phone Questions & Answers

Hello, I'm new to rooting and installing new roms and the like. I have lineage OS installed and I found where to change the boot animation. However, I cannot figure out how to add a boot sound. I tried adding a "Poweron.mp3" in media/audio/ui but that didn't work.

Problem flashing framework-res.apk with stock rom

Posted this on another forum as well, but this site appears to have more traffic:
Has anyone else tried to modify the framework-res.apk of their stock rooted rom? I've been able to do it with customs, but I appear to be stuck in the boot animation after flashing to a stock rom. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong(or if it's even possible).
I'm using framework flasher, which I know works because I've tested it with two other custom roms. I've tried both twrp and cwm for flashing, but no difference. I've wiped both cache and dalvik. I even deodexed the rom(at least, I think I did). Result is always initially booting to the animation, followed by android updating all the apps(with a black background where there usually is my wallpaper). When it gets to "starting apps" it restarts the boot animation and sticks with that indefinitely. I then have to restore and try something else. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I may have to stick with a custom, even though I was hoping to fiddle around with the stock instead.
I've also tried pushing the file via ADB and deodexing the rom again - still no luck.

Permanantly stuck at CM Animation

Hi,
I was using a CM11 4.4.2 Rom for a few months now, and this morning I found it stuck at the CM boot animation loop.
So I went ahead and downloaded latest version of CM11 20140717, I wiped cache/dalvik/data and flashed new rom. And it was still stuck in Animation bootloop.
Then I used safewipe to wipe then flashed 20140717 rom a few times and the same thing kept happening. (I waitad for good more than 15mins for it to boot up).
Later I also tried flashing with 20140616 CM11 build, it also had the same result.
Only difference was 20140616 build has the circular boot animation while for 20140717 build I noticed the Android text flashing as it ised to be in the stock rom.
Can you guys help me, what do I need to do, Flashing stock ROM (sbf) would be the last thing I want to do, Do I need to do that ?

Surprisingly I found an exact same thread like mine Not sure why I did not find it all the time when I was searching this evening.

And to solve this I used the same solution i.e. flash the sbf

[Q] No boot animation

First off, if this is in the wrong section, I'm sorry. This is only my second day here.
So the other day I rooted, and installed Eclipse ROM on my Verizon S5. I thought it would be fun to change the boot animation and installed CWM_CustomBootanimation_44_Enable.zip, but all that it did after multiple attempts to add an animation (Through 3 different root file managers) was get rid of the animation. How can I get it working correctly, or at the very least uninstall it?

Boot loop on CM 12 causes by Mind Theme

Hi Guys
I just want to warn you guys about Mind Theme (CM12 theme). After I installed and used Mind theme on my Oneplus One with Blisspop ROM, it causes my phone to get stuck in boot loop after reboot my phone. You won't have problem using the theme but whenever you reboot your phone it will get stuck in boot loop. I tried to solve the problem by following an instruction on one forum by deleting theme folder (data/system/theme) but I was unable to delete the whole folder by using TWRP. At least I was able to delete the boot animation file and my phone ultimately reboot to Blisspop animation again; however, my phone got stuck in Blisspop boot loop this time and I eventually had to restore and flashed new ROM. If any one has solution for this it will be very helpful. I don't think I am the only one that has this problem. By the mean time, stay away from Mind Theme for now until they make changes.

Black screen after factory reset

so... my phone suddenly wouldn't accept my password anymore to unlock. i tried a couple of things, like deleting the files lockscreen files using TWRP to bypass that... but then it got stuck in a "android is booting" screen and everytime i tried to change my PIN, it would crash.
So i went to TWRP and wanted to reflash my ROM (I was using Resurrection Remix), but then I couldn't decrypt the data because ... the password again wouldn't work. so I finally decided to use sideload to try to flash everything again and it works, but the problem is that even after the factory reset, the phone will boot up but there won't be any images. You can hear the jingle play when you first turn on any android phone... but it's all black.
edit: I've tried flashing two different roms: RR & Lineage OS, both will boot up, but same problem.
I haven't been able to back anything up because... well the OS wouldn't boot up and my TWRP was being wonky and I can't restore anything...
Anyone have any ideas of how to fix this? I feel like i could use the format data and start from scratch... and make it work but then I assume that would wipe my titanium backups, which I haven't been able to extract out. so if anyone has any guidance on how to do that, that would be great. I've tried to use adb to extract stuff out but it hasn't worked and now I can't even do it anymore because I don't have usb debugging on.

have you try to re-flash your TWRP? maybe re-flasing your TWRP will work, also maybe installing the original rom will work, and then you can try to flash whatever rom you desire
as i know doing a factory reset from the TWRP delete all of your files, i mean everything. so i don't think that you still have the backup files
Flash the Official recovery of the oneplus 5 and then install OOS by adb into thé recovery.
