Support on this phone model is pretty much dead, does anyone have any idea if it's gonna have android 8.0 update at the least? There's almost nothing about this phone anywhere.

So, someone from AT&T FINALLY contacted me about my issue, and they informed me that the reason why Im not receiving the Nougat update is because I don't have the latest security patch. For some reason my Edge is still on the November patch. They suggested I go to Best Buy and have them flash the newest patch for 6.0.1, then I should be able to receive the update.
My schedule is rather hectic, so I'd much rather flash it myself at home. Can anyone please direct me to where I could find the most recent security patch so I can flash it in Odin?
First, you are in the wrong section. Please head over there: AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Discussion.
Second, I think there's no newer Marshmallow release available. Anyways this may help you:
Marshmallow build
Nougat build

I am having the same issue, not sure how to update, each time I check ... it says its up to date.
You have to wait for it to become available. Actually my roommate and I both have 950U's. His loaded automatically months ago. I had to look around and then it was in my updates. Have Samsung experience level 9.0, which supposedly is as good as Oreo 8.1. That's good, because I can't find a way to get the real 8.1. If you run the latest patch/system update from April 1st, you have installed a level 3 bootloader and are the proud owner of one of the few phones that cannot be rooted! Congratulations! Maybe someday. My build number has changed to R16NW.G950USQS3CRE2

Hi.
I have a G955U Galaxy S8+ AT&T Factory Unlocked on Android 7.0
Baseband Version: G955USQU1AQC9
Android Security Patch Level - April 1, 2017
I no longer live in the US, and currently in the Philippines. Phone works great and the signal is too and all, but I cannot get OTA updates. Every time i try to update it says that its up to date.
I have tried different ways to update it that i read online, The latest one that I have tried is following the steps given from this Thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s8+/how-to/sprint-released-oreo-s8-s8-flashing-t3915872 but it gave me this output https://prnt.sc/oqjnp6
My phone is not rooted or anything just a normal phone. I am just trying to update it to the latest Android Version 9.0(Pie) , I just made this thread for the reason of maybe someone can help me on updating my phone.
Where you able to update it? Or are you still having issues?
Hi guys,
Really dumb question.
I currently have an Exynos S7 edge which is running the latest version of firmware 8.0. I wanted to downgrade the firmware to do location spoofing (just to test things for fun) but latest security patch etc. means I cant do it, if I'm correct? I would need to go back to a early android 7.0 2017 firmware version & I don't think this is possible, ODIN hasn't worked so I'm guessing not?
Anyway I need Google play services to be a really old version like 12.4ish I think. Currently on 17.something.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a ROM or firmware I can use to do this?
Thanks
