Screen damaged when exposed to Sunlight for 15 minutes. - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Questions & Answers

This happened to my phone. When I was browsing while I'm on bus. Then max pro m1 screen suddenly started flickering, then it's touch sense gone, then bigger lines started appearing. I'm thinking that screen backlit panel was damaged due to the Sunlight exposed on screen in the bus, (since i got my phone exposed to sunlight over 30 minutes).
& I thought that after battery 0% restarting phone may solve issue, but no. Screen was still flikering.
I got my phone rooted & i'm in custom rom. So obviously WARRANTY is void.
So, my suggestion to max pro m1 users... Plz... don't expose screen to Sunlight for more than 15 minutes.:crying:

If your screen is working fine in custom rom then its not a hardware fault...so no link b/w screen flicker and sunlight

I succesfully replaced my screen in my Tytn but...

Everytime i touch my screen or phone, the brightness goes to maximum (as bright as the camera) when i don't touch it, it goes back to normal. Pretty fancy effect, but i doubt that's good for the battery life. I checked all connectors (including camera on mainboard) and everything seems fine.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
So, the display doesn't go off completely until the phone suspends? If that's the case then you got a transmissive display. I hope your previous display wasn't a transflective one, otherwise your replacement was a downgrade...
The backlight goes off after 20 seconds (its configured like that) and then it doesn't flicker anymore. It only does the flickering (normal backlight => i touch it => maximum brightness => i don't touch it => normal backlight) when the backlight is activated.
The weird thing is, that it also does this when i touch the case and not the screen, this makes me think that it's fixable.
I need some help here: what exactly is the difference between a transmissive and a transflective display?
Problem solved. There was not enough pressure on the back of the upper side of the slider. Put in a little piece of plastic to keep the pressure on the connectors. Now working fine.

[Q] pressure marks on screen

Hi,
Sliding out keyboard causes pressure marks on screen (attached video). Is it dangerous? I noticed this some time after getting back my phone from the waranty service, they replaced front panel and lcd flex. Can it be reason of this issue?

The max damage you can cause to your device is, in my opinion, some dead pixels, but no, this is not the regular behavior of the MS2 slider keyboard

LG G2 -- Screen brightness can't exceed 40%

Hello.
The other day my phone suffered a little water damage. Not submerged in water or anything, but a couple drops found their way into the phone. The phone was turning off/on and functioning, but the display was black. I could feel buttons being pressed and stuff...the screen just wasn't illuminated. Well, I left it alone for a while, and now the screen works to a degree.
It's functioning perfectly, except it can't go above 40% brightness or the phone's screen goes black. As soon as I move the slider at or below 40%, the screen works perfectly again.
Obviously whatever illuminates the screen is damaged to some degree. The same thing happens when using apps like Lux...so I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem now. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what exactly could be damaged so I can fix it myself, or have anything to try before taking it apart again.
Thanks!

[Q] Screen flickers after replacement

I dropped my Oppo Find 5 recently, and the screen was broken. Also the digitizer and touch screen was not responding anymore, so the phone was unusable. My brother bought a new screen on Aliexpress.com:
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...y-for-OPPO-find-5-X909/327533_1165990874.html
So, everything was working perfect after the replacement, but the screen flickers on and off. Can I do something about this, or is the screen not capable for the Oppo Find 5? Interesting detail is that the screen doesn't flicker when I'm in Recovery Mode. Below is a video of the flickering:

nexus 6 half white screen flicker (PHONE iS UNUSABLE)

So I was watching a video on my Huawei Nexus 6p GOLD 64 gb, and suddenly I get a black screen. Everything's working fine. I can still unlock the phone and I hear the touch sounds and the fingerprint scanner is working but the screen is black. I've only had the phone for two months now. I have a case and tempered glass on the device and I've never dropped it or exposed it to harsh conditions. So what could be the problem?
P.S This happened twice to me today and the phone goes back to normal but it has a pink vertical line from the top to the bottom of the screen on the right side. When the screen goes black anything I try to do with the phone I get a half white screen flicker and the left side would show me the normal screen sometimes.
Thanks in advance.
Looks like a dying AMOLED panel. I guess you'll have to get it serviced.
