OnePlus 6T Blackscreen, heating up - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hi all,
Rooted my OnePlus with Magisk about a week ago. It was working fine all week, but just today it started lagging and then blackscreened. Tried to long press power and press power and volume, to no avail. Then I plugged it in for about an hour and the phone was very hot. Still no response from it when pressing anything. Any ideas on what might have gone wrong/how to fix? Thanks.

This is not what I searched for, but I had a similar problem so I might as contribute.
I had an issue with Magisk rooting. It seems that the process is sensistive and you need to do things in the correct order. You need to flash an original boot image and redo the Magisk process. If your phone is unable to boot into fastboot, you need to go a level deeper and look at flashing the stock rom from scratch.

**SOLVED** [Q] My Droid Razr M won't get past the droid eye on boot up

I apologize already if this has already been posted before, I couldn't see one that had my issues so I'm making this thread.
OK, so here is my problem and everything that I can think of that I've done to my phone.
Today I tried to restart my phone as it was getting a bit sluggish. When I did it started booting fine then the animation sound stopped while the droid eye was being put together. Now my phone will not pass the droid eye during the boot phase. I press the power and both volume buttons and after a few seconds it starts itself back up again. I do the power button and down volume buttons and it still does the same thing. I've even performed the factory reset twice and it still won't help.... And no matter what I do it keeps booting itself back up on its own.
What I've done to my phone:
I am rooted but never got the boot loader unlocked since i waited too long and the last update wouldn't allow the boot loader unlock methods anymore. I have used titanium backup app to delete some system apps for example the Verizon football one, slacker radio, and any of those useless apps that I never use. I haven't deleted anything lately and have restarted my phone many times since. I have been delaying the recent update hitting no or not now, whatever it says. I thought that I said no today on the system update as well. Even then my phone was working before I restarted it.
PLEASE I hope that there is something that I can do to fix my phone because I'm forced to use my LG Vortex again and my upgrade isn't for another year..... I don't want to buy a new one since this phone has been great and I'm almost certain that if there was a way to reinstal or flash the droid razr m OS that that would fix my issues.
Thanks in advance for your input and please know that I'm a novice with this kind of thing so you will have to explain the process to me. If i have instructions I can definitely follow them.
THANKS!
You Factory Reset a couple of times, so that tells me you know how to get into recovery. See if you can get back into recovery and try clearing cache/dalvik too. I think you can still do that from stock recovery.
If that doesn't work and your battery is good, you can fastboot to recover it. If your battery was low when you started this, charge it prior to fastbooting. Just hold down the power button until the phone shuts off and plug into a WALL charger until it's charged. If the battery is good, you can grab the firmware from here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=8 (use the second one from the bottom, .3, if you flash the last one you will not be able to gain root) and flash in RSD. Another choice is to use House of Moto to recover: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/28162-house-of-moto-20/ .
OK, so I deleted the cashe and still a no go. For the second step of getting the .3 to regain root. would it be possible to get an even earlier version so I can unlock the boot loader? Also when you say flash in RSD, what is that? I know of the AP flash from the first menu, is that something inside of Recovery menu options?
Thanks for your help!
**UPDATE**
THANKS! I was able to eventually figure it out and used the last option that you said and my phone works! Now working on getting root back. Thanks again!! But I really would like to know if I could do the same thing but with an earlier version to unlock the bootloader.
Droid Razr starting up issue
Hi guys, I am facing a weird issue with my Droid Razr and hoping pros to help me sort this out and get my phone running.
I am using Droid Razr but since last one week it is not starting up. Let me elaborate, currently it is switched off and not getting up. While starting it pass through M logo but can't go ahead for startup animation (droid eye animation). Even after leaving on that animation for entire day, it is not going ahead of that.
However, if I connect it to a wall charger (while it is off) it shows battery getting charged. It is taking a usual timing of 90 minutes for full charge.
I have important pictures and data into phone memory is there any way to recover it.
I would appreciate if you can guide me to get my phone up and running as usual.

New/Stock Oneplus Two, unable to boot into recovery

Hey all, completely new to this forum and my Oneplus Two that I've had for a little over two weeks.
I recently got a OTA update for Oxygen 2.2.0 but I can't seem to install it. Everytime I download it and click the "install" option, the phone reboots (probably to go to recovery) but after a very brief splash screen and a vibration, it vibrates again and displays the standard boot splash screen, boots into the OS and offers me to download the update again.
I've done a little troubleshooting in the past two-three days and from what I understand, the phone doesn't seem to be able to boot into recovery or fastboot. I've enabled the advanced options in the "reboot" menu and when selecting "recovery" the phone reboots and does the same behavior described above. I tried powering off the phone and booting with the volume up button pressed (while pressing power) and the phone boots and displays a "Fastboot Mode" splash screen but it seems to hang there forever until I actually shut it off again and power it back on. Also, I've tried booting it into recovery from ADB, connected to my PC and I get the same behavior: brief splash screen with a vibrate and then the phone seems to reboot again normally.
I haven't tampered with the phone yet, it is brand new out of the box, not rooted and nothing other than simply installing a few games, Nova Launcher, changing the wallpaper and using it as you would normally use your phone.
Anyone has an idea how I could actually get the Recovery functioning on this phone?
Best regards and thanks in advance for any help!

That is the norm for fastboot, it doesn't go past that screen.
It may not make a difference, did you try to boot to recovery via Power+Volume Down buttons?
Greetings Khaos64,
Yes, I've tried booting with Vol-Down+Power but the phone does not start.
With volume-up+power, I get the Fastboot splash screen but the phone does not respond to any input.
I tried selecting "bootloader" from the reboot menu but I get the same thing: Reboots and after a second, the phone reboots again normaly and into OxygenOS.
Is there a way to verify if the bootloader or recovery is corrupt and maybe reflash the stock recovery onto the phone?
Thanks for your input!
You may just want to go straight to oneplus support since everything is stock and only 2 weeks they should be able to get you updated or replace it.
If you'd like to be more hands on... maybe something below can help.
So your phone isn't recognized/no commands acceptred from your computer when booted to fastboot?
Such as unlocking your bootloader and booting into twrp... "fastboot boot yourfilename.img" or maybe flashing it.
Make sure OEM unlocking is selected in Developer options.
If you can't do that then this may not work but is worth a shot.

I did try to contact Oneplus for support but I am not the one who purchased the phone. Long story short, it was a gift from my girlfriend that she bought off of someone. The phone was new in box and was a warranty replacement. I would have to contact the seller and go trough him for support unfortunately.
Thanks for the different suggestions!, I will fiddle around with it this afternoon while the kids are having their mid-day nap and I'll get back with the results
Thanks again for the help, it's greatly appreciated!
Hello,
I eventually started fiddling around with fasboot and tried unlocking the bootloader. This sent the phone into a bootloop where it would try to boot into recovery and reboot right away.
I found an article on how to restore the phone to Oxygen 2.1.1. It would wipe user data but I did it anyway and it actually did restore the phone and now I have a worling recovery.
Here is a link to the guide I used:

Thanks again for the help in solving my issue
Congratulations hope you enjoy the phone

HI there,
I am having the exact same issue with my oneplus 2. Unfortunately i know almost nothing regarding these android thingy. I know it has been almost 2 years, would you mind guide me through the steps? I would appreciate it so much.
Thanks.

Can someone help me? I bricked my Tab A 10.1 (SM-T580).

I attempted to root my Galaxy Tab A 10.1 WI-FI (SM-T580), and something went wrong.
I'm very new to the android scene, and was trying to use odin to install twrp.
The install passed, and my tablet rebooted, but I didn't press up, home, and power in time, and it started the regular boot process.
I powered it off, and tried to boot with the power up, home, and power button combination, but when it booted, the tablet went to a screen with hundreds of little horizontal streaks.
I am still able to boot into the power, home, volume down combination (where you can install a custom os), but I have no idea what to do from here.
could someone please walk me through what I have to do to get my tablet back to a working state?
I'd prefer to have root access if possible, but as of right now my only concern is not owning an expensive brick.
I attempted to follow Tech Alpha's video, which was posted at the beginning of this year (February 17, 2018), and it didn't work.
I tried to use Odin3_v3.12.7 to install twrp-3.1.1-0-gtaxlwifi.img.tar to my device. and that's where the problem started.
Thanks in advance for any help with this problem.
edit:
I fixed the problem, as it turns out, all I needed to do was search for an updated version of TWRP, and it worked fine.

LG V20 (H918) Charging & Boot Issues? TWRP?

Hi there.
Sorry if this has already been brought up. I've tried searching and perhaps I'm not using the right terms or something, because I don't know what to call this issue.
I rooted my V20 a while back, but I don't remember which method I used. I'm running stock ROM, rooted with Magisk, and have TWRP installed.
I encounter this not so serious, but still concerning issue, when I turn my phone off and plug it in. See, I'd like it to be completely off so it can charge a little faster. But instead, it just boots into recovery every time I plug it in. I also have the issue sometimes where when turning it on it boots straight into recovery too, in which I have to go to reboot system from within TWRP to actually boot the phone. Finally, booting into recovery manually only works when plugging into a computer while holding VOL+. This may be normal but I was under the impression that it should work just holding VOL+ & PWR. I also can't boot into recovery using any "boot to recovery" thingys while the phone's on, like a few jrummy apps or Magisk or whatever I'm using.
Sorry if this is a lot. All my issues seem to involve TWRP but I'm not too certain if that's the culprit or I screwed something else up along the way.
Thanks in advance.

Changed a permission now I am stuck in endless reboot

Not sure I am posting in the right spot, but pretty sure the people that can answer are in this section.
After putting it off for months, I upgraded my 6T T Mobile converted to international to OOS 10.3.3 with the ElemetalX kernel, and xxxNoLimits 10.2. Did this several days ago, no problems. Great battery, smooth performance. Even getting 2 days with my VPN on and mock location set to "always".
I went into app ops and noticed almost every app now has "access location from media" and started going through and denying that permission for almost, if not all, the apps. I remember a couple of system apps I did that to. Google play framework being one of them, and, I think, google play services. There may have been 1 or 2 more system apps I did this with also.
I do not have a google account on my phone. I don't want to make it any easier for my pocket tracking device to track me than I have to.
I added an open source mock location app a day or so ago, not problems.
About 5 or so minutes after finishing up in app opps, I went to get the kiddo some food and looked down and noticed my phone rebooting. Now, it is in an endless boot loop.
I can hold power + up volume and get it to power down, but can't get back into TWRP recovery. Figured a quick reflash puts me back to zero and I can start over.....more carefully....but the phone is not cooperating.
I should be able to use adb and flash TWRP that way and use adb to reboot to recovery ( going to have to brush up on the how to before I start though.).
Any thoughts as to WHAT I have done and WHY I am now stuck on endless boot( w XXX animation )??
Is there an easy fix I am overlooking?
Thanks in advance,
JC
Volume Up + Power while turning on will boot to fastboot.
Volume Down + Power while turn on will boot to recovery.
Holding Volume Up + Power should force the phone to turn off.
Volume Up + Volume Down should put your phone in Download mode for the MSM Tool
Can you get into fastboot? Then you might be able to boot TWRP again temporarily?
Thanks, that gets my into TWRP, unfortunately, my dumb ass deleted the last OTA update after I flashed it. Should be able to side load it onto the phone, then flash it via TWRP.
Well, things just took a turn for the worse. I forgot to flash twrp after sideloading the os. Now it is keeps booting into Oneplus recovery. Still shows bootloader is unlocked though. I have done everything except a total wipe. Maybe I can still get TWRP back........

Flash twrp recovery via adb commands, you'll find tutorials on several XDA forums or YouTube
