Does anyone know if there are any websites that provide OnePlus 6T unlock codes? I hate the T-Mobile version and they won't unlock the device until after its paid off. Also, if i were to unlock the bootloader, could I sideload OxygenOS updates before T-Mobile releases it or is it different software than the unlocked version?

Can the Sprint essential be bootloader unlocked?
Looking to take advantage of the Sprint deal for $5/mo but only if I can unlock the bootloader.
Yep, it's the same procedure. There's no "Sprint" version. All guides/procedures/roms/etc can be used on the Sprint variant
Bootloader, yes. But if you use a Sprint SIM it will be carrier-locked until you pay the phone off and get the code from Sprint.
*EDIT* Just realized that the OP was asking about Unlocking the Bootloader, which of course is absolutely possible., regardless of the Unlocked version or the Sprint version.
Do u get essential software updates after unlocking the bootloader.
I purchased a used US997 that appears to be a LG demo or test phone. It activates and works, but the software version is still from May of 2017. What is the date of the current stock software for the US997? Furthermore, I attempted to unlock the bootloader and got denied. The message says "Your device (TEST_GPIN) does not support unlocking the bootloader." Hence my thinking the phone is a beta/test version of the consumer model. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on this? At this juncture, I am posed to return the phone.
Thanks in advance.
There are two versions of the US997. One is the US Cellular version, the bootloader can not be unlocked. The other is a non US Cellular version that can be unlocked. You need to go to the LG developer website and submit your IMEI and they will email you a file that can be used to unlock the bootloader. If you have a US Cellular version, they will reply that your phone is not unlockable.

I am aware that there are the 2 versions. What I have is not the US Cellular version of the phone. It is a demo or test model of the US997 unlocked phone. However, I can't unlock the bootloader and it doesn't look like it is capable of receiving OTA updates.

US997 is also the model number of the U.S. Cellular phone. Both the open market US997 and U.S. Cellular US997 are identical in every respect, EXCEPT the U.S. Cellular is not eligible for bootloader unlock.
You have a demo or test model US997 which was NEVER sold at retail by authorized 3rd party retailer like B&H Photo. Thus, it's not eligible for bootloader unlock. The ones that are eligible would not come up TEST_GPIN and their IMEI numbers would in the LG Developer bootloader unlock database.
I looked before posting but did not see the answer to this so....I have the TMobile one plus 6T sim unlocked but bootloader is still locked down (for now) is there a way without unlocking the bootloader to install the OTA's that are downloadable from the OnePlus website?

Those would be international/unlocked 6T Noms and are not compatible.
So the only way to get the updates as they are available is to unlock the bootloader and flash the international rom?

Yes. I did and I have the T-Mobile 6T. Just use the fastboot version to convert and then update to 9.0.7. But please read all the directions thoroughly, so you don't make a mistake. PM me if you need help.
I just purchased a carrier unlocked t-mobile 6t to replace my essential PH-1. I am interested in unlocking the bootloader and converting to global so I can utilize dual sim. Does it matter if I use a bootloader unlock token vs unlocking by the global convert method? Any pros/cons of the different methods? I read that once you unlock with a token your unable to use HD streaming? Does this apply to unlocking by the global converting method? I appreciate any input/advice.
I just unlocked my bootloader with the token.bin from Oneplus. It took about a week. Not sure about the HD streaming limit.
Is the Pixel 4 bootloader for a device that's Verizon locked unlockable or have they patched it like Huawei did so it's not possible to unlock it with or without a code? I tried to search for info but I couldn't find any conclusive.
I am assuming it can be EDL flashed as soon as we found a working firehose file but curious how far they gone as they claim themselves they do not have the capabilities to unlock it.
Verizon branded devices are not bootloader unlockable.
