S7EDGE - downgrade from oreo to nougat - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi
It's possible to downgrade my s7edge from oreo to nougat?
Flashing BL from nougat doesn't work cuz says fail so...
Some ideas?

Because your firmwire its binary u3, and that is impossible to downgrade from oreo to nougat.

Root Sm-G930P on Android 7.0 (N) PLN

Hello,
I am running an SM-G930P with Nougat PLN firmware. I downgraded it to PK1 Marshmallow firmware to root it, and used this root method: https://idoneapps.com/forum/index.php?topic=616.0
It worked perfectly. However, when I tried to use the Nougat update file, it said it was corrupt. When I tried to root it in Nougat, it began bootlooping. Is there any way to root it in Nougat? All I need to really know is how to install TWRP.

There's not a way to root on Nougat yet, especially since it's on a beta firmware. TWRP isn't available on U.S Snapdragon Galaxy S7's as our bootloaders are locked.

What if I downgrade to Android 6.0.1 PL6 firmware, download the firmware file and flash it via FlashFire?

You'd want to downgrade to PL6 and the flash the unlocked PL2 to root, but TWRP still isn't possible.
as many have said. ZERO TWRP UNTIL BOOTLOADER GETS UNLOCKED (which probably won't happen) /thread closed

Unless you have a Chinese variant, you cannot unlocked Snapdragon bootloaders on the S7.
I've went back and forth between Nougat-MM several times. You can't go back earlier than PH1 due to the bootloader being locked, but that gives you the choice of 2 MM firmwares, PH1 and PI3.
Can anyone point me to directions on how to roll back to Marshmallow?

That has the resources you are looking for. Just grab either the PH1 or PI3 firmware and then do a normal Odin flash. You will be downgraded to stock MM.

i just did this in my s7 edge for verizon. Tried to flash the unlocked firmware and it failed. It woudlnt' boot afterwards. (it was first on 6.0.1). I then accidentally flashed a nougat stock rom. After this, I flashed a verizon 6.x.x fimrware and then the tmobile firmware. ALl through ODIN of course. I thikn as long as it works through ODIN, you are fine. It may take a lot of trial and error though

Root bootloader downgrade

Hi guys, i absolutely need to downgrade my Oreo 8.0 to Marshmallow 6.0, but i cant simply flash it with Odin becouse of that damn bootloader, there's a way to downgrade the bootloader?
As far as I know, the bootloader cannot be downgraded. Sad truth, I ran into the same issue with my s6 edge + and lollipop.
You cannt

need help please rom flashing problems

hi hope i'm in the right place, my sm-g935f had an error with an ota update and got brick with the error binary locked with frp lock or something like that. i'm trying to downgrade from oreo to mashmellow and on odin it fails as soon as i start, same goes for when i tried nougat, can someone please help the only rom that flashes is oreo
official rom you can only install the latest version. Android 6 or 7 only to custom roms ported from other devices. Blocking the bootloader does not allow you to downgrade.

It's failing when you flash in Odin because you have a higher bootloader/binary. When you try flashing 6.0 or 7.0 software eventhough it's stock Samsung firmware, your Binary number is higher than the binary on the 6 or 7.0. This is from what I've seen been talked about here and elsewhere. Do you have to Downgrade?
