I want start the phone with a new email address but it asks me to give the previous email address which I don't remember. What to do?
1. You can create a new password via gmail.com -> forgot password?
2. If you wish to remove the old account and use the new one:
Settings -> Accounts -> Google -> Remove Account
Then create the new one.

I have rooted my phone. Wanted to use Titanium Backup. Still running the stock ROM. Now I find myself in the situation to do a reset to change the primary email address. Can the standard method *#*#4636#*#* be used to blank this phone to change the primary email?
If not, what would you suggest.
Thanks - Dan
Settings > accounts > remove your account maybe?
I've searched in vain for an answer to this. I'm running the new Virtuous Affinity v2.05.0. I keep my contacts synced with T-Mobile rather than putting them in Gmail. I want to get my contacts synced back to the phone. When I go to add that account (Settings > Accounts & Sync > Add an Account), there is no T-Mobile account type option. Can someone tell me the name of the .APK I need to install to get the T-Mobile account type back? I have a copy of the rooted stock v2.3.4 ROM so I can get any of the included .APKs.
Thanks.

Asked this months ago as most custom roms have it removed...you can flash the rooted stock and let your contacts re sync, then use an app that backs up contacts and then restore them whenever you flash another rom...if you read the thread I linked, there its a way to pull the contacts out of the my tmobile website so you can import them into google. Once your contacts are in google, you won't have to worry about it as long as you own an android phone
I finally found out how to backup & restore non-gmail email account settings for a Samsung Note 3. Just to be clear, this method backs up the SETTINGS for the accounts themselves...not the emails. I've got a Verizon.net account four GoDaddy accounts for my business. Every time I try to flash a new rom, or just wipe and reset my phone for any reason, I had to go through the setup process for each account over and over and over again. Now, You can save the settings for all your accounts and restore them quickly and easily.
Simply install Kies on your PC or Mac, turn "USB debugging" on under "Developer Options" and connect you device to your computer. Once connected, click the Backup/Restore tab in Kies and scroll down to the "account information & settings" section. Select "email account information" and click the backup button. Now you've got a copy of the settings for all of your non-gmail accounts on your computer. Whenever you need to restore them, just connect to Kies and perform a restore. Hope this helps someone out as much as it has me!
Hi all, I hope I'm in the right place.
I'm writing app with classes for backing up and restoring android data and settings for rooted device. I successfully managed to back up call and sms databases, home layout and rom (system) settings but now I need to understand if (and how) it is possible to back up exchange accounts in order to restore and reuse them in gmail app after new rom installation without manually setting. Found the file EmailProvider.db in com.google.android.gm package data folder in wich are stored accounts data and credentials but even after full restoring data folder the accounts are not displayed.
I think because accounts are system related, so my ask is where are exchange accounts (or accounts in general) information stored in android? It is possible to programmatically backup and restore them?
Thanks
