I'm using SIM1 for Verizon, No issues. LTE speed is great and all calling and SMS features work.

For me until I placed in sim2 tray, Verizon didn't see my phone as OnePlus 6T, then they added the cdma less thing to fix sms and others.

I was using sim slot 1 for a day then my phone lost signal so had to switch to sim 2 and will keep an eye on it. Not sure why one works over the other.

Purpose of Sprint SIM card??

What exactly is the purpose of the Sprint sim card? I went to Russia and got the phone unlocked by Sprint, put in a Megafon gsm sim when I got there and accidentally allowed my Sprint sim to get destroyed in the washing machine. So when I got home I expected my phone to not work, but I figured I would switch it over to CDMA just to see what would happen and it works perfect! So I am confused as to why the Sprint sim is even there, is it just a dummy card with no real purpose?
The SIM is for LTE service. CDMA will work without it.

That cant be true. I had a galaxy nexus on sprint and the sprint variant had no sim slot and connected to 4g lte when I was in the area.

Back then, the sim was "integrated" into the phone.

Different phone different configuration.
Both the gnex and evo 4g lte had embedded sim cards.

Dang! Is it really that much? Not only is $50 many, many times what it costs Sprint to procure the SIM card (which I would guesstimate at less than 50 cents a piece), it is also a lot more than what the other US carriers charge for a SIM.

I thought the purpose of the Sprint SIM card was to enable Sprint's Worldwide services. Where does it show you need a sim for LTE?

You can ask Sprint (I wouldn't count on the clear answer though) or just get to the LTE coverage area, Sprint stores have LTE 4G and pull the SIM out to verify that you cannot get 4G without it.

The primary purpose of the SIM card in recent Sprint phones is to provision LTE. While previous Sprint LTE Android handsets did not have a SIM slot, they still had a SIM, it's just that it was an embedded/soldered/non-removable type of SIM card.
If you take the SIM out you will not be able to register on Sprint's LTE network.
dont need sim

you do not need a sim card fir lte. You do not need the sim at all while in USA. It will connect to the lte network without it.

Are you sure about this? When running a Verizon ROM on sprint without the proper tweaks, you will get am error about LTE not being able yo connect because it doesn't detect a Verizon sim card. 3G works though.

i will when in a 4g area. i am not sure how to show the sim status at the same time as it is not displayed. Since you dont believe, you can contact radio shack in the twelve oaks mall in novi Michigan. They do not have sprint sims and I was in shock when they actually activated the phone because I was thinking I would need to go get a sim card, but it is not needed.

VZW CDMA Compatability?

All,
It seems that the only way to get the XPE working on the Verizon network is to use an already activated SIM.
If I'm not mistaken, this is only for the LTE portion of the radio (since LTE is a GSM derivation).
To activate a phone on the CDMA network, I believe its IMEI has to be whitelisted.
So, my question is, can this phone use Verizon's CDMA network?
This is important because, while I do get some LTE service at work, the CDMA repeater network typically picks up my phone so that I can receive calls.
Thanks!
CDMA works fine. I don't get LTE at home, and my MXP works fine there.

Great! So nothing more than a SIM swap is needed for CDMA activation?

Easiest way definetly is sim swap. That being said. Being that i wanted a fresh sim. Went to store. Official vzw. All that needs to be done
If you don't have a activated nano or want to cut your micro. Go to store and let them know you wish to activate new MXP. Have them call level 2 tech and they can take care of it pretty quickly. Activated in hand. Or call #202 and explain samething and they will send it. Either way mine is activated and everything works great.

I ran into trouble with Verizon activating my device. Apparently the IMEI wasn't white listed yet.
What I had them do is use and already activated S6 on my account (wifes device). To issue a nano sim. Then plugged into my device and that got it working.
Really not impressed with Verizon not having the devices white listed already. Not sure if it's because mine is custom (64gb/ leather). Either way, I'm activated.
Does tethering work fine for those of us on the UDP?

I had LTE once I got a nano sim. They couldn't issue me a nano sim. I'm coming from a galaxy s4 so needed to get a nano sim. Took almost 1.5 hours, but this was the employee calling someone and trying to find a way for a while. Then after all that I suggested using wifes device imei (which is on same account and takes nano sim). Which that process took maybe 10min tops and plugged the nano sim in and worked instantly. On my account shows my device as "non Verizon device". Didn't even know it is the moto x pure

They used her devices imei to issue me a sim. They can't just give you a sim. Need an imei to assign it. They won't do a random imei or one off another account. Then they used a sim that was assigned the imei of my wife's device. Then the sim updated itself with my devices imei and everything.

Is the Moto X Play a Dual LTE device?

Hey!
Are each sim slots 4G capable in the dual sim variant? Because I have an LG G3 currently and the thing is only one slot is 4G capable, the other one is restricted to 2G (which just kills the point of a dual sim device for me).
Thanks in advance!
Nope, same as you have. 1 - LTE + 1 - GSM
To be precise: only one SIM slot at a time can be chosen as full LTE/3G/2G capable, the respective other SIM slot is then only 2G capable without any data. But you can change the selection of the slots on the fly, so it does not matter which SIM is in which slot.
That's great to hear. Which region phone do you have? Just curious.

Thanks! That is actually great. My LG G3 has two slots, but one of these is strictly 2G, I mean really LG? lol. So you cannot change it on the fly.

Is 1+2 dual sim Active?
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
its a standby !! one sim ll be active and another ll be on standby mode when u r going to receive the call simultaneously on both the sim cards !! so when u r already on call with primary sim card slot one and somebody called u on another sim slot, u will not be notified and that person ll receive a autocall message as - u r out of network !!
well that makes sense too, because if both the sim slots are on active mode, battery drain ll be high. however, their are certain group of smartphones who uses both Active mode on both the sim slots !! #htc #samsung !!
i hope this clears everything !! feel free to press thanks if u think i helped u and others as well !

Oneplus 2 dual sim setup
Sorry to dig up an old thread. I recently got my Oneplus 2 A2005 version and was wondering if my dual sim setup would work. I am from Canada, British Columbia and I intend to use two sim cards. Sim card 1 will be for data only through the carrier Fido. Sim card 2 will be for voice calls and text only through the carrier Petro-Canada Mobility. Below are some information for the two carriers:
Fido: 4G LTE uses Band 17-700MHz, Band 4-AWS, Band7-2600MHz
Petro-Canada Mobility: 2G GSM uses 850MHz, 1900MHz
My question is, with this setup, will I be able to use my Fido 4G LTE data while connected to a voice call using Petro-Canada Mobility?
No see any reason why it wouldn't work

That's great but who can actually sell me one. This phone seems to be like rocking horse droppings, talked about but non existent :crying:
I dropped my V10 from one foot last week and something internal has gone making a section of the screen dark. No cracks dents or otherwise - so much for the mil-spec six foot drop test rating....
Desperately need a replacement and the timing seemed prescient until it has become apparent that LG doesn't want to make hay whilst the sun shines over Samsung's nightmare !
If anyone knows where a dual sim lurks, please let me know
Philippines v20 is dual SIM. And if the sales person is right, doesnt share w sdcard like the note 7
Hong Kong and Taiwan version of LG V20 will probably be a dual sim version and both of them will be announced in 20/10, perhaps you can get one in the near future via parallel import.

I can also confirm that the V20 in Philippines is dual sim. LG concept store called me yesterday to inform me that the LG V20 is dual sim (they called because the initial specs says only single sim and wanted to confirm if I still wanted to pre-order). and yes I was also told that the micro sd slot doesn't share the sim2 slot (they say they already have the demo units and they have checked)
In the specs here
http://www.lg.com/ph/mobile-phones/lg-V20-titan
It calls it True Dual SIM which to me is a nudge at those who share with the SD card - in my opinion one of the dumbest things designers ever came up with. Hmm I'll make a Dual sim for the heavy duty users and remove their storage expansion....
So I've been seriously considering this phone. It seems that the Taiwan version (H990DS) is the one to get as it supports more North American bands, unlike the Hong Kong version (H990N). I've been scouring the web trying to find a user manual for either of them, but LG hasn't posted it yet, only the US versions. One of the things I've come across is that it appears as if the 2nd sim slot only supports 3G, not LTE. Does anybody have one of these yet to confirm or deny it? FYI, I'm in Canada, but travel to the US quite a bit where I use the T-Mobile $3/day plan. It sucks having to pop the back off and swap cards every time I cross the border, but if it's true that the 2nd slot only supports 3G, then I might as well get the single sim version.
may i know does anyone have any info regarding the dual sim version configuration ?
which is it below ?
- when one sim on 4G (browsing or VoLTE) the other Sim drops to 2G (both sim switchable with in phone sim management)
or
- when one sim on 4G (browsing or VoLTE) the other Sim drops to 3G (both sim switchable with in phone sim management)
or
- SIM 1 always on/have 4G/3G/2G the SIM 2 always only 2G (non switchable !!)

sorry to ask but can you add in the specifics ... what you are saying are when on standby time and that we all know (which clears out my option 3) but what i want to know is the moment you surf on 4G or call (either sim) what does the other sim becomes ?
drops to 3G or 2G ?
this is important to me as 2G will phase out end this year in my country so if this phone will drop to 2G means its useless to me and show no signal.
side note i saw a posting on the Philippines version it stated that the second sim is only on 2G
source ---> http://www.phonemore.com/phone/lg-v20-h990ds-dual/2847
when one sim is in use the other sim is disabled, but since i only have 2 3G sim, the othere sim still stays on 3G but is not usable.
I think only a handful of phones can do 2 sim active, they are all chinese brand.

Hey, could you list the LTE bands? Thinking of importing this version for ATT.
Gsm 850/900/1800/1900
wcdma 850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100
td-scdma 1900/2000
lte b1/b2/b3/b4/b5/b7/b8/b12/b17/b20/b26/b28/b38/b39/b40/b41
It is always the case that one sim can run at 4g while another at 3g, i got 990N
At least there is improvement, it was the mi 5 that was the first phone, if you are talking about a none chinese brand, sony xperia XP the first note 7, then V20.
I got the Taiwan 990ds for 2 days and love it!
It supports 4G+3G (switchable between SIM1 or SIM2), meaning both sims will function in countries with 3G and above only. It also has separate TF card slot unlike the Samsung Note 7/S7 Edge which sacrifices SIM2 when using TF.
Fingerprint sensor is much faster than V10 and battery life is amazing compared to V10 (used for 16 hrs with a few hours of browsing and 2+ hours call, messaging, etc still with 10% battery left.... Forgot to check SOT though).
It is definitely a few notches better than the V10 and the S7 Edge (which I somehow didn't like the grip), and possibly on par with the Note 7 (iris scanner is way way better the finger prints!).
Now, if only we can get root it will be perfect!
