Anyone having issues with hdr content on YouTube? My screen keeps dimming then going bright. Tried turning off night light and auto brightness but it still does the same.
Have you tried clearing data from the YouTube app?

Just tried and it still does the same. Worried I have a faulty display so wondering if others can replicate the issue.

If it's just with YouTube I would bet it's a software issue and not a hardware issue. Maybe try side loading earlier YouTube apk versions. Or even better, try some of the custom YouTube apps from XDA like vanced YouTube.
I tried vanced and it seems fine so must be an issue with the standard YouTube app. Thanks for the help.
As I read the first post I was thinking I didn't have the problem and my Youtube was working fine which I was going to relate but then as I read the thread I saw that Vanced is working, I'm on Vanced...

Hi all, I've noticed a problem on my MXP when streaming video, it's a bit odd as I cannot stream from Utube or film on app, but I can from others and then certain websites and not others. Obviously it's a bit hard to pin down what's wrong but a reboot fixes it. Has anyone ever come up with this? It seems to be random... Hopefully the MM update will be the end of it.
Can't say that I've encountered the issue, Youtube works fine on my device. Have you tried clearing the app cache and data in Apps in your phone settings?

Try wiping the cache partition. You have to do it through recovery mode
I am having about 250ms audio lag on watching any media, be it speakers or headphones, youtube or home server streaming.
I've tried turning on GPU rendering in developer settings, I've looked for alternate audio codecs, wiping the cache and I've tried turning off google now voice listening.
Does anybody else have this problem?
I tried mine and no problems for now but check what kind if players you have installed or software it might be from there ,hard reset .
I noticed this on youtube especially
Let me know if you fixed the problem and how please!
Probably going to need an OTA for that.
Audio lag
I experience the same problem when playing any and all video files. I recorded a video yesterday and that had lag on it too, even when played on a different device. I've emailed ZTE and the address to do it if you feel so inclined is [email protected]
What an annoying problem for an otherwise excellent phone! There are a few other examples of it too so it's not an isolated incident.
A factory reset didn't solve the problem either.
Update: Bluetooth audio is fine...
Same issue here. Sound is delayed about 1/4 of second.
its clearly a software problem since i dont think the USA users have the problem.

Just curious have you tried a factory reset? Did it fix it?
If this is on YouTube. This is a YouTube only problem. Many people from different phones are reporting this issue.

Happens with other apps as well as reported by others and tested, basically any app with videos using hardware decoder. its definitely not a youtube problem.

So is it a defect?
USA user here, not audio lag for me (that I've noticed) and I've watched a couple movies and several YouTube videos. I just checked it before posting to make sure, and mine is fine.

Do you have a video decoder issue? Like not able to pick 1080p60fps?

Guess I'm not sure where to find those settings?
I just switch from 480p to 1080p in YouTube with no issues? I also watched a video I recorded on my Samsung Galaxy S7 in 4k with no issues using VLC player. I couldn't find where to change to 60fps though?
I was able to record a video in 1080p @ 60fps too

Looks like this is a YouTube encoder issue. I may have to submit a ticket to the YouTube Devs.

It's noticeable on other apps too... Either way wouldn't hurt. I honestly think it's a OS issue since USA have a different version of the OS and they seem okay. ZTE just need to rollout an update fix I think, I've sent them an email about it lets see if they reply. Also the ZTE USA community mod knows about the problem and is trying to get a UK community started!
Bit noticeable on Netflix as well not too sure about this one
I downloaded a movie viewed it on MXPlayer using their hardware decoder and got the sync issue. Switched it to software and wala all was fine! Honestly don't think we need to send phone back or anything they can easily roll out a fix for it

Confirmed this. Really hope they roll out a fix. Just this and Android pay and it's perfect!
The audio lags behind video both in earphones and without .
Is anyone else facing this problem? Any fix?
Should i return because of this?
( This only happens in YouTube app not the m-site)
Edit: also happening in yt gaming app
Edit 2: synced after restarting the mobile

Works perfect for me, both with and without headphones. Try clearing the YouTube-app cache and if that doesn`t help clear data.

Restarted the mobile , its synced now. Thanks for informing.
Hi, I'm having the same issue and already tried a lot of things. Clearing cache and checking what media setting is used in a the developer settings for example. Restarting helps for some time and it's a returning issue.
Edit: just found out it's a Bluetooth problem. See this forum:

Yes, Myself and my friends circle 5+ people facing same issue...Its really headache.
Do you guys experience a black screen for 1-5 seconds when you take videos using the stock camera using auto settings? This happens when the photo size is set to 4:3 and the video resolution is set to 16:9.
Examples (it is worse with SD card):
Internal
-https://youtu.be/fbK_COczXz0
SD card
-https://youtu.be/3KbXS-8QsrQ
Can you guys test this for me?
I need to determine if this happens to all phones or just mines so I can decide to exchange /repair it.
My device is US996 7.0
EDIT: OREO update seem to fixed it. but there is still a slight delay .

Try clearing your cams cache. Other than that...sounds like your phone or software. Also try a different cam app if issue persists.

I tried factory resetting and safe mode. But it still happens. It only happens if I use stock cam using that exact setting using auto mode. Doesn't happen when both is set to 16:9, manual mode or other camera apps like g cam and open camera; there's no black screen but the delay before it record may be still there, but I'm assuming that could be normal.
I'll try updating to oreo to see if it fixes it.
Atm, I requested an RMA for incase I can't fix this in stock.
It don't do that for me...I'm on ls997 classic ROM. Stock or this V30 port I'm running don't do that. Gcam is an odd one...but that's expected.

I updated to oreo and the black screen is gone. There's still like a 1-2 second delay with internal storage (timed it) when I press the record button and when I see the record icon shows up. Should i assume that is normal with this phone?
I probably have to live with that...
Both mine and my wife's 6t are behaving weird. When we are watching Netflix, Youtube or any other apps, after a while, some random stop / resume happens, like if there is a bug with the touch screen....
I did some research and some say it's PIP, other because battery optimization...I tried all, even factory reset....
Does someone has the same issue or discovered how to fix this?
Thanks!

Try it with deep optimization off in battery optimization settings in the three dots menu.

Honestly, I thought about this...if nothing else helps I will peel that off and check if the issue disappears.
I had this happen when I was on oos as well, YouTube would just randomly pause all by itself. I also do not use a screen protector so that is not a problem, after switching to a custom aosp rom it no longer happens leading me to believe it's an oos bug while playing video ( only ever happened to me while watching videos never playing music).
If someone is facing the same problem, I think I figured it out. It had to do with an app that had permissions to be an administrator under the security menu.
Once I disable it the issue stopped.
Similar thing happening to me too, except youtube, google maps minimise to PiP randomly. Disabled PiP for both apps and it works fine now, although its annoying that i've lost that functionality.

I have 2 apps that have admin privileges, both of which need them to work. It's definitely a bug in OOS recently as when I bought the phone I didn't have issues with this.
