I'm setting up some MDM controls for our Samsung Galaxy S8 mobile devices. The MDM policy lets me customize what i do and don't need on it. I wanted to include the default weather widget that comes with it but cannot figure out the App ID to whitelist it. Any Ideas?

For me, the APP ID always contains letters like com.android.maps.com

if you go to settings-applications-manage applications and choose the widget from there you may see an option which says ''Uninstall updates''
this is how it works in SGS but I am not sure about sgs2. it should work the same. just give it a try...
What warfanax said. I also updated, but the 'new' weather clock was broken - no locations were recognised. I uninstalled and got my old widget back (which is much better because it can be resized).

download any N9005 custom rom that matches your build and extract the weather.apk from it
Hello,
I am in the same situation but I did not change any thing such as flashing or other, I installed a few apps only. I get my phone just yesterday I don't remember if actually I had out of the box.
Any help please? by the way I did check the setting and found the weather is activated.
Many thanks
I've also noticed that there isn't a weather app in the app drawer. I've only been able to access it via tapping on the widget. This kinda makes using a third party widget difficult since you can't assign a tap to open the included weather app.

Hello guys,
Is there a stock clock widget extracted from S8? Like the weather widget and AOD?
Also, can we have the S8 fonts?
I'm also looking for the s8 font
If you find anything, tell me ??

Me too, I have XWidget, but I said, maybe the stock one is available.
Quick question, on my s6 even with nova prime I had the ability to use the Samsung weather widget.
I'm actually quite happy with how stock touchwiz is but randomly i thought lemme install nova, and go to find the weather widget is no longer available. Has anyone got it to work? Or is the only other choice is to use a different app?
I have the s8+
Many thanks.
Do, I can't use the Samsung Weather Widget when running Nova Launcher on S7. I use Beautiful Widgets and select their time and weather widget.

Xwidget appears to be a different weather widget. How does it solve the OPs problem?

Thank you for a the suggestion guys, just read on a reddit that Samsung is blocking 3rd party apps. I've been messing with beautiful widgets and for now I'm happy with it.
Setting up a MDM policy for our Samsung Galaxy S8 phones. The policy includes app control so I wanted to add in the default weather widget that is available on the phone but can't find the App ID to whitelist it.
