Head uit for passat B7 2011 EU version - Android Head-Units

Hello everybody,
I have a passat B7 2011 version with a original RNS510.
The RNS510 works good, but I want more, so i want to buy a android head unit.
Will now I almost searching for a month for a good device, but I see many head units and now I don't know what to do.
Want I want is a unit with 4GB/32GB and android 8. These days PX5 is it for the processor. But I saw also PX6 will come out? Is it better to wait for that, or take a PX5? I also want hardware keys, I think its easier then everything touchscreen.
Now I found this and it seems to me a good system:
https://www.joyingauto.com/joying-best-vw-android-head-unit.html
But I also want to have a custom rom for the system, to personalize. The seller told me it'''s not possible to install a custom rom on this head unit, but the roms who I see, seems to be possible (PX5 processor and 4GB.) MCTB or MTCD, how can I see if this head unit (Joying) has that?
But there are more head units. There is maybe a better one, or same one and cheaper then a joying?
It must work with the steering wheel and canbus. Even with MFA if possible (Music, phone and navi…)
At least. I also want to install tomtom go on it. I have a APK and OBB files, so the question is. Can it on an SD to save internal memory?
Many question, but I want to buy a good one to have enough pleasure.
Thanks
Greetz

MFA interaction is limited in the Chinese headunits. Navigation is not possible, only with the original rns. Music shows only a track number, fm radio shows only a frequncy, bluetooth interaction is not possible. You will loose your original bluetooth.

Help on Head Unit Selection

Hi all,
I am currently looking to replace my car head unit on my mitsubishi lancer 2009 from stock to an android based unit.
I went thru a lot of thread and info in this forum and narrowed down my search to a few unit, but i'll be honest I am a bit overwhelmed with all the model and version available on top of all the information available.
can anyone help me figure the best option available ?
so far those model seem to be the most popular
Pumpkin Android 6.0
amazon.com/dp/B01N9QH9X3
Erisin ES6041U or Erisin ES5646U
erisin.com/erisin-es6041u-7-universal-8core-android-60-car-stereo-gps-system-8core-autoradio_p775.html
.erisin.com/erisin-es5646u-62-nissanuniversal-2-din-octa-core-android-60-car-multimedia-stereo-dvd-gps-sat-nav-wifi-dab_p783.html
Joying US-JY-UM135N2
carjoying.com/joying-new-android-6-0-car-stereo-with-gps-navigation/android-6-0-car-stereo-2-din/joying-us-warehouse-2017-new-developed-ram-2gb-rom-32gb-factory-car-radio-replacement-new-android-6-0-1-marshmallow-system-pip-auto-radio-7-inch-double-2-din.html
Ownice C500
ownice.com/Pro_Head%20Unit%20for%202din%20universal_449.html
is there one of those that really stand out from the others ?
would they all fit a standard double din ?
can I expect to run into any major issue setting this up in my car ?
bottomline, I am looking for a headunit I can use for radio, internet music like spotify, navigation like waze or google map and support for backing camera in america.
any help to figure out what is the best fit would be amazing.
Thanks a lot!
Erisin have very bad reviews, seems that their devices are quickly dying and they don't provide support and it seems that the FM reception is not that good. Joying are well supported but I read that the audio amplifier is not that good, Ownice and Pumpkin are popular but I do not know much (not sure about the components)
I like my C500 octacore 2GB so far. Very fast and everything I want is working fine.
All the apps I've tried so far are working great including the ones you mention above.

It looks like a standard MTCD unit. If you can get confirmation from the seller that it is a standard MTCD unit then it should be OK.
Regards
Kurt Lund
looks like it has 2GB of RAM, so it should be good, although I doubt that "4K" video claim
I was looking at the same unit did you purchase it? If so how is it?
Thanks,
I have this unit. Its good and works great, just limited customizations
I went with XTRONS as it had 4GB or vs the 2GB
all I really use mine for is music via mp3's on usb, dozens of albums but in folders, so i browse via folder function
and very rarely, sat nav
searching long and hard for a decent music app that makes browsing folders easy and convienent whilst driving. what do you use?
sorry to jump in
hi can someone please help me understand how to update been told thers no update to this machine but pumpking did same duelcore stereo with kitkat 4.4.4 which i am wanting thankyou in advance

Mitsubishi Outlander 2gen (2010-2012) with rockfordfossgate w/sub MMCS w/rear cam

Hi
I have a Mitsubishi outlander 2011 with rockfordfossgate MMCS system and rear view cam.
I have now installed a Dasaita PX5 Octa Core 64 bit 4gb Ram 32 G rom with Android 8.0 I am currentely using Hal9K rom version 3.1.2 works great
I have got everything working, rear view camera (had to solder a bit to get the original camera to work.)
All speakers with sub working, with the original amplifier.
But i can't fade/balance speakers, don't know if thats posible to fix?
Tone controll working fine.
But i am missing some featurers, I am not sure if it is possible to get it to work?
In my MMCS unit i had the opportunity to change car settings "see attachments".
Like how the wipers shall act and things like that.
I also hade speed signal and fule consumption information.
Not sure if the canbus for my dasaita support this?
In the factorysettings on my dasaita i have choosen canbus (111 Mitsubishi pajero&outlander%asx&lancer(simple)
Steering whell controlls working fine, when i put the car in revers i get the rearview camera and that is working fine.
I have see people talking about car_info app, vehicle.apk and controllinfo apps, this are apps working in the background like the rearview camera app right?.
But i get no icons for this apps on my head unit, and nothing in extra menu or car setting menu.
I do not get any signal when opening doors og changing temperatur on the AC and things like that.
So my question is simple, is there any way for me on my car to get the opertunity to change the settings link a was able to do in the original MMCS unit?
In the MMCS hadde an "equpment" meny, that i do not have now. I also like for information like speed signal, doors opening and things like that be poping up on the unit.
Or is this settning for the equipment and speed signa, doors just not supportet with my canbus decoder?
Is there any other way to get to this equpment setting in my car without installing the original MMCS unit?
Mayby with ODB2 or something like that?

Where u able to figure any of this out?
Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
I have 2008 Pajero Exceed.. whilst older than yours.
It doesn't have the extra menu controls you're also missing
I was looking at a system fully installed Extnix $600
But didn't follow through.
They advised me everything would work including amp -EXCEPT the fade/balance, so it might be a bit more embedded into the Mitsubishi system and missing from alternative head units ?
I'm really interested for this topic. I have a Mitsubishi Outlander and it would be great if I could still have stock MMCS settings on an aftermarket android unit.

Yes, I do have a gps unit. But if I install an aftermarket android unit I will loose all stock mitsubishi car settings like remote car pre-heating, consumption information as well as other important car settings .

Android car audio mcu TP67G1D 0.18 PX6

hi friends, i changed my stereo in the car, before i had an mctd and i had no problem changing android, but now i read this model and i see that no one develops, why? can i change mcu? what exactly is this mcu?
I would like to change android, now I have 9 but the rom I don't like what do you recommend?
...not Android Auto.
In response to your questions: these are an obscure model for which there isn't any active development. They're also really buggy.
Have a think about buying a MTCD and being happy with the bugs, replacing with a certified Android Auto head unit or developing your own ROM.
ops sorry , move in Android Head Units ?

Get rid of it. Unless it is an MTCx unit, there is little point in investing time or money.

Unbranded head unit microphone upgrade

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a used 2010 Prius with an android HU. It's unbranded (noname) and pretty weak (1gb ram). I could live with the android performance issues but the microphone is driving me crazy. Nobody can hear what i'm saying. The unit has an external mic and i wanted to upgrade it to a different one but for some reason, the mic that's connected to the HU has 5 wires (last picture) and the one i ordered only 2 (mono jack). There's also no mic jack. Here are my questions:
1. Is there a way to connect a different mono mic?
2. Does anyone have any idea what unit this is and where i can find a wiring diagram?
3. Can you recommend a better unit? I like the ones that look more like stock, with physical buttons.
4. Any known fix for the error in the picture? "Software has not been authorized legally" when trying to use Easyconnect to mirror my phone.
I need any info i can get, you don't have to have all the answers
Thanks!
I googled "Sp9853i_1h10_vmm" (taken from one of your photos). Turned up quite a few results. I have not had experience with that particular unit but maybe might turn up some useful information for you perhaps.
Not an MTCD, requesting mod moves to [Android Head units] forum.

Thanks for the reply. I've done that first the problem is there are multiple manufacturers with multiple configurations. I contacted Seicane and am still in the process of identifying the unit/software with them but the back and forth is pretty slow..
This is not your "standard" moddable unit, I'm afraid. Most information here and on forums like 4PDA is on units based on 2 main technologies:
1. 8227L Mediatek, system: YT921xx
2. Rockchip PX3, PX5, PX6, PX30 based on MTCx chip.
By having a quick look at what you got, the mic is the least of your problems. These units are packed with so called features but need considerable hardware and software modding to make them work and even excel.
Here is an example of one such modded units, started off as cheap £70 Android, and ended up performing on par with luxury Android units. The video shows the mods, just to give you an understanding.
To save you time, invest in a Dasaita MTCE unit as that one requires least mods to perform well. You can find them for around £200 on AliExpress. Good luck!
Thanks for the info. I'll look into one of the PX chips and go for dasaita.
so i've found a single Dasaita unit for Prius G3 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001625066855.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.20fa2e0eCiCqeA
The problem is i can't find this model on Dasaita website or store and i'm not sure it's real. I've emailed Dasaita but no reply..
There are multiple units from diferent brands (Ownice, Wondefoo..). Can i go for one of those? What should i look for?
Some sellers list the "K6 plus" version as the top of the line. Should i still go for PX6 or is that better?
