Hi
I wonder whether or not the variant sold by oneplus.com website, when buying and sending the device in united states, will be single sim as in TMobile, or the regular, world wide variant with dual sim support as sold everywhere else?

The T-Mobile version is locked to T-Mobile so you can't use a second SIM.
I saw some pictures and it looks like the SIM doesn't have the second slot.
For the version listed at OnePLus, it has dual SIM support.

So far it's just the tray that doesn't have a second slot. Nobody has yet confirmed whether there is a second slot in the phone itself.

If you buy on OnePlus sure you'll have the regular phone. Only tmo sells the modified one
The tmo one has a tray with only one SIM case, and a modified firmware/modem. If you read the (too) many threads speaking of tmo you'll see the endlessly same questions and remarks about that.
Never buy a phone through a phone operator.

For the N910C, works fine with my three sim, they only difference is N910C is exynos with a wolfson dac the N910F being snapdragon 805.
Apart from that they should be the same.
The phone comes sim free and unlocked, so put in whatever micro sim you have.
Sure is unlocked? I will use micro sim of no European countries

It sure is unlocked.... all they mean is that every galaxy note is region locked... this means that the first sim you HAVE to put in it should be one from a European carrier. I don't know carriers from the rest of Europe, but in the UK that means just put ANY sim in from Three, O2, EE, Vodafone, Orange or T-mobile
I received my 910-C from handtec today, popped my three sim in and all is well. Since then, its also had a visit from an EE, and O2 sim, all working just fine

Has anyone actually seen a exynos version against a snapdragon. Can the better sound and camera sensor in the exynos really be identified, can any difference in speed be seen either?
So recently I bought the HTC U ultra International version from amazon(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X928N4G/ ). No Go. Its DOES NOT HAVE THE US or CANADIAN LTE BANDS 2, 4, 12 and 17. So anyone trying it buy it D O NOT buy it if you want to use it in the USA. Also the seller has misquoted the bands on the website. It is ALSO DUAL SIM.
The only one on Amazon that has the US LTE bands is the following. It is the SINGLE SIM MODEL. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N35POJA). I asked the seller and IT WILL WORK. So anyone buying be careful and learn from my experience.
They also charged me a 20% restocking fee for the international version saying i did not verify the correct bands before buying. If your stated LTE bands are incorrect to begin with, how can you even make that argument? Guess ive my work cut out contesting that restock fee.

Inform amazon let them deal with it, very straight forward. Misinformation is not your fault, the cheek.
I've never had an issue getting a refund thru amazon uk.

Hope you get it sorted out.
I wonder if its truly a single sim model for the US market? I've got a Taiwanese model, and it is dual sim, but the second sim slot is a combo slot with microSD. since the "single" sim model also supports microsd, I wonder if the same components are actually there. would be interesting to see.
Hey OP. Not sure if you've sorted out the issue yet? I've got intl. version, with model as U-1u. Do you (or anyone else) know what the Single SIM version model number/name is?
I've read that the phone will come in two versions, one without the second SIM card slot (but still the uSD). Is there a way to know which version will ship in Europe? You can see the versions number on the official website: http://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/mobile-phones/huaweip10plus-en-sup.htm
VKY-L09 is single SIM
VKY-L29 is dual SIM
I don't get why they would remove this functionality for some parts of the world.
A lot of companies are backwards having this hybrid slot, giving you the choice of one (dual SIM) or the other (single SIM + expandable storage), although they are stuck in the 2013 bubble...some companies have actually moved on from there, but I'm surprised why this has not developed with major phone manufacturers.

I received my pre-order yesterday, it's the VKY-L09 single SIM variant in the Netherlands, so I suppose the same is true for the rest of Europe.
I was speaking with a Huawei 'expert' at Carphone Warehouse yesterday, and asked about the dual/single situation in the UK. He said he has been told by an insider that a ROM flash wil be made available to enable the dual sim mode in single sim phones. He said the actual board and connector inside the phone are already in place, it's just the ROM that disables it and the sim tray that are different. He said his source said the ROM will be available in a month or two and the SIM trays will start popping up on eBay.....
Sounds like either the biggest marketing play ever to sell phones and hope no one really cares it doesn't happen, or Huawei realise the issue, and despite the UK networks not wanting it when they provde the phone to us, Huawei realise the potential of offereing a dual SIM option. I have to say he did not give me the hard sell at all, he said they only have a black phone in stock (and only one) and if I wanted white/gold (which I do) to wait a few days and try again. He had a P10 of his own, and was gushing about the P10 Plus like a schoolboy geek!
So there is hope yet!
Just been speaking to a senior manager at Huawei UK who picked up on this when I asked their Twitter account when the update would be available...
IT IS NOT TRUE the actual hardware is different with the single SIM version only having a single aerial so there's no way it can be flashed to make it duel SIM
WHy h why do sales people feel the need to say things that are not true!
Anyway my (probably single SIM) P10 Plus should be arriving today .....

Hi this is the reason I came here, the SIM tray for my VKY-L09 capable to put two SIM card, just the software not support. So maybe if Flash the dual SIM ROM can use as VKY-L29.

My SIM tray is capable to accept two SIM card with no user modification, that is why I though is only the software is different, but I already got answer here as the two model has two different hardware capabilites.

What I'm saying is people at any company will tell you anything to stop tampering with it both software and hardware. I have a dual SIM firmware on my l09 edition. If i can get a dual SIM tray or nodded tray I'll give it a go. Until both phones have been disassembled and had a look then all we can do is hope and try

its possible, Chimeratool .com does that, once you have the hardware hint in form of the second sim slot on most Huawei. Its the first hint possible conversion.
thanks

So that means Huawei lied to me? I guess possible..... not wanting single SIM to be easily changed to dual SIM.
So ALL we need is the SIM tray? The hardware definitely inside?
Wonder which country have the L29. UK only L09, I am thinking dual sim L29 as it will come in handy to have 2 sim if needed.

Hi all,
I've get my P10 Plus in UK couple of days ago. I was really disappointed that model doesn't support dual sim. Huawei Support also told me that my phone is single SIM only plus SD Card. But when I took a torch and flash inside SIM card slot I can easily see second set of sim card pins right upon empty space in tray. So I think it's highly possible to change ROM only and get Dual Sim Version. We need to wait couple weeks to release files for both devices and than check that
If you rebrand to a dual sim model, you can use both sims. Many people reported success already. Google for rebrand huawei p10 plus -- most success has been reported if you rebrand to VKY-L29C636 version.
Confirmed, i rebranded and flashed the VKY-L29C636 on my single sim and it worked, the only thing that i lost is the theme function. Somebody say how can i fix it?
I believe they come SIM unlocked but will they lock to a carrier once I insert the carriers SIM?
If they are like the S7 variants then they shouldn't be locked, at least the Verizon kind. I think Sprint locks theirs down but I'm not entirely sure as I don't have Sprint.

They aren't selling the carrier-free version yet. You have to select a carrier when you order. But others have said that if you order say a AT&T version and initialize it with a T-Mobile SIM it takes on the s/w of a T-Mobile phone. I wonder what happens if you initialize it with a SIM from other than the four big carriers? Or if you can? Anyway, if they do end up selling a carrier-free version beware. The S7 equivalent got updates that lagged even the slowness of the carriers.
Thanks for the replies, i should mention i have purchased the phone already from samsung australia, it was sold as unlocked.

Dont know what you mean?
Anyways, in Canada, the process was;
Buy direct from Samsung, they give you the phone unlocked but the second you insert a carriers sim card the phone auto-lock to that carrier. However, because the phone you purchase from Samsung is supposed to be unlocked, at POS they also give you the SIM unlock codes with the phone to undo the damage.
It doesn't sound like this is how it works in Australia, when Samsung sells a phone unlocked, they have already applied the codes to the phone?
Good Morning,
I have a Galaxy S10 plus, in UK (dual sim) supposed to be locked to EE?
I am using a 3 network sim in primary slot and it works? No problems whatsoever,
How will I know if its locked?
And if it is, How will I unlock it?
Thank you.

Clearly you may not have received that phone directly from EE but a third party reseller (Mobiles.co.uk) as all EE handset are normally locked. If its lock you would not be able to use another sim from another network in it..
Thank you for your reply, yes I traded in my xs max for it at CEX (UK)
I got mine from an EE store on upgrade. As long as its the "Hybrid Sim" version, then its unlocked.

Yeh, is that really a thing with Samsung phones? If its dual sim=automatically unlocked? I'm using a dual sim, is there an app I can use to check rather than having to take my existing sim cards out? Not being lazy, it's just usually if I put another carriers sim in then it changes my data /WiFi calling settings.

Hi just to confirm, you've got a phone directly from EE and you've tried EE and plus net (who run off the EE network) sim cards. Unless you've tried another network besides EE, then how can you be sure its unlocked? Mines directly from Vodafone, I doubt mines unlocked unfortunately.

Yes I traded in my xs max, (256 GB) and got the S10 + (512 GB) I did indeed get it from CEX.
it said it was on EE network? Cheaper and I hoped to get it unlocked.
Tried my (own just out of curiosity) 3 network sim in the primary slot and it works!!? Tried a Tesco sim, (02) it works??!
Got in touch with "mobile unlocked" and told them I wanted to unlock it, and they confirmed it must be unlocked.
Happy Days!!!

All exynos models are dual sim, there are no more DS models, so for that the S10 doesn't come unlocked from samsung. It still is up to the carriers.
Now, carriers that used to provide locked phones may now be providing unlocked phones, but thats on them.
(There is a SD model but thats just the chinese snapdragon model)
I think only 3uk and maybe O2 (not sure on O2) Supply unlocked phones if you get it directly from them. If you buy from for instance carphonewarehouse or mobiles.co.uk the phone will be unlocked regardless of what network you got it on.
