Hi everyone!
I'm new to compiling ROM's. What I want to do is build my ROM's with custom names, (i.e. beta v-0.1, beta v-0.2). I've tried editing my "device_info settings.xml" in ~/android/lineage/packages/apps/Settings/res/xml/, but that didn't work for my build.
Does anyone have a link where it is explained how to do this? I've been Googling, but no luck!
Thanks!

Hello,
I am wanting to learn how to build my own custom kernel and eventually rom.
I have done some "cooking" with kitchens but am more interested in complete build from source - This would include the kernel itself and stock set of apps that go along. I have googled many subjects but what I find seems to be outdated or just doesnt work. Can someone please point me in the right direction.
Thanks
I have only built the kernel. Have not been able to build the whole ROM.
Look up the relevant stuff on Cyanogenmod wiki
I'll Give it a try. How did you learn to build the kernels?
Thanks

Before you cherry pick you must be able to build ROMs from source. I assume you haven't built before. Building is a moderately difficult process. You may search on Google regarding tutorials for building roms from source (ignore the tutorials teaching you how to use an android kitchen). After you have downloaded the source code you can start buildin and cherry picking. Regarding how to download and stuff you can start from here -

Hello all, I'm trying my luck at building and android AOSP from source, and have purchased this Note 3 clone (MTK6589T).
If anyone can give me information on how I can get the binary? drivers for my build?
and or any information with regards to flashing this phone I would deeply appreciate it!
My goal is to create a ROM for others to use.
thank you!

Hello guys,
I am desperately looking for an old stable version of lambda kernel. I tried to search on the developer's GitHub but it was not there.
This is what I'm looking for: Lambda kernel, pure stable version, 3.4.111, f320
and the file name should be like this I guess "LambdaKernel-Pure-Stable-f320-04212016.zip"
Could someone upload or send this file to me ([email protected])? Or at least let me know how I can find it online?
Many thanks!
Hi everyone,
I just noticed that the Z300C Source code has been released by ASUS (2020/11/04).
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/Zenpad/Z300C/Z300C_V4.7.5-update.tar.gz
Any enthusiast who are willing to help me try to build it ?
Edit:
I uploaded the source code on Github if anybody is interested in it :
https://github.com/dchenaux/android_kernel_asus_p023
So the build worked
I created a zImage.
Now i'm wondering what would be the next steps ?
My goal would be to make an aosp ROM.
I found some basic device tree for the tablet which I forked here :
https://github.com/dchenaux/android_device_asus_p023
I'm currently investigating how to achieve that. I never ported aosp for an unsupported device. If you have any advice I would be happy !
sadly i have no idea about how to build a rom, but i hope you reach the goal!
also, could you help me find out what file controls battery charging?
btw how did you find out about the release of the source code?
Hey
Sorry I didn't have time until now to investigate further, but it's still in my todo list.
I was looking for the stock rom on the Asus website and I saw that the source code was available.
Hi, any luck on making a custom ROM yet? (Sorry for the bad English)
