I've been for a long time on CyanogenMod but I've decided to take a fresh start and reinstall OOS, I used to be on the 3.0.1 firmware and everything was working great. But OOS is buggy and I used to get better battery life on custom ROMs sooo yeah. I've never tried lineage os but I think that it still runs on the older firmware, do you know ROMs working on the latest firmware ? Thanks !
Almost all roms. Exept you may find one where VoLTE is not working.
No roms run on the newer firmware as oneplus sources are from 3.0.x.
Until nougat is released we will not see updated sources.
I haven't been following the Android scene lately, and have been thinking about upgrading to Nougat. I'm running an unlocked bootloaded, TWRP, and a "debloatded + root" ROM based off stock (can't remember which one). When I say "best ROM", to me that's the least problematic ROM. I'd like to have a ROM where the power management doesn't go crazy and force me to reboot in order to not have it auto-kill NPR One every day. I'm aware of the CyanogenMod / LineageOS shakeup, but I'm not clear on if there's a build for the Axon 7, and the state of things. It seems like about enough time has passed to where there would be a few Nougat ROMs out there where all the basic functionality is working (GPS, BlueTooth, etc), but I'm not sure what the good options are.
People running Nougat, do you have any suggestions for ROMs you're using / loving? In the past I've been quite happy with CM-based ROMs, but I'm not adverse to stock or stock-based setups provided they are less buggy than the stock Marshmallow ROM. I prefer to have a rooted device so I can use an adblocking solution if possible.

Well, if you have an A2017U or G, it's best to stick with Marshmallow. B15 (Nougat for the A2017U) is buggy and slow. A2017G doesn't have an official Nougat version for now, so in order to have Nougat you have to flash B15.
If you have chinese model, there's 7.1.1 which works better but some users are experiencing problems with the Google Play Store.
I don't recommend AOSP roms at all, they have many issues like:
Camera (currently it crashes when recording videos and the quality is subpar)
Bluetooth (many incompatibilities with some devices)
Sound (no dolby atmos and only one channel is working so speakers are mono)
Fingerprint sensor is very buggy on some devices
Animations are not as smooth
Sometimes the device will unlock to a black screen or an unresponsive desktop
Can't remember more, but there's more
There's only a few... Check them out.

Stick with MM, it's great. It's fluid, the camera is good enough, the sound is great and the battery life is very good.
7.1.1 is on the way for us A2017U users.

im curectrly using B15 7.0 on china phone and there is bugs with hebrew no translation and icons mirror fliped in dropdown menu but system i quet smooth
yea cant record video wait for proper nougat update
if they realise buggy nougat for G user they will loose users
hey guys
im actually thinking about going back to original andorid 7 with pure motorola experience with all functions working properly (7.1.2 builds has some problems with camera and battery drain)
is flashing back to 7.0 worth? Are all functions from our phone working properly?
To be fair i have installed custom audio mod, magisk and art optimization but i think its not nessesary.
Hello folks.
I was tracking down a mobile data problem I was having...as part of the troubleshooting, I was installing a bunch of different ROMs (LOS nougat, RR nougat, RR oreo). I found the solution to my problem after installing RR oreo, but the ROM itself was not the solution; it was a configuration problem.
Anyway, I'd just as soon not reinstall again, so my question: is RR oreo stable enough for everyday use? Or should I go back to nougat before I configure all the apps on my phone?
Thanks.
Both of are as good as it can be.
it depend on personal choice.
Both are good, some people have a few bugs with rotation on oreo I think.
No issues on my end worth mentioning.
However the battery drain is there on all oreo roms, more than nougat. On my old stock battery i get 4-5 hours SoT, and it seems like that for most people. Depending what you do.
Removing NFC is supposed to help, haven't tried myself.
But for myself, I've tried RR and now trying AEX. Both are fantastic, RR offers a little more customization and wake screen on waving. Crdroid has an oreo rom now too I believe that I haven't tried yet.
Do a clean flash to avoid problems. It also requires latest twrp or you'll likely receive an error on flashing.
I've rooted with magisk and all is well.
G900w8
Could anybody recommend a best stable 64 bit BUG free( like cam not working or no volte) oreo rom
That i can use as a daily driver
Is the resurrection remix bug free and worth it?
Tried them all, and haven't found one yet that doesn't have some little bug or another. Just depends on what you can live with.
Is there any major downside for using a oreo rom now?

Well probably the problems going back to stock (though now you can make a backup of persist, which fixes volte). And also the tiny annoying bugs that come with custom roms (usually camera related, no slow-mo, etc.).
As for the bugs, most of them will be easier to solve when official oreo is released. Vache is waiting for oreo so that he can grab the camera blobs and stuff like that to make a stable treble oreo rom. Until then I'll just stick with stock.
You're better off sticking with stock or custom Nougat Roms. While you can "fix" VOLTE with persist and EFS backups, there are still issues with VOLTE malfunctioning occasionally requiring a restart of your phone to fix until it happens again.
