It's a long story but I soft bricked my G928F.
I bought it off Gumtree in the U.K and it had an frp lock on it, the seller stated that she had wiped it off so would not take it back. I had a read around and it seemed that Wondershare Dr. Fone would take off the frp lock........it didn't, rather it messed up the stock recovery. When attempting to enter recovery I get the following message and am stuck in a bootloop:
No Support SINGLE - SKU
Supported API: 3
dm-verity error
failed code: 0x02
E: failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
While Odin will recognise the phone Smart Switch will not so I am unable to use the emergency recovery procedure.
I have read similar posts where it implies Smart Switch is the last resort but in my case that doesn't seem to be an option
Can anyone suggest a way to recover the phone or do I throw it in the bin? Any help appreciated

Flash this using odin :
https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1tg9hJOCquyfuyROYtgpxyVKNbuidzdL8&export=download
Then, you will be able to flash latest version normaly, and also your will remove frp lock.
Thanks for that, I will flash it when I get home and report back.
Didn't work for me, the combination file gave an 'md5 error! Binary is invalid' message when loading into Odin, while renaming to .tar the flash failed.
firmware update start
Single download
sboot bin
param.bin
FAIL
Thanks for your suggestion though.
I tried installing firmware G928FXXS5CRH1 (VOD) but it failed at hidden system image, I removed that file and created a .tar which flashed successfully but the phone rebooted
to recovery initially but still showed a dm-verity error. I deleted the cache and then factory reset which appeared to also complete successfully but the phone would not boot up.
I then tried flashing the hidden sys image on its own but that failed and the phone went to the Smart Switch error recovery page, Smart Switch will not recognise the phone so will not allow access to the emergency recovery facility.
Still trying though if anyone has any idea's.
Hi there,
Im in the same boat. It had the verity error too.
BUT:
For me it worked to flash the 4-part firmware of the G928FXXS5CRH1 via Odin then.
The device boots again, without the verity error
It had Android 5.1 before, when I could flash the COMBINATION ROM and use it just fine.
(but it was a Android 7 combination ROM) :/
After flashing Android 7 debranded (G928FXXS5CRH1) in 4-parts (BL, AP, CC and CSC file) the FRP lock is still there of course,
but the phone is booting again without the verity error.
COMBINATION ROM will no longer let me flash it, though.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/help/g-928f-verity-0x02-modem-bin-fail-t3886122
The download I did via the tool "samfirm" use chk32 and decrypt on downloading !

Thanks for the reply, I fixed it myself in the end. I spent 2 days over Xmas until I eventually tried the solution that you have suggested. I eventually found a 4 part software. AS to the FRP lock, be it good luck or persistence, I managed to get rid of that as well using Samsung FRP Tool.

You probably have the oem lock enabled at the moment. Use smart switch and try to do an emergency recovery. This will flash stock rom.
When you have successfully restored your phone. Enable developer settings. And unlock the oem tick

I tried many times.... both emergency and initalization fail with and error and downloading mode shows "SECURE CHECK FAIL : (BOOTLOADER) ... I flashed a CP file an hour ago and got myself to recovery, but it fails to mount system with a lot of other mount fails... please help
I think it's cause I didn't set up secure start up and i think i disabled oem unlock and usb debugging, but usb works just fine... and didn't delete google account... but still I shouldnt be locked out so badly, I can't do anything... I can't flash via odin cause frp... mannaged to flash a BL and a CP file and nothing else. Still can't boot or flash AP or CSC cause of frp-fap or w/e it is... and recovery doesn't help since system is empty or non existant... not sure.. pls help
If you got yourself tor recovery. Do a full wipe there. It will disable the protection on it if I'm correctly. Try that step.
You said you could flash the bl. Doest it pass or fail when you try the same thing with a complete rom?

As for the flashing a rom all together doesn't work, almost all images files are denied by FRP - FAP w/e it is.... with a green msg in downloading mode "Custom Binary (your img here) Blocked by FRP/FAP Lock ... recovery.img,boot.img, system.img etc... , only can flash CP and BL, BUT the BL file that I can actually flash is from a SM-G935F_BTU_G935FXXU1APC8, my stock firmware which is german vodafone's latest ( G935FXXS1BPI8_G935FVFG1BPH1_VD2) BL, AP and CSC can't be flashed with odin ... BL fails with Secure Check Fail (bootloader) as does it fail in smart switch program.

My main problem is that Smart Switch can't restore, it stops at 0% installing phase, since the BL ie the bootloader can't be installed. the download screen says in red SECURE CHECK FAIL : (BOOTLOADER) i'm 99% if I manage to somehow make smart switch install the bootloader ie the first thing it wants to install, everything else would fly since smart switch ignores the FRP/FAP , or so I heard. pls help guys there must be a solution hiding somewhere...

If smart switch can't restore it the I'm out of options. Smart switch basic forces permission to restore the system.
Flashing a different bootloader isnt going to do anything if I'm correct. If the system and data image is intact you could try to flash the bootloader that goes with that rom.
That way it might boot and you would need to enter your Google credentials.
I messaged you a link to rootjunky with a bypass in the front. You might want to try that.
Otherwise you could try to flash a different recovery ( Philz?) that might gain access to the image.
If the data and system image is wiped. Then the only thing you can work with is odin.
I have no knowledge of adb, don't know if there are some options with sideload

Good to hear that you got it up and running. The frp lock was 3 days first. Well at least the Google credentials section. But after many customer support has been rolled back to 24 hours

Hello guys!
Just wondering if someone has a solution for my problem.
I have a G930F Phone that wasn't rooted. After the original Samsung update it just bricked itself over night.
I tried to do Emergency Recovery in SmartSwitch which did not help. Also tried to downgrade/upgrade the phone to get it back on.
The problem itself is that it just stuck in the Samsung logo and wont start up. FRP is on (idk why I did not turned it off)
In Android Recovery I have the lines :
No Support SINGLE-SKU
Supported API: 3
E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)
E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)
E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)
dm-verity error...
I tried almost everything I found on the internet.
Just wondering how an unrooted phone can brick like this from a software update...
I hope someone has a solution.
Have you tried booting into recovery/download mode?? Turn off the phone (power+volume down) then to get to download mode, you hold volume down + home + power. Recovery mode is the same but with volume up instead of down.
If you can do this, you'll need some things to flash stock:
Odin: http://odindownload.com/mobile/
Firmware: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935F/ (not sure what one you need, so you can pick from your location and version you want)
Some people can boot into recovery but not download mode for some reason. If this is your case, there are two methods I know of:
- select the "boot to bootloader" option and use Odin to flash stock.
Or
- Select update from sd card (I'm not sure how to do this, never done it. Idk if you can use the Odin files or not)
My s7 has turned off suddenly and does not turn on anymore in any mode or button combination, i tried all combinations. I plug the charger and there is no charge signal, did it burn the mother board?

Thank you for your response. I can go into download mode. I tried to go to stock like 10 times. New fw, older fw, 6.0.1 fw, only ap files and any other combination. Also tried to delete cache.img and flash first system.img and then boot.img repacking with tar.md5 repacking Tool.
Nothing helped

Does it give you an error?
Also, if you were on nougat you will have to find another nougat firmware to flash. Idk if it's the same for the international version as it is for the snapdragon version with bootloaders. You can't downgrade on snapdragon. Do some research on that and make sure you're not flashing a older bootloader

Please look in my first post, there are the Errors. I have the German version with the exynos CPU. Normally i can downgrade with the full 4 tar.md5 files.
If you mean errors in Odin, then no. It always flash without problems.

Dm verity is in the boot.img. Have you tried a whole new firmware?
Try this??:https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935F/DBT/download/G935FXXU1DQG1/183751/
It's Germany, make sure to flash csc (not home csc)
From the errors it seems like your efs partition has corrupted, you could try to find a PIT file and flash that through the PIT section in Odin, its a long shot at best as your efs partition (as far as I know) holds vital device information.
The last Update killed my s7 edge totally. The Update killed something on the Mainboard (Maybe was faulty from the beginning as i had 1-2 Reboots a year ago already). Had to send it in.
Couldnt even get recovery to Boot in the end.
Is it bootlooping and getting Hot?

Hey
I had exactly the same problem with the Galaxy S8. Odin downloaded the software version and a few days of fighting but no effect ... Odin showed an error and the phone was still cold. The Android programmer helped me fix the phone. I found on the internet his announcement from "raises" the software. This service cost 10% of the S8 price and he did not tell me how he did it: / but the repair is possible so do not give up!
Since then, I use the serial software on a daily basis and I only use my previous S7 edge to play with the administrator functions
Good luck!
My mobile is working fine until i reboot once. I got frp error on booting time. Then i got it is boot error. So, i search on somewhere and install BL file in mobile by odin. Now i'm getting the following in my boot logs the problem is same but here is not error showing (stuck at samsung galaxy j5 logo). So, i recovery logs at check boot menu.
E :failed to mount /system (Invalid arguments)
I have also tried to update through adb but it is disable in my mobile.
I have also tried to update through external storage but it is disable in my mobile.
I have also used https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j500f-t3416960 and getting error blocked by frp lock.
did you try to flash firmware with odin?

After flashing stock with Odin, enter in Settings, Developers Settings and activate OEM unlock and debugging, this will prevent the FRP lock, then you can repeat process to flash TWRP and root phone if you want and so...you will be fine.
Thanks for your time actually at that time firmware unavilable from official site so i was trying to make it from unofficial website but now problem is resolved. Again thankyou for support.

I'm having the same and exact problem as in this video with same brand device S7e https://youtu.be/l8-ccufk4Q0 the man could save the device by installing TWRP because frp was off. I can't do the same because I got frp on
I used to play with a whole Frp Remover Tools but nothing helped or worked, and also tried some cracked boxes but unfortunately they seem just like interfaces and didn't work as well
If I ended with frp lock turned successfully off then everything will be easy, installing TWRP then flashing through it no_verity_encryption will solve the issue and the device will boot the system successfully, I need to turn it off, if anyone has a solution please help!

If only it can be turned off, I'll flash TWRP

I wonder if you could use a custom kernel with dm-verity removed altogether. You could Odin it. No need for twrp. What firmware version is currently installed? I will compile it for you if you want to try it. Maybe try verity will get you to a point where you could remove frp while booted. Is your bootloader still unlocked? As in OEM unlock I mean.

When tried to flash TWRP, it says custom binary recovery block by frp lock
And when tried to flash a custom boot that I took from a custom ROM and I Tared it, it says custom binary boot blocked by frp lock, I don't know if frp is related to OEM unlock or not and I don't know why it failed to Odin the boot that I took, the current firmware is CSC1 ..link for appropriated boot.img https://desktop.firmware.mobi/device:454/firmware:19931 if the device will read it as a custom one I don't think it will bypass it so, I would not disturb u if actually the phone will refuse it
But if crom service still off that means the bootloader is unlocked, once running for the first time on the device no need to use it anymore and the bootloader will be unlocked, but I don't know if OEM is enabled and it says in download mode secure download enabled

Ah ok. You're right it won't flash then. Sounding like a qcom CDMA tool might help. I've seen a couple that allow you to remove frp but I believe it requires entering qshusb mode. But it seems like options just get more and more slim now

Yes, playing around a right tool can remove it, searching and testing ..
Edit: @klabit87, all the tools failed
I have same model and same problem. Did you find any solution?

Please PM me then we will first try to fix it and then post a tutorial here on XDA.
Hi there,
I got an old man's S7 Edge (SM-G935F) and I'd like to help him rescuing his photos (he doesn't have a periodic backup but he learned from this now).
The phone did stuck at the boot screen. He didn't try to modify anything.
FRP Lock on unfortunately. Should be the latest Android.
I can enter the download mode (not the recovery) but no chance for TWRP b/c of FRP. Same error for an engineering recovery I found online.
AP SUREV: B:8 K:B S:7
So I got me two OEM firmware packages with Frija and try to reflash but it always stuck at flashing "boot.img" endlessly.
Also it got me to the "An error has occurred while updating the device software, Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software." screen now.
(I have no code for Smart Switch recovery but I still can get into download mode using FRP Hijacker.)
Is the NAND most likely roasted and the only hope may be chipoff? Tried on different PCs with different cables.
Thanks,
Nico
Edit: I don't need a working device, decrypted dump would be enough.
Edit 2: When I skip the AP package (containing the "boot.img.lz4"), it stucks at flashing "RADIO" after a few percent.
