What is currently the best Android head unit available? - Android Head-Units

Hello
I'm looking to purchase a new Android head unit for my Kia Sportage 2012.
It can be with 8" screen size and maybe 10". It must include those features:
1. Resolution at least 1280x700
2. 4g slot for a SIM card.
3. it MUST BE FAST!
4. android at least 7.1.1
5. SWC that work with my Sportage.
6. OTA and support from community/manufacturer
currently, I have a generic unit that works slow and it's android 4.1.1 and low memory so I can't do much with it...
please help me find something that worth the money
thanks

AnyGo 4.4 or Joying 5.1 Head Unit

Hi Guys,
I'm kinda new on this forum, but I need some advice. I'm planning to buy an Android Head Unit for in my Suzuki Swift.
I found two units
- AnyGo Android 4.4
- Joying Android 5.1
The AnyGo is about 70 euros cheaper, but has Android 4.4 and I guess not a lot of customer support. The Joying one seems to have a lot better customer support and has Android 5.1, but is it worth the 70 extra euros? I could use this 70 euros for upgrading my stock speakers.
Also the AnyGo has the option to choose a TDA-7851 amp over the TDA-7388 on the Joying one. Does this make a big difference? What about Android 4.4, can I still use my apps at least the next 4 years? Can you guys help me choosing one of these units?
Thanks a lot! :highfive:

Headunit comparison/recommendation

Hi guys
Looking to purchase a new Android headunit for my 2008 Mazda 3 and have narrowed my search down to the following:
Hizpo HIZPO001AU59
A9 4 Core
2gb memory
Android 7.1
Xtrons PCD76M3MA
A7 4 core
1gb memory
Android 6.0
Eonon GA8151
A7 4 Core
2gb memory
Android 6.0
Which one would you recommend out of this bunch if the prices were similar? The Hizpo looks higher spec over all but doesn't look as good ... the Xtrons looks the best but only 1gb RAM. Eonon seems to be middle of the pack ... low spec but 2gb RAM.
Comments and suggestions would be very helpful please I want to get this purchase done today if possible!
Sorry I am not allowed to post links as a new member...
Well just based on looking at this post alone, and owning a Mazdaspeed6 myself, I'm inclined towards the Eonon based on the name alone. I've researched units specified for my car and I've come across Eonon often enough that I wish there was a good unit specifically for my car.
But what are your plans for your unit? Are you looking for simple pnp? Are you looking to fully customize a sic infotainment media center?
Ultimately I think you'd want to find a unit backed by the XDA community

Thanks so much for the reply ... Eonon does seem to have a good name and is much more well known than the other 2.
I'm probably a more basic user ... I'd want to use my unit mainly for GPS and Reversing camera functionality ... but it would be nice if it had good sound output also. I can't see myself putting so many apps on the device but I'd like it to be quick and reliable for years to come. Basically plug and play with minimal configuration required.
From reading other posts on here it sounds like all of these chinese "Huifei" headunits are all basically the same on the inside ... brand doesn't matter too much? In this case a higher spec unit would be better right?
Beware: a colleague have purchased a Joying HU with 1.8 Ghz proc specs (Intel Atom x3/Sofia) clearly stated on seller's page, while its only 1.2 max. This product advertising sheet (rather ****) should be double checked.

Strange I would've thought the Joying HUs would be quite good.
I ended up not purchasing a new headunit ... I'll wait until next year
At the last minute as my finger was hovering over the buy button I realised that the Xtrons and Hizpo HU may not support my Bose Amplifier system that is set up in my Mazdaspeed 3 ... there is a wiring modification that can be done to correct this but I'd rather have it work natively. The Eonon HU includes an adaptor that works well with the Bose system which is great!
I'll likely buy the Eonon unit next year when I'm back in the market to purchase one of these unless another good competitor arrives on the market!
Is there any custom rom for the GA8151?

Kunfine or Fongent PX6 Android 9.0 for 2012 IX35

Considering buying on of these units. Any input is highly appreciated.
Main needs I have:
- External mic
- Fast boot
- Need android auto
- Physical buttons
- Android 9.0 (only because want to get the latest...the last one I bought was android 2.x that has lasted me 8 years)
Reading on the forum seems like Joying and Dasaita are very popular. Just trying to get some input as I couldn't find units with the same requirements with physical buttons.
Thanks for your input!
same manufacturer
Those two are only alix resellers - the units probably come form the same manufacturer. Examine the specs closely and chose the better or cheaper one.
I recently bought an android 9.0 unit and beware you're gonna have to fiddle the unit for a while to get it right.
From what I hear, the px6 Android 9.0 usually all
- come with some form of android auto (or you can add it)
- have a sleep mode (so "fast" wakeup)
Good luck!
See you here later on wanting updates

PX5 4G ram with Android 10, someone already tested them?

Hello,
I saw that in Chinese online markets are available car auto heads with Android 10.
The hardware specs are the usual (cpu PX5, 4 gb ram etc), is safe to buy them or we should wait or choose an android 9 radio in order to have stability?
Any way to root them in near future?
I searched online but there are no reviews in youtube for these android 10 units.
Thank you!!
Axl
they must be the coronavirus special edition
you want stability? choose android 8

Once installed in the new car, I would like to keep it for the next 10 years approximately.
I guess that Android 8 will be prehistory in 2030
Before to buy an Android 10 unit, I will wait for the first reviews and (fingers cross!) first root/mod experiments here in xda.

i bet you won't keep the whole car for 10 years, forget the android unit
we will have android automotive by then, hope more OEMs jump on that bandwagon. For now only Volvo will use it this year on the XC40 electric / Polestar 2. Later on, Audi and Fiat/Chrysler will join.

i bought the IB90MTVL, 4GB Android 10. So far it runs without any problem.

I Purchased the same radio from xtrons but the only issue I'm having so far is trying to hide the system status bar been trying to find a fix but most of them require root which the head unit is not or adb and I have no clue on how to adb into this head unit.

What do I choose, Eonon GA9453B or Joying

Good night, I want to know if the radio Eonon is a good choice. It has DSP, android 10, IPS screen, "9 and TDA7851L Power Amplifier. But what concerns me is the processor being the MTK 8227l, A7 quadcore 1.2ghz and having 2gb of RAM. I will use google maps, spotify and youtube. With a promotion the radio would cost € 315. On the other hand, I have Joying with everything Eonon has but with an Intel octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM, but the worst thing is that it has Android 8.1 and the screen is not IPS and is more expensive. What do you advise me?
Thanks.
I'm looking into the same question, at the moment the Eonon GA9353 is $250 with free cameras, and the Joying is $100 more. I don't see the benefit of the octa-core being sufficient for me (music + GPS). Did you find more info to help decide?
I've been delving deeper into these radios in the last few days and reading everything about these radios here at XDA and I see that Eonon radios really have very outdated components (processor, like the Cortex a7), and I don't know how they can handle Android 10.
Then we have the Dasaita max 6 which looks very good, but it is very expensive, and then you have the atoto, which will update its radios now in May for the Intel processor equal to that of Joying.
The Joying radio is the best price / quality choice, despite having some bugs and android 8.1, it will probably be my choice.
The Radio is this JY-VO131N4GSN.
So, my question will this device be upgraded to android 9? Thanks
Eonon
More reading, DSP seems to worth the investment. The Eonon Is Android 8.1 faked to display Android 10.

I don't think so.
But why do you want Android 9 or 10? There is absolutely no added benefit from 9 or 10 on these head units.
You should ask: How long will this unit be supported? And how long will security fiexes be supported? That's a more important question.
And theoretically, Android 9 and 10 will be longer supported but hardly any of these resellers do that. As soon as they have a new hardware config, they stop supporting the old one.
Atoto is the only exception, but they are still on Android 6. But support is still continuing over most models.

Yes, you are right.
My concern is that Android will be out of date and the applications will no longer support it, but also the support itself will not provide bug fixes and security bugs fixes, but the OS is also not too old. So I will either go for the 9 "or 10" inch joying, both suitable for the Golf 6. I will also buy a subwoffer the JBL basspro hub, it is at an excellent price on ebay. Thanks, this forum helped me a lot, however when the radio arrives I will post photos and comment on the radio, so I can help other people who need it to choose.
