So after i update my phone from nougat to oreo via wifi i get worst battery life on standby and sot. I check my firmware ( my lg its a unlocked lgus997 ) and it was the version us99720a i check on lg official webpage and it said that the last update for my phone was us99721b . i do not know why i didnt get that version when i updated it via wifi.
Long story short i download on my pc the us99721b kdz, then i factory reset the version i get first and put my phone on download mode and connected it to my pc. And using lgup i flashed it with the option "update" , when it was done i factory reset it again and stop home app to times because there its something wrong with that app that also drained my battery.
This are the results, i went to sleep for about 6 hours with all services turned off including wifi and battery saber turned on, after that i turned on wifi and turned off battery saver for 3 more hours on standby and didnt low any porcentage. So my phone last night was 100% and after 9 hours its exactly the same. Now i testing sot, while i was writing this post drop a few. Im on 95% right now
Im new on the forum. I do not know how to add my screencaptures xD
I added them on my drive but dont let me post externals urls :/

Hi guys, I never really understood the meaning of those hours when i click on my battery status. On the pic shown, it says: 1H 10m 29s on battery. Can someone explain to me what that means? It seems very low to me, and i just got my phone 2 days ago. It is the octa-core version i9500.
I also see that media takes up most of the battery, and I dont know what that is.
Plz explain?

It just means your phone is for 1H10M29S unplugged from the power plug :fingers-crossed:
If you click on media you can see which apps are contained in media and stressing your battery.
having wifi on, and using my phone for normal usage and its allready 77% in just 1 hour... I hope the battery does improve as what some people say if you have a new device.
In 3 hours i have a loss of 7% while using Whatsapp and Instagram, 3G is activated.
Did you activate auto. Sync (Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Samsung stuff), Gestures, AirView and so on permanently? If so, please switch them off, this will help for a longer battery runtime (only if you dont need them all the time).
How a about the display brightness? automatic oder manual setting?
#offtopic What is that font & needed to root to change it?
#ontopic The time will not reset after you plug it in for a short time.

From the history it looks like the screen is on all the time...? If you're using the phone non-stop it won't last more than 4 hours.
Otherwise, usually the problem is due to something keeping the phone awake and probably also using CPU. A restart should temporarily fix it. Post the Battery screen (not the history) as a first troubleshooting step.
You don't have any problem at all. You use your phone, so the battery goes empty. That's normal....
It's been 48 crazy hours since I'm having this annoying issue, and after Google even my soul and read the same amount of words as 180 bibles... I give up and write down what's happening to my Note 4.
I have an international Note 4 (N910F), with stock Android 5.0.1 (N910FXXU1ANK4), which was working 100% normal until 2 days ago where - just for curiosity - I installed Cyanogenmod 12.1 to see how it runs on my phone. After 30 or 40 minutes I returned to stock using the same stock Android 5.0.1 which I have previously downloaded from Sammobile.
Before install I did a clean full wipe, root again, and put it just like I did 48 hours ago. The only difference is now wifi scans for connections, it sees wifi connections, but it wont connect. I've flashed the whole firmware countless times, did a full wipe with TWRP and stock recoveries like 15 times, format partitions countless times, forgot connections, put details from scratch again and it just put them as Saved, but it wont connect. I tried to make a totally open connection and nothing... so I'm really out of ideas here.

Any suggestions? Any miraculous app? Please guys help me.
Thanks in advance.

PD: FYI I'm the only one in my wifi channel.
Hi everyone,
I'm a bit new to this but bear with me. I got an S5 SM-G900A this week with OA1 loaded on monday night. After spending tuesday marveling at how much bloatware was on it and how horrible the battery life was I rooted and began freezing and uninstalling some apps. Day 2 with the phone was also very bad, it nearly died in 8 hours with less than 1 hour screen time. Today, Day 3, I began tweaking a lot of the settings to see if I could get it do better at idle, but again it barely lasted through the day. It took me a while to figure out the "WiFi always scanning" setting, but even once I got my phone to sleep, it didnt seem to make that much difference (no blue bar in usage manager). I've attached some screenshots from usage manager and wakelock detector, does this all look normal to the experts out there?
Should I just flash back to stock to see if I can get the phone at least making it to 15+ hours with light usage on the completely stock setup? I feel inclined to do this, because it SHOULD work bone stock, right? Or is it a waste of time and the stock rom is so bad I should just load something else?
Finally, if I did want to try going back to completely stock I could just follow the troubleshooting section of this post, is that correct? can I flash the OTA updates in the same manner using ODIN instead of sideloading from an sdcard? http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-g900aucu2aoa1-4-4-4-2-3-2015-t3021120

flashed to stock
Just wanted to update for anyone having similar issues. I flashed back to stock using the "downgrade to NCE" file found on this site, then sideloaded NCE to NG3 and NG3 to OA1. That solved my problem and the phone now runs like a dream.
Ok guys it started since I migrate to 5.1.1 ROM, flashed clean DN 0.3 note 5 port, and the phone would just go black at least once per day, nothing seems to work even a hard restart (volume up + power button for 20 sec) only a battery pull would restart the phone. So I figured it must be the ROM ( noone in DN 0.3 thread seems to have this problem) . So I flashed the original 5.1 firmware for my country, rooted it and used it for a day to find out it does the same! I'm really not sure what seems to be the culprit. I couldn't find a conclusive pattern on the bsod however last time I noticed it happened right before I was disconnected from public wifi, perhaps it is the modem? Maybe it's root and bootloader conflict with 5.1 firmwares? (the phone boots up, so it cannot be bootloader? Or I don't understand something about what bootloader does?) Any one has encountered the same problem? Any clues on how to fix it?
Just happened again while wifi connection was weak and I think it happens right before it got disconnected or switched to other connection mode or different wifi
Read around the forums that people are having bsod in combination with Tasker and secure settings to switch off secure keyguard, I never use this option, just use Tasker to automate sync processes, Uninstalled it nevertheless. Will see if it helps
Happened again... Noticed that the battery percentage drops quote significantly after the battery pool, here is the screenshot
