Hello ,
I have an old sm-g900p branded to Boost. I rooted the device and installed TWRP. I'm looking for a custom ROM that has GSM radio so I can use a T-Mobile GSM sim. I can't seem to find one. Can anybody help please? Is is possible?
Phone specs:
Samsung galaxy s5 boost mobile
model number is SM-G900P
Hardware G900P.04
software G900PVPS3CQD1
android version 6.0.1
build number MMB29M.G900PVPS3CPK1_Deodexed
device status original
So my processor is Qualcomm. After a longer search, I have found this MOD over here. I have already back up my original data and I will do it now...

Well, the links to download the ROMs suggested in that tutorial are both dead. What other ROM can I use for this device to then edit and make these radios work please?

Hi,
Recently I bought this phone, and now I'm looking for an CyanogenMod/AOSP ROM.
Is there already one? Or could someone create one.
I already tried myself, but without luck.
Thanks in advance
No custom roms or CM rom is available yet for G900FD.
Till now all we can do is Root it and use Xposed framework modules
Yes,
The ROM from normal S5 G900f is running, but without radio.
Difficult to insert the Multi-SIM part?
me 2
i am waiting for cm to be ported to my FD
I'm also waiting for it as I already tried Nameless ROM but Radio is not working.
How about kernel ? Can I use G900F kernel on G900FD ?
Yes, you can flash a ROM for the 900F onto 900FD, But then you will not have radio.
WLAN and everything is working. Just the missing RIL driver in the kernel.
Yep I'm desperate for a better ROM for my SG-900FD as well. Mine is so buggy.

Isn't it possible to flash the RIL files separately, just like we can do the modem flash separately in HTC devices?.
The part which is seperately flashable is the Firmware for the modem. what is missing in the ROM is the driver to access the modem. Recently I found a custom kernel for G900FD. so it should be possible to create a fitting kernel. Tomorrow I will post the link. then it would be good if someone who knows how to create will build the kernel.
Here the link for the kernel sources:
https://github.com/frogfire/G900FD-Kernel
I will try to build one again today.
It's me again,
Unfortunatley I didn't get it managed to compile the kernel.
Anyone who knows how to do? Or could maybe do that?
If needed I can provide a build environment.
Galaxy G900F themes/apps to G900FD Models
Hi,
May I know, can I use all of the support provided here (S5 G900F Themes & Apps Section) for S5 GM900F can also be flashed/installed/re-used in G900FD too?
Is the build.prop is same for both of these devices or is there any changes possible?
Lastly, Is it possible to make G900FD model working by using ROMs which are modified to work on G900F model?
I thought keeping the dual SIM Radio/Kernel (for Dual Sim Version) intact with no change in them should not create problem even if changing the ROM.
Please let me know if its wrong.
G900D
:crying: i want to buy this device the only reason i didn't do it because there no cm rom for it :crying: :crying:
i hope some day we can have it
+1
is it posible to install the original firmware of the G900MD in the G900FD to use the MD bands in LTE?

When you say "radio" is the phone line? Work 2 chip?
All I asked today, said that it does not work the rom G900F in G900FD.
i want cm to my s5 duos:crying::crying:
Was looking at the unified rom section to see if it's worth to go ahead and root my phone as I've held off. Got really lost quickly with all these abbreviations. kltexx, kltelra, kltetmo, kltecan, klteatt, klteub, klte acg, kltedcm, klte. So many. I know mine is kltetmo as I have a TMO S5. Does that limit my rom choices to ONLY kltetmo or would i be able to flash a klte build? I know i wouldn't want to flash a klteatt and such but what about just klte?
thanks!
the same as that question. How can everyone help me?
How can i distinguish kltexx,kltelra,kltetmo,kltecan,klteatt,klteub,klte acg,kltedcm,klte?????
You can use klte ROMs on your T-mobile which is international LTE (900F) since both are GSM.
Can anyone help me with my model s5(SM-G900R7) are there any roms out that I can flash I'm kinda new to this
I have a sprint galaxy s5 (sm-g900p) and i noticed thaht there are a lot of s6 esque roms for this phone but are for the t mobile carrier (g900t if im not mistaken) and since almost all the editions of this phone are the same (ecxept for the international ones like the g900h and other exynos ones) would there be a way to force the rom to use cdma/lte in the settings menu or build.prop or something along those lines since the specs are the exact same but the software is trying to look for gsm networks. Just a thought i had. If anyone could give advice as to how this would work or how to do this that would be awesome.
Thanks in advance,
Chippinganimal
Will the i9505 stuff work on the SPH-L720T? It's the branded Sprint version of the i9505 and I don't want to brick the damn thing. If there is anything I need to know, now would be a good time to tell me. I will point out that I have the 4G version (I think that's the only version made for this model anyway) and it is unlocked to work on all networks. Will I loose that if I flash a custom ROM?
Secondly, I am looking for a ROM that is as close to the stock experience as possible but doesn't have all the issues of stock! But with fixed stagefright issues, the widget draw on Touchwiz UI, and better power saving features.
Thirdly, recovery: what is the best one to use? I was thinking TWRP since I already have experience with that. Do I also need to match up an Odin version for my device?
I think that's about it for now. Thank's for the help!
If the code was jfltexx, it's safe to flash. Just check the ROM's thread for any special guides if available.
For stock-based, no idea. I don't have an I9505.

Thanks. Where do I find the code to tell?
On any I9505 development thread with jfltexx on their supported device list.

It's a rebranded I9505. They have identical hardware.
Your phone has a tri-band something. I don't know what it does, but it seems to be carrier related. That's the only difference between the normal SPH-L720, I9505 and your model.
Hi,
I have a G900F I got in the UK and I've just moved to Canada with. Problem is it doesn't support some of the bands here so I find I often have a poor signal. I'm happy with the stock ROM but I believe if I am to open it up for all bands I need a custom ROM.
I don't need anything too flashy, but I'd like everything to work and be responsive.
In terms of the most complete ROMs it seems LineageOS Official and Resurrection Remixed are the most popular. Can anyone comment? How about Android 6 vs 7?
Thanks
Used to use resurrection but now that I've moved to lineage os I can say that its better and getting improved every update it gets

g900f is almost identical if not the exact same as the canadian s5 g900w8.
you would need to use correct freq for your carrier, search will provide a howto. worse case scenario is to flash a canadian 6.0.1 modem from any canadian 6.0.1 stock fw
if trying to figure out connectivity, stay w/stock first as modems are from stock fw.
imo try superlite 6.0.1, it stock based and only takes a few minutes to install that way you can test out your carrier connectivity issues

So I can keep my stock firmware and just replace the G900F baseband (G900FXXS1CQAV) with the Bell Canada SM-G900W8 Modem and everything will be the same except the phone will work on the Bell Canada frequencies?
I had been planning to follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059 to enable the 1700MHz band which is disabled on the G900F, but if flashing a Canadian modem will enable this band that sounds easiest.
Do I need to download the full 1.5GB firmware and extract the modem from it?
Thanks

ive never tried flashing a mdm from another model as ive never needed to for the s5.
ive not read enough to know if its possible or if it has any neg consequences.
easiest would be to change freq w/current mdm, search for samsung secret service codes to view and maybe change current freq
good place to start is here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729694
I've done a lot of research on this forum. Most people say that installing G900W8 firmware on G900F isn't possible. Also it seems that it is the NVRAM which stores what bands are allowed on what model, so simply flashing a different modem won't make a difference.
Some people are saying that the hardware is different and this is what limits the bands, but I don't believe so, the radio/modem chip is the same version between models.
Trying to follow the link I posted earlier to change the NVRAM values after installing a custom ROM appears to be the only way. Some people say it works, and others say it only appears to work. The original thread was closed years ago so I guess I'll just need to try it and see.
Alternatively I could buy 2 phones, one W8 to use in Canada and a F to use in Europe, this seems silly though.
