So, I bought my S8 in March. Since now I've had lots of problems with the battery and I just asked Samsung to check it if there were any flaws. They swapped the logic board, but now (after 1.5~ months after the repair) I've got almost the same problem (it was very poor battery life with overheating issues reaching upto 45-50° without charging, now it's only very poor battery life). I checked with Phone Info my battery health and after ~100 cycles it's already at 88% of capacity. Is it normal, or should I just go and ask for a battery replacement?

Hello, i just want to give a testimony about my new Uni battery.
3 days ago I am buy a new battery for my TM MDA Pro. I buy this because I want to replace the 2-years old the original battery with brand new battery. Because the original battery is "damaged", the device blacks off when reach 38%, or 50% using UMTS radio, 80% using camera, 75% when using data connection. I am trying the troubleshooting rules posted by users on this forum but no effects.
Purchasing on the phone store, ask to the seller and they say they not have the Original battery, so the seller give me the second-quality one. I am comparing the original battery and the one which i will purchase. Different manufacture only. The original made in taiwan and the purchase one is made from China. Both from Dynapack.
after this all , i try it at my home. The new battery already filled but at 15%. Hey, if i am using the old battery one, i think the device cannot turn on. But with this new battery, it can switch on without turn off backlight or radio at startup. COOL!
And then I go to charge it until 100%. The battery is drained .. hmm little a bit quicker than the old battery, but It is very powerful, i still can use camera altough the battery at 50% ! Also i can use data connection when the battery at 15%.
So I think, buy a new battery is a solution if you have problems with the device that blacks off at XX%.
I just have this battery for 3 days, I will continuing testing this battery.
Note : sorry for my bad english
iam cheated........
even i was having battery problems die at xx%,i bought a made in china battery from a local shop.the time i inserted it battery was 45% left......but the battery backup was horribly low,in 15 mins my battery got to 15%....nd in next 10 mins it was fully drained......even if i havnt used any battery sucking apps,it was just in normal sleep mode, still it got drained, the original corrupted battery giving satisfactory backup despite of the turnoff issues....,i think iam cheated from that vendor......coz i bought it for a high price of 25$.and this f****ing performance is hurting me a lot......plz guide me guys what should i do.........
Sorry, there is something I forget to report, but mayur9890 has been remind me.
After initial charge until 100%, I carry it to my office. When on the road it still 100%. But after I reach office, it goes 69% ??? So quick??!!
But i have try to continue use them. But the device still working although the battery remaining is just 12%.
So I think I just have the "same" quality battery. Maybe the lost 31% on the new battery is same as 38% the old battery as that turned off. Hahaha...
mayur9890, the battery you buy is so expensive. I just buy around $15. With note my country is Indonesia.
Are the battery what do you buy is little same with the original battery? My old and new battery does not have significant differences. Just the manufacturer country. My new battery is from China also. From Dynapack.
I suggest you to buy that battery.
Thanks.
All
I have been suffering with poor battery life for many months now, I have tried all the obvious solutions, even going back to a fresh re flash with no other apps and still the same (i.e. barely a day with moderate usage).
Then it occurred to me that I used to get at least 2.0 or 1.5 days with moderate usage for the first 6 months.
I confirmed a while back my battery was no the bad batch.
Anyway finally I source a direct genuine replacement from Handtech for £10.
I swapped the battery (no other changes at all) and voila, I would say back to original expectation
Reflecting back, the battery charging and during use would get very warm (not a good sign) but there was no sign of battery swelling, etc...
With the new battery even after a long first charge the handset was completely cold.
interesting...
How long you used the original battery?
I know some Iphones that still last a day with single charge after 5 years of usage. So the battery still keeps the charge. My 3 year old Galaxy S2 still keeps the charge but not as good as new one. So at least Samsung batteries becomes weaker over the time significantly.

Original battery was barely 1 year old.
I don't overcharge and normally cycle it once every few months (complete discharge and charge).
I am now 20% down after 8 hrs, with the old battery it would probably be about 40% down.
Last week I got a new battery installed in my Nexus 4. I was using the original, around 2 year old battery, and I found it would drain very quickly below 50%. I had a shop install the new battery for me, I don't know if it was an official LG battery or not.
I ran the battery down to zero percent my first night with it, and have charged it at night ever since.
When I unplug the battery in the morning the battery percentage will suddenly drop down to 88-94% in about 1 minute. After this the battery drains normally and I get good battery life.
Today I tried charging it back up to 100% after it had dropped to 88 %. It charged to 100, and drained normally down to 95. Then, in a minute or two, it dropped down to 84, and has been draining normally.
Battery life is good, but the strange behaviour makes me think something is wrong with the battery. My question is: is something wrong with this battery, or is this normal behaviour? If it is, than I can ask them to give me a new battery. All this is with the stock ROM. I flashed 5.1 since getting the new battery.
Exactly the same here: Old battery made a worn-out impression, so bought a new one. Actually tried three different new ones from ebay now, all do the same: They charge up to 4.3V around, and when unplugged drain to 87% in a few minutes, i noticed the voltage going down to 4.0/.1V mostly, too.
The current battery seems ok from battery life, but i want an even distribution of the battery status, no matter the voltages - how can i achieve/fix this?
Same here.
Are there any solutions for this issue?
Hi all,
Recently I have exchanged a battery at a local service provider, battery they showed before installation seemed as legit as they come and after replacement phone felt way more agile especially at a lower battery charge levels. So I was happy until I started investigating poor SoT that I thought at the time was due to the Oreo update. After some time, resets and reinstalls it feels like the system is as healthy as it can be for now, but Accubattery shows 83% health at 2,853 mAh out of designed 3,450 mAh. That is only after few charge cycles, but I am still worried that it might a permanent battery hardware issue. Right now at latest Oreo build with elementalx kernel running a wingoku gov profile I get around 3 to 3,5 hours of SoT with little use, over night after 100% charge phone looses around 10% percent by the time I wake up.
If anyone has any insight into similar issues and can confirm Accubattery health stats credibility I would really appreciate.

Sorry, but you got a bad replacement battery. It happens. Although it just provides an estimated value, I've found Accubattery to be a very solid indicator on the phones I've used it on. Since your battery is barely above 80% it takes the guesswork out of the equation. The battery capacity estimate converges quickly to a value after only about 3-4 charges. That's it. It's not something else with the phone. It is the battery itself. There are literally dozens of threads discussing which batteries are good replacements and from which sources. Buy one of those and your problem will be solved. There are some Accubattery haters out there, but I guarantee based on what you are saying, your battery is a dud. With a fresh, high quality battery you should be seeing very high 90's to low 100's. Yes higher than 100% because some batteries sold actually have a higher capacity than rated. Try to get one of those.
Thank you for a reply.
At this point I guess I will just have to live with it until I buy a new phone, I only decided to give this one another go since I love it and do not see anything on the market now that would appeal to me as much as 6P did at purchase. But I do not want to spend more money and time on this, just wanted to make sure this is not a software issue. Software I can tweak, but battery replacement yet again is too much.
Hello people. I use s7 edge ezynos version from the day of release. Dor half a year my battery life became much worth. Tryed everything, reflashing resetting etc etc. Then I've found accubattery. After several charges it gives me information that my battery has 69% of actual capacity 2480 mah from 3600 Should I trust that? Is it normal for battery to detwriorate this much? I vharged it once a day max. At the beginning once in two days or so :/ My much older oneplus one gives 79% of battery capacity and it is the one that was abused by charging twice a day and with heavy gaming etc. Please report your battery states and please give me advice. Should I change batteey on galaxy or should I just leave it like that Is it worth it to give it a new original battery? I am sure water resistance will be gone..

Most of the damage on battery on Samsung devices are caused by fast charging.
And it depends on you is it worth replacing or not, if you think that it lasts for you enough then don't replace it.
Damn. Maybe I will sell it cheap and buy s9 or something..
battery is easy to replace.
battery life is about 1000, so in 2 years it is possible
I never use fast charge as in my opinion it makes the battery cells work faster than they should which damages the battery quicker, the s7 edge charges fast enough anyway without fast charge on
