Don't know if its possible but i think a working google camera app for j3 would be really nice. Devs look into this it will really be appreciated. :good: .Was able to get a good but not great photos out of the J3 i think with a camera app improvement it could be better. Seriously.

Hi all,
I was wandering if there is any performance or quality hit with the s5 camera when using a custom rom with does not use the s5 camera app.
I have heard that they had some improvements with the Samsung app.
Thanks!

I've been using the Google Camera instead from the Samsung one. The photos at night have better quality, and the interface is more simple .

There are many hardware features you'll loose out on by using Google's camera app rather than Samsung's camera app.

Really? I dont now, the only thing i now is that the photos are better to my eyes. But what hardware features are you talking about?
Hello,
i am a bit dissapointed of the camera. Quality of pictures are even worser than the quality of my oneplus one.. I dont know why, but is there a app which is especially good with le pro 3?
Which gives the best picture quality?
Thank you.
try google camera, but mine is okay, esp if you browse it on the computer and you'll see the detail talking about the built in APP
In the Telegram group, people recommend Cameringo, A Better Camera, Snap Camera
Stay away from Open Camera as it may hardware-brick your device.
Yes i tried cameringo, its OK but not that good.

I just bought "A Better Camera". Seems solid so far. A little confusing at first, but the developer seems to keep it updated. Snap Camera has not been updated in quite some time, and is much more expensive.

Feedback?
I use footej camera and cameringo for simple editing. Actually i dont notice significant quality difference compared to stock leeco camera. Its just feature/ease of use preference.

Good afternoon fellas !
I'm writing to you in order to know which camera app you are using right now since I tried last port from Pixel 3 google camera with no results. Is there any port available to use bokeh or HDR+ in our SD801 powered devices?
I'm looking forward for a better camera than the Lineage OS stock one, which is the same since Lollypop days.
Kind regards.
as far as i know, the devs dont have the code for the camera api2 needed for these apps from Samsung. so we are stuck with mediocre camera in non-tw versions. so it doesnt matter what you try, as long as your ROM does not have the api2 support coded in, the app will not make full use of the api features.

Good afternoon! A nice camera is the only grail on S5, given that we are already blessed to have so many nice ROMs.
I recommend Google camera 3.1 from apkmirror to have hdr+
Or my A2 camera mod if you want a modern UI with interesting features
Also the lineage camera is being worked on by our maintainer so it should get even better soon

I tried installing the latest samsung camera apk but it won't install, I'm assuming it's because I don't have a Samsung phone? or is there a way to install it? Or does anyone know of a port? My wife has a Samsung galaxy s10 and the camera is awesome so I wanted to try it out. I'm using the gcsm already which is a huge improvement from the op camera which really doesn't take very good photos imo..

I wouldn't hold my breath. Samsung propriety apps rely heavily on Samsung frameworks so it is extremely unlikely to come. It's mpossible to port. Also the app is not the reason for the camera quality of Samsung it's more the hardware they have.
Use gcam if you want, version 7 is coming soon. Google camera quality is more app dependent.

Dear people of XDA
I have recently flashed lineage OS 18 onto my phone and the video quality is disgusting, is there a way to get a original camera app onto it, but retain the custom ROM? If not could you tell me the best 3rd party camera app is the best for my needs?
I want to record 1080p 60fps video
i want it to take descent quality photos
I would like a 4k video option but this is not really that important!
hope someone can help me
Jeremy

Unfortunately, Samsung Stock ROM-based apps couldn't work on AOSP Roms.
